New UNICEF Ad Says Santa Doesn‘t ’Do Poor Countries’

A new ad from UNICEF Sweden is meant to encourage viewers to give gifts of charity during the Holiday Season, but has the punchline and vibe of an Occupy Wall Street propaganda linking Santa Claus to the 1 percent. Could the United Nations Children’s Fund be the latest participant in the War on Christmas?
While giving charitable donations in others names as gifts may be a noble gesture, the brash and cold Saint Nick presented in the commercial seems like an odd way to entice viewers to purchase UNICEF stocking suffers such as malaria tablets, rehydration bags and polio vaccines.
“I don’t do poor countries,” says Santa in a malevolent tone closing the commercial. He is followed by the UNICEF message “We go where Santa doesn’t — Buy your Christmas gifts at unicef.se.”
What Christmas movies do you think this director grew up watching?

Posted on December 19, 2011 at 2:05amWhat‘s even more of interest is that member nations who ’want out’ are beholden to it under threat of LOAN FORECLOSURE (i.e. – they ALL in chapter 13 bankruptcy, if you will) – that‘s like when you or I ’overextend‘ at the ’offer‘ for student loans to ’get a better job at MacDon‘s’ or ‘mortgage’ on that ‘nice house’ – ‘tough toenails.‘ No they didn’t hold a sword at their throats, just LIED to them to get ‘em to sign. FRAUD in the offer/acceptance for value based on non-disclosure of pertinent information to make a FULLY informed decision renders such contracts null and void. Period. Case closed. Move on. Nothing to see here…. We didn’t make the rules, nor are we party to them. How then can they apply? Follow the logic here? Worked for King John. AND King James… (1611 Bible ring a bell??) and Henry da 8th, I yam- I yam… even that King Geo guy – Treaty of 1783…. with them there ‘founders.’ all self-proclaimed ‘princes of the Holy Roman Empire’ til they were forced to play their trump cards.

Posted on December 19, 2011 at 4:17amFunny how Santa and his gifts seem to show up automatically in countries who believe in what he stands for… The possibilities of joyful generosity appear magically under governments which encourage creative free enterprise (Santa’s industrious yet fun workshop), and all of those rather Christian “being honest and good to all” values which Santa insists upon in order to make his list. Seems to me the UN is really taking the long way around– spreading the belief in Santa would certainly be much more fun and efficient.

Posted on December 18, 2011 at 11:04pmIf we consume more stuff to give to somebody, foreign or domestic, wouldn’t that make our carbon foot print bigger? Wouldn’t that cause Mother Earth to cry? Wouldn’t that just make the apparent disparity between the rich and poor look even higher? I hope Santa skips OWS and spreads the joy to people who really need it.

I guess Mohammed will replace Santa, and instead of reindeer it’ll be Jews…or 3 dozen carpet women…

Unicef is creating the illusion that they’re competing with Satan Claws to bribe poor people into worshipping him. The treat is the gift (in whatever form), the trick is that they’re ALL Satanic (and a house divided against itself cannot stand).
“For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.” Isaiah 14:13-14

Just like ‘shopping’ for that perfect ‘gift.‘ We don’t want to disappoint anyone, so we tug heart strings or SCARE ya to death for ‘compliance.’ btw — IRC 501(c)3s are by and large ‘doctored’ FRONT orgs. Its not a secret, and its not accidental. Just some of the ones most offensive to a ‘paradigm’ ever get light shed on them. Political ideologies have been PUSHED from the pulpit since ‘forever.’ — well – at least since 1 A.D. ;-)

Posted on December 18, 2011 at 9:12pmThis is why I never have contributed to UNICEF; they are the biggest scam artist you could ever donate too. Only fools donate to them.
Although I agree parents in poverty can’t give presents to their children, but many Christians organizations do. I sponsor a girl who lives in India. I send money each Christmas so she and sometimes others, if I can donate more, will receive a gift. I also sponsor her Christian teachings and on occasion we exchange letters.

Posted on December 18, 2011 at 8:59pmMost poor countries are not Christian, and Santa, at least the inference that he is an offshoot of Christmas, would not be part of the non christian peoples tradition. Also I guess UNICEF doesn’t count the thousands of shoe boxes with presents in them that are distributed throughout the world. UNICEF wants us to give them lots and lots of money and their bureaucracy siphons more than half of it for lavish parties and trips. A couple of more thoughts .. why not pick on Kawanza or Ramadan, or Buddhist and Hindu celebrations.

On the very day the wish was to happen, the Make a Wish Foundation decided to renege on its promise to one very sick little boy. The reason? The boy’s doctors wanted to perform surgery to remove a brain tumor, even though they told the family there was little hope it would help, and the child would likely die within 6 months. The parents wanted a second opinion, maybe an alternative treatment. The foundation decided that was akin to blasphemy, and refused.
Now I refuse to donate to them. Instead, I give to the Salvation Army and the Wounded Warrior Foundation.
