Newsweek Editor Tina Brown Calls GOP ‘Suicide Bombers’

On the heels of Chris Matthews remarks comparing the GOP to the violent, Islamic Wahhabis comes another MSNBC-delivered, hyperbolical reference to Republicans. This time, “Morning Joe” regular contributor and Editor-in-Chief of the Newsweek Daily Beast Company, Tina Brown, makes the comparison between the GOP and “suicide bombers.”

Subbing for a vacationing Joe Scarborough, Mika Brzezinski set the table for the conversation by turning an off-air conversation about the President being held hostage by the debt crisis into an on-air discussion:

    Yeah, I really am hopeful that all these lying strategies of the left will not have the desired effect as in the past and they just haven’t realized it or if they have, they don’t have any other and so they continue, hoping it works like it has. But not only have we awakened and been educated about how the left has duped us all these decades, we’ve learned about their strategies as well. Thank God! Before, I, for one, didn’t think about this stuff much. So now they’re getting even more desperate & really becoming more bold and raucous, which will further bring about their downfall.

    Guess we now can see why Tina’s rag mag is now selling for only a dollar! Seems to me even her own party peeps don’t want to read her trash! Newsweek used to be a great magazine, but when politics takes over for news, it becomes a pathetic joke on the publisher of said mag rag!

    Don’t raise the debt and they will be forced to cut programs-the only problem is they will say, just like the local and state governments that it will mean cutting police and fire, rather than bloated administrators and their extraordinary pay. the problem is the U.S. citizen hears that SS or medicare would be cut or not payed will scare just the right people. Just goes to show that you can fool most of the people all the time( see 2008 election).

    Interesting is the hypocricy of the leftist falling media – disagree with them at all and you are the equal to a terrorist or jihadist and other extremist factions seeking death over life.     Excuse my DSK French ladies, but this trampp has been on a roll of BS trying to move NEWSWEAK mags since laying out that whopping buck to purchase it which is all it was worth on the open market thanks to what a decade of Liberal bias and trashing the mag as brutally as a late term abortion.

      Ok let’s try and look at this intelligently. Debt was incurred in the past $10 trillion of it during Reagan, Bush Sr. and Bush Jr. for spending which exceeded tax revenues at the time. Now part of the solution is to reduce spending which of course is necessary. The problem is you can’t cut enough current spending to even begin to pay down the debt. Current tax revenues are down due to the recession, so it is no surprise that they are inadequate to cover the spending levels that were present under Bush. So a stance by the Republicans that there can be no tax increases or even reduction in tax breaks or credits is nothing more than cheap politics. Like any 5th. grader they can do the math. If they were actually serious about cutting the deficit they would participate in an adult discussion.

      Rook, you want adult, no tax increase to a level over 20% has ever increased revenue, no tax cut from levels above 20% to below 20% has ever decreased revenue. So any right minded adult would be demanding we cut all taxes to a rate below 20% to increase revenue in these hard economic times.

If you listen to Obummer closely, you hear the same rhetoric in all his campaign speeches now. When obvious facts are detrimental, then the next mission is to assault the character.
