New Whiteboard Video Attacks ‘Obama’s Education Takeover’

A new animated video created as a companion piece to Lance T. Izumi’s new book, “Obama’s Education Takeover,” accuses the Obama administration of exploiting education funding to nationalize the student loan industry and keep states jockeying for money by offering increasingly politically friendly curricula.
The video even accuses the Obama administration of using its power over Federal money to force states like California to dumb down their curricula. It also quotes one math professor who participated in writing national education standards talking about how pressure from “special interests” made those standards as low as possible.
You can watch the full video below:
Lance Izumi’s book is available from Encounter Books.

Posted on February 19, 2012 at 9:17pmSo you liked The Grapes of Wrath? Awesome. Personally my favorite Steinbeck book is Cannery Row, but that’s not political, just a humorous look at the times with some quirky characters.
Congratulations are due for your research!
Honestly Billy, I don’t think you should try to emulate Michael Savage in your posts. Yes, I understand that he has a PhD and has written books on how liberals are mentally ill. Maybe he’s right. Liberals are in favor of feeding the poor, healing the sick and asking the rich to part with some of their wealth to help those who don’t have enough to survive, as Jesus Christ did during his life. I understand your belief that altruism is an indicator of mental illness and your belief that greed and the selfish acquisition, as Ayn Rand said, it the highest purpose of Man. I understand many believe that, and I understand their belief that anyone would believes in the “general good” or the “common welfare” is mentally ill. Of course they are! You’d have to be mentally ill to willingly give your own money to others to help them through hard times. Poor people are poor because the choose to be poor. So why help them? You have to be mentally ill to think a country should operate in behalf of the average citizen. Thank God Almighty that economic inequality in the country is increasing! God wants that, and so it shall be.

Congrats for putting your post in the wrong place again.
Our conversation is actually elsewhere on this page.
You are misleading the readers here JZS. I never mentioned, or referenced Michael Savage.
The book I suggested to you was not written by Mr. Savage, but but Dr. Lyle Rossiter. And I linked to it below, but I’ll post it here again for you.

Posted on February 19, 2012 at 10:45amI think the video was a mix of truths, half truths and propaganda. I usually give no credence to videos that don’t mention sources by name. Like when the video says ‘the only mathmatician on the counsel said…..’ Why not give that guys name? Or it says ‘one pennsylvania study suggests…’ but never gives the name of the study or the researchers.
The delivery is good, but I would not buy any of it because of the lack of sources. Could it all be true- possibly. But propaganda pieces are rarely all true.
I am a conservative libertarian and no fan of Obama, but if we blindly follow propaganda we are no better than the scores of people on the left that do the same thing.

I am currently going to school right now to become an elementary or middle school teacher and it is scary to me how the government is intervening more than ever in education when they have no business doing so. Education is about the students and how they need to become functioning, productive citizens when they graduate high school and pursue whatever they want to . It just makes me sad to think, will future kids even have a chance in the real world? It seems to me our country needs to totally revamp the way students are being taught and Obama and the federal government are not the ones to do it! I hope and pray that when I become a teacher that I will hold kids accountable and push them to be the best they can be and for them to realize how to think for themselves!

Posted on February 18, 2012 at 2:59amThe video says that California received 1.2 million in federal funds for high school education, which supplemented the $250,000 the state of California provided from “sin taxes”, but as a consequence, employment among 18 to 22 year olds increased by 3.5% as a result of the increased number of people who graduated with from high school (over 5.2%). That resulted in a 2% decrease in the unemployment rate, which resulted in a net savings of 1.9 million dollars to California. That was presented as a bad trade-off in the video, but was it really?

But it’s fast enough that most people, people who want to believe they understand it enough to feel confident that, whatever the the person in the video is saying or about to say, or meant to say, is true, even if they are unable to recall any specific details, they, we all can be confident, given the expertly drawn and illustrated images, show that support of education by the administration leads only to children becoming more uneducated, because the origin of the educational movement by the present administration is based on the false premise that Americans are behind the rest of the world in educational standards, a postulate that is proven false by studies the world over, given that studies by prominent Universities prove that, in fact, the nationwide reductions in funds to schools has improved education, by removing the least capable teachers, eliminated the right of teachers to organize which has lead to a better education for American children, understand.

I heard plenty of pauses where periods would go if in written form.
It was certainly not presented the way you wrote your post.
It was a tad on the fast moving side, but not hard to follow at all. Perhaps it was done that way knowing that most younguns these days have little, if any attention span.

You typed it that way, because you use poor grammar all on your own.
