New Video Shows Protesters Were Warned of Arrest by NYPD Before Marching on Brooklyn Bridge

New video posted by the New York Times reveals that the NYPD warned crowds of “Occupy Wall Street” protesters that they would be arrested before the swarm marched on the Brooklyn Bridge Saturday:

The videos were released by the police Sunday morning, which show officers issuing two separate warnings to marchers. As the officers warned the protesters that they would be charged with disorderly conduct, the crowds chanted “Take the bridge, take the bridge.”

The Times writes that the release of these videos back police claims that “it was the marchers’ choice that led to the police arresting about 800 people,” and that the protesters were not tricked by the police.

You Nazis can’t threaten to arrest people for 1st Amendment- protected protest and then do it and claim you were within the confines of the law!

Every person arrested or abused ought to SUE every single officer INDIVIDUALLY and then sue the Nazi Police Dept!

So you block a vital thorough fare?

What if you blocked a road & an ambulance couldn’t get through?

How many ambulance were called that day? How many had to reroute?

They could not congregate at Central park to show their numbers? To persuade people by showing up & say look at our #s , we have a chance you should listen?

      @V-Man Mace

They were not being arrested because they were exercising their first amendment rights. They were arrested because they were spilling over into the roadway from the pedestrian area. Also, they were headed toward a construction area of the bridge. There is a reason why construction areas are sealed off, it’s because they are not safe without the proper safety equipment (which these people certainly did not have). Nobody was a “NAZI” here.

They can’t sue anybody. Even thought they have the 1st Amendment/ free speech or whatever.. that has nothing to do with them blocking road way, (or even sidewalks), there are still city ordinances that they have to follow or they will be ticketed or even arrested for breaking those laws.

There are plenty of other places they could have protested. Your right to the first amendment is all fine and good until it violates someone else’s rights. For example, a citizen not being able to drive across a public bridge paid for and maintained by tax dollars because a mob descended upon it. You have to remember, rights have boundaries. We also have these other pesky things called “laws”. You idiot.

Yes you can. When you endanger yourself or the public. You can be arrested. When you interfere with people in the course of their daily business you can be. When you violate a law while protesting. You can be arrested. Read this slowly and don’t forget to breath. When you tread on the RIGHTS of those not protesting, by interfering with their freedom of movement, you can be arrested. It isn’t all about you. In a civil society you must think about how your actions will impact your fellow citizen. NOW GTFO!!!

I think you missed the point. They WANTED to get arrested. It’s their goal to be a political martyr. They think they are the new civil rights movement or something and they want to get arrested as a badge of honor. If someone would have gotten a permit for them to be there, they would have gone somewhere else. By the time it’s over, some clever free-market believer will make a fortune selling T-shirts saying “I was arrested at the Days of Rage” and not a one of them will get the irony of that.

Do you not realize that those who are the Nazi’s, are those who are doing the illegal protesting? That is how all the leftist types like the Nazi’s and Communists have worked since their beginnings. They are leftists, different forms of socialists. You do not have the right to unlawfully block roadways, that is why you need a permit. Emergency vehicles must be allowed to get through for public safety. Political speech can easily be done to get across your points and ideas without mobs and rioting that the left often uses. The best examples recently have been the Tea Party gatherings.

The Day of Rage protesters lost the protection of the 1st Amendment when they disruped the domestic tranquilty of individuals who had a legal right to cross the bridge for legal reasons.

The Preamble to the Constitution addresses the promotion of domestic tranquilty. Domestic Tranquility was added to the Preamble because prior to the Consitution the government was unable, by force or persuasion, to quell rebellion or quarrels amongst the states. Following Shay’s Rebellion, one of the main goals of the Convention, then, was to ensure the federal government had those powers

This allowed the States, counties and cities to pass similar laws promoting domestic tranquility within the State.

One of the end results is the parade permit which the Day of Rage folks didn’t have.

Blocking the Brooklyn Bridge disrupted domestic tranquility by preventing others to use the bridge for legal purposes such as going to work, visiting family and friends, shopping or being transported to a hospital. The list of legal activities can go on and on.

Actually, it is lawful for the government to restrict 1st Amendment as to time and place. It’s the same justification for prohibiting advertising cigarettes in school textbooks. If the government makes a reasonable restriction, such as – you can’t protest in the middle of the traffic lane on the bridge – then it’s perfectly enforceable.

WALKABOUT, I guess you don’t remember the 1960s when the Vietnam protesters showed their forces, or the 1960s when the Civil Rights movement showed theirs? Explain exactly how their point is made when they hide (OK in plain sight) off the beaten path. What if they had stopped traffic on any one of the dozens of unsafe bridges in New York? Would that be OK to draw attention that maybe a bus full of people would perish if the bridge collapses. Lets fact it, the idea is to bring attention to the fact that this country is falling apart – from the mushrooming wealth of the upper 1% to the lack of jobs for the workers, to the bridges which are falling down while workers pray for the opportunity to work to fix them, to the banksters which are sitting on $Trillions, to corporate greed, to the complete disinterest in our Congress to even discuss putting folks back to work, to the cost of neccessities, to the enslavement of the middle class, to the simple intent of the right to do everything possible to diss the President and not caring that they completely ruin this country in the process.

I‘m perfectly fine with writing in Ron Paul’s name whether he gets the nomination or not, and will solemnly observe while you enjoy another 4 years of Barry the Tyrant.

Now troll along… go back under the Brooklyn Bridge…

Not a zombie mantra, far from it. Real talk is what that is. I’m not going to any reeducation camps (they’re gonna have to KILL me), and I don’t want to put anyone IN a reeducation camp. That’s your heroes at FEMA, the DHS and the FEDS in general who want to do that….to all of us.

We have Van Jones rallying his troops, the Black Panthers calling for war, Jimmy Hoffa calling for war, the southern border war and the Muslims and their American jihad………….and to top it all off we have Obama encourageing each and every one of these factions. There will be a civil war in this country and soon.

Except this time think it’ll be worse b/c of how much we’ve degenerated since then & who we have in the White House….the kind of people it took to vote him in. Back then we didn’t have that. The evil feminist movement was in the beginning stages….probably now nearing some kind of ending….one way or the other. Indeed, Glenn’s “Courage” rally in Israel was very appropriate and needed for such a time as this.

Yah, Anonymous is piggy banking off of the Van Jones, Union, and Soros paid communists that set this up. It’s called Day of Rage and their “reading material” that they provide at the General Assemblies is located at SDUK.US (google that) You will see it is a bunch of “neo-communist” drivel. Furthermore, many anarchist Leftists post meetings on blogs about the Days of Rage. In which they talk about “operation secrecy”… that is, letting secrets out about governments (ie. Wikileaks) in order to get people mistrustful of their sovereign governmental system. These people are sick in the head. Their next Rage is on Washington, this month. I encourage friends to look at the hilarity that is october2011.org

Only prob is, really uninformed and impressionable people see this Occupy Wall Street as a “real” event. HA!!! Ha ha ha ha!!! Real??? Ha hahahahahahahaha

I remember an university student, who was hit by a bottle thrown by a yahoo, most likely another student. It happened during a riot/protest in campus town next a premiere university. The student suffered brain damage.

So if protesters start throwing stuff, that is a deadly threat.
Any rocks, bottles, molotov cocktails that are thrown are deadly weapons. A riot police an being outnumbered can be considered a threat. Like Lenin said”Quantity has a quality all its’ own”. I don;t care what kind of gear an officer is wearing if he is surrounded, he is so screwed if the crowd wishes him harm. The handles of signs if it is thick enough and swung in a menacing manner is a threat.
All of the items/objects mentioned above have been used by protesters.

So is printing the names of children of officers & where they live. If & when a kid gets harmed, the FBI & others will track people down.

I think it smells like fish.

Start with the Communists and Anarchists, add the press to find an acceptable headline to make the cause palatable to the general public like “against unemployment and corruption” and then suck in a few more “useful idiots” who say “Hey! I don’t like corruption and unemployment is a problem either, maybe I should go protest”.

Then when the time is right the people who started this whole thing start trouble; wrecking private property, physically threatening the police, throwing things. The press then pulls out file footage of every TEA party person, Ron Paul supporter or GOP supporter who has graced the protest over the months and blames the destruction and violence on a TEA party movement, without ever actually saying it.

On the other hand you may be right, this could get very bad.

      Some unions are necessary.

At one time I was covered by AFSCME. They took my money and we got substandard wages.
When I worked in a nonunion shop, my wages went up 50%. I didn’t have to pay dues. Most unions in America are useless IMHO. They only serve to empower rich Democrat union bosses & Democrats like the fabulously wealthy Nancy Pelosi.

It is very sad when we are in a time of disparage and people are not organized to make change for a positive. How about protesting our alliance with communist, and abusive nations against women and children, or the UN…There are so many evils in the world and they are blind…
