New Video Slams Obama on Religious Freedom: ‘We Refuse to Beg for Our Constitutional Rights’

CatholicVote.org Launches Video in Support of Religious Freedom

The Catholic Church isn‘t backing down in the ongoing stalemate it has reached with the Obama administration over the government’s birth control mandate. Last week, The Blaze told you about the “Fortnight for Freedom,” a two-week campaign that is part of the Church’s massive plan to uphold religious freedom. The initiative will continue through July 4, with events being led by faith leaders across America.

CatholicVote.org, a non-profit group that works to organize Catholic voters, recently produced a video that encourages believers to stand up against the government’s new-found regulation, while warning of the consequences that inaction could breed. In it, Catholics and non-Catholics, alike, are encouraged to “stop the mandate.”

CatholicVote.org Launches Video in Support of Religious Freedom

“President Obama has managed to do something the Church has struggled to do on its own. His attack on religious freedom has awakened the consciences of millions of Catholics and united them in demanding the freedom to spread the Gospel in every corner of our land,” CatholicVote.org President Brian Burch said in a press release announcing the video.

(Related: Catholics to Launch Massive Religious Freedom Offensive to Celebrate the ‘Christian & American Heritage of Liberty’)

“We refuse to beg for our Constitutional rights. We’ve gone to federal court, and now with this video we’re hoping to build greater momentum with the American people with a simple message: religious freedom for all,” Burch continued.

In the clip, Cardinal Timothy Dolan is quoted and Catholics are encouraged to register to vote, study the Bible and pray. “Mr. President, you’ve awakened a sleeping giant,” part of the video proclaims.

Watch it, below:

This isn‘t the Catholic Church’s first use of viral video to drive home its support for religious freedom — and it likely won’t be the last.

A little off topic here but interesting how the media isn’t covering it. But then again it’s Iceland, which has been a dependent of the IMF (you and me, assuming you’re American) for years. Now what are they going to do in default? Sell ice to Eskimos? Let’s see how it plays before you get out your pots and pans, as if Obama and Gietner will just run for the hills!

We have to put a stop to the Progressives in power, they can have R, D or I behind their names, but all liberals are progressives, RINO’s are progressives…you can ID them by their votes! Cardinal George of the Archdiocese of Chicago.
“If you haven’t already purchased the Archdiocesan Directory for 2012, I would suggest you get one as a souvenir,” wrote Cardinal George. “On page L-3, there is a complete list of Catholic hospitals and health care institutions in Cook and Lake counties. Each entry represents much sacrifice on the part of medical personnel, administrators and religious sponsors. Each name signifies the love of Christ to people of all classes and races and religions. Two Lents from now, unless something changes, that page will be blank.”

To Long in the Tooth: You are so incredibly right. Yet, I am still not convinced that Obama is The Anti-christ. However, as a Christian, I will stand with the Catholic Church in defence of its “moral mandate” to reach out to the poor, sick, hurt, imprisioned, widows, and orphans”. Many of the best hospitals, orphanages, social outreaches, have been promelgated by those who felt the “call of God” on their lives. And Obama ought to remember: the very colleges he (supposedly) studied at….by what “endowments, we are not sure….were established in order that those who felt a “calling” in their life, might be educated in combination with the dedication of God in their lives. Is Obamam THAT ignorant of even BASIC American History?? So sad….

I hate the fact that a sitting potus makes the statement
the United States is no longer a Christian Nation!
It is like mandating us to ‘the curse’…
by telling the whole world and the country
Christ no longer matters in America! (as the President of the country)
It is appalling and whatever curse is to follow
it is at his hand alone!
Our country was founded on Godly principles
that are written in the foundations of the very buildings
that house these usurpers of hate, lies, and division..
The Founders knew that sooner or later there would be evil
that might sit in the leadership of this country and
their beliefs dictated that they publicly display their faith and
they did so in marble and stone! And we are clearly indebted
to their forward thinking that is an edifice to the Truth
there is NO SEPARATION of CHURCH and STATE!
Only in a stacked supreme court and spineless legislators
who refrained from overturing by law the edict of the court!
And so we find ourselves having to fight again and again in the courts
as they continue to try to strip away our first amendment rights
This has been going on since I can remember…
Let’s not forget who is proporting these stands..
but liberals, progressives, marxists and communists..
they alone want to destroy America from within
      in a continuous onslaught!
Know your enemy and do NOT compromise!

Right, the accurate translation is “Thou Shalt not Murder”. If it was “kill”, every person who defends his country with deadly force, every person who repels a home invader with deadly force, etc. would be committing a sin. Not so.

The Catholic catechism says the same; that it is not a sin to protect one’s family with deadly force.

Our nation is being attacked. This attack has been planned for years. The leftists/marxists see their window of opportunity as being now. They are moving. Full assault. The armies are in motion. Obama is their fool in chief; a figure-head really for those who are planning to do Christians in. This IS war. Make no mistake about it.

Nobody built a boat and put 16 million animals on it (how did the kangaroos get there?), Snakes don’t talk, etc. Why in Darwins name should I believe your legends as fact? Childish nonsense. What freedoms are you talking about? The right to own a gun and protect yourself? The right to free speech? These are fought for and people protest for them all the time. The tea party activists are not who the media say they are! they are out there trying to stop the government from killing our country with debt.
People should have been more up in arms when Bush enacted the Patriot Act! From not being able to feed the homeless in cities across this country to being told what food we can put in our mouths…even though the government wouldn’t dream of stopping the tabacco industry from selling a KNOWN KILLER because of the damn tax revenue. The Catholics are the largest healthcare provider for women and children in this nation! If we all don‘t get it through our thick skulls that the government doesn’t intend to try and shrink itself, but rather continue to grow in leaps and bounds to first destroy everything we hold dear and sacred and then control everything it can then we are doomed! We have got to elect individuals that are willing to make the tough choices now and americans have to be willing to help each other out when government is eventually cut back. Take a look at what the bus aide received from people. Are you telling me that we cannot do that on a regular basis to help those up who are in truly desperate situations? We need to control our spending and help those among us in need. People, take a look around, open your mouths and stand up for the US

You hit upon one. The Patriot Act essentially threw away our freedoms guaranteed under the 4th. Of course the NDAA did away with 5th and 6th. Brady Bill the 2nd. HR347 attacked another clause in the 1st the right to peaceful assemble/protest. It’s even a felony charge, which would totally strip away anyone convicted of his or her 2nd amendment rights. Eminent domain, property rights, death taxes… 9th and 10th amendments rights are gone. There’s a short list off the top of my head.

The Church has been speaking out in favor of protecting the lives of the unborn for years (Pro-Life position). Do not blame the heads of the church because the laity ignores what a candidate says and votes for him anyway. A few churches even said, after Obama was elected, that those parishioners that voted for him had better get their butts to confession. By electing someone that was clearly Pro-Choice and in favor of abortion, they had by extension committed a grievous sin.

Hopefully a majority of Catholics have learned from this grievous mistake and will be a huge force kicking him out of office.

Pfegler was in favor of Obama or if he was just in favor of a black man getting the nomination over a white woman because it would prove to the world that America was not a racist nation.

Those that voted to “make history” are the most to blame. They voted for him simply because he was black. Years from now, they will, hopefully, ask themselves “What the hell was I thinking?”
