Newt Gingrich: ABC‘s ’Good Christian Belles’ Show is Anti-Christian

Gingrich Accuses Good Christian Bells on ABC of Being Anti Christian

GULFPORT, Miss. (AP/The Blaze) — Republican presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich says a new ABC television series is evidence that the entertainment industry harbors anti-Christian bias.

Gingrich is criticizing the comedy-drama “GCB,“ which has also been called ”Good Christian Belles.”

But Gingrich is referring to the series by the name of the 2009 novel that inspired it, “Good Christian B—hes.”

The series began airing last Sunday. ABC’s website describes the series as a “funny, sassy and heartwarming drama.”

The former House speaker says no network would run a show with such a title if the word “Muslim” were used in place of “Christian.”

Gingrich says anti-Christian bigotry is considered acceptable by the entertainment industry but Islam is protected.

Gingrich made the comments Friday at a rally in Gulfport, Miss.

This is the ABC trailer for GCB:

And the Amazon page for the original book.

A percentage of women will be duped into watching because the actresess have great hairdos, wear pretty clothes, and live in fancy homes surrounded by luxury. It’s like a shopping trip. But while they’re watching, spiritual poison is being poured down their throats as they watch Christianity be denigrated and scorned.

This show might have gone under the radar and not taken so seriously if there were not so many other attacks on Christians at this time. That is part of the reason Christians are upset about the show. It’s just one more thing.
If you are not a Christian, you do not understand the insults we receive all the time. And if you look around, you will see how secularism is growing in leaps and bounds at the expense of freedom of religion. So if you think we are getting “our panties in a wad” as someone on this forum said, walk a mile in our shoes.

This is an attempt by Newt to steal votes from the Santorum crowd. I doubt that Newt has even watched the show. We’ve all known this type of “good Christian gal”. My neighborhood is crawling with them. They are some of the most rude people that you’ll ever meet; always sticking their noses in everyone elses business. Its not an anti-Christian show. It just plays off of the stereotype of the GCB. Lighten up, people. Oops, i forgot. This is the United States of the perpetually offended, where everyone is a victim

And, who has the nerve and voice to point out this bigotry?? NEWT.
If I were voting next Tuesday I would have to choose Newt Gingrich. First, I like him because he is so comfortable with himself. On the whole he presents himself as a calm, firm, deep thinking individual.

Newt’s ability to debate….everyone agrees that he would be great against Obama. Well, yes, I agree with that, and I also take that further. He will be able to debate those in Congress, change their minds, and speak with authority and conviction to foreign country leaders. He can make sense talking directly to the people. I don’t care what he had for breakfast, I want solutions. And, finally, I think he could be inspirational to the American people and get them moving again in the right direction with pride and determination to be the best that they can be instead of listless zombies standing around with their hands out for a freebie..

For over 40+ years we have turned the other cheek and had it repeatdly slapped with more and more leftist liberal crap. Look where being good Christians has gotten us. I don’t care how many wives Newt has had, he is the only candidate standing up to the main stream everything as usual crowd. I’m not looking for a morals candidate, I’m looking for someone who is a down and dirty street fighter. Someone who will take the business as usual crowd from both the left and the right, beat them to the ground and then stomp them silly.
The leftist liberals are always fighting, I say it is time to take up the fight and destroy them, at whatever the cost.
Continue to sit on your high white Christian morals horse and you are going to continue to lose the battles and the war. BUT, stop whining about losing all your freedoms to Barry and his crowd. Admit you are a wimpy, I’m willing to lose everything person and go hide in a corner.

Newt hasn’t done anything different than many of us. We all sin and come short of the Glory, but if the man is sincere in his redemption, and God DOES
forgive, who are we to hold that against Newt?

I‘ve done things in my life that I’m truly sorry for. Nothing you can do about it but ask God’s forgiveness.
Then we turn around and put that in our past and don’t repeat it. To let it tear you up is to return to the dogs vomit. When we’re forgiven, we’re forgiven………..just don’t return to it and keep God in your prayers and praise him giving thanks to him
When I look at the slate of candidates, Newt has been my choice because he understand almost everything that is required. It’s been a miserable last 3+ years and I don’t want it repeated.

I actually enjoyed it. Some of you need to lighten up and see the humor. There are some Christian women who act exactly like they do in Dallas, TX. Also Kristin Chenoweth is a Christian and feels this show does not bash Christians, but shows the humor in how they act. Until you watch the show from beginning to end, you can’t really make an informed decision or bash it based on the trailer.

As far as Kraft, that is too bad, because now I will boycott them. I’d be curious how many who filed a complaint actually watched the show. My guess maybe 5%.

Hey, been there, done it! Most say they are Christian because they went to Sunday school. They have the basics but until they submit themselves to Our Lord and Savior and be born again, it’s kinda like saying I like vanilla over chocolate. A basic meaning.
You must repent, be baptized and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. We all fail but we need to ask forgiveness, the Bible says it, I believe I, and that’s that. I’m not holier than thou, I just work at giving God the Glory and asking forgiveness when I fail. Becomes a way of life. We’re not perfect, we‘re all sinners but it’s what you do with your life after you are born again, and you ask forgiveness for failures
then go and sin no more is what Jesus told the prostitute at the well.

BTW .. I watched the first show to see what it was … they aren’t Belles .. they are “Bitches” .. but Christian … not so much. Just because you can quote Bible verses doesn’t make you Christian. And yes they are putting down Christians .. I bet they wouldn‘t do a show on Obama’s Rev Wrights style of Church and make fun of it .. but White Southern (mostly women) .. open season!

I watched the WHOLE show … believe me .. the way they depict Christians quoting Bible and backstabbing … is not “Christian” Let’s change it to GMB and see how long it lasts .. they can quote the Quran and blow people up.

Cat. ABC dont have the balls to go after muslims because the wimps know they would all get their heads chopped off. Christians are a much easier target

Fair enough. I’ll take your word on it, because I have no desire to watch it.

Oh I know ABC doesn’t have the balls .. nor does anyone in the MSM (but they don’t mind calling Christians racists for noting Muslim terrorism) … Yes ABC is Walt Disney Company … and I don’t do anything to support them ..

And in other news, apparantly, a tornado has sprung up from Walt Disney’s grave.

Are you for real. When I would receive emails from my ex or letters via snail mail they had Bible quotes written all through it. At the time it bugged me to no end. Now, it does not.

You need to get out more or you have never sat in with a group of women.

As a Christian, I did not see anything offensive or anti-Christian. Maybe I am not as tightly wound as you. Or maybe some of the humor hit close too home?

COFEMALE- Believe it or not, Walt built his empire on his genius and his family values. What is the value of bashing religion while promoting an agenda? Disney’s legacy has been hijacked by the left. I’ve sat in with plenty of groups of women in my time, and I know they can get nasty. I was raised a Catholic, and most of my friends were Catholic too. We were far from prudes, but bashing the Bible was never a part of our good times. Yeah, I’m a little wound, as I see my values and way of life being undermined on a daily basis. If and when they come for you, I‘ll bet you’ll be suprised.

Catb………I only made it through 15 minutes before turning the show off. I agree with you completely. It’s just an attack on Christians and southern women Christians this time.
