ATLANTA (AP) — Republican Newt Gingrich has formally jumped into the race for president.
In a post on Twitter Wednesday, the former House speaker says, “Today I am announcing my candidacy for president of the United States.”
In a YouTube video, Gingrich assures viewers, “There’s a much better American future ahead.”
Gingrich has been publicly flirting with the race for months. He said Monday he would seek the Republican nomination, telling fans to tune into Fox News on Wednesday night as he talked about his presidential run.
The 67-year-old joins a Republican field still taking shape.
Gingrich spearheaded the GOP takeover of the House in 1994, the first time Republicans controlled the chamber in four decades. He stepped down in 1999 after four tumultuous years at the helm.

That is the change I am looking for. We need to change back to the republic we started out to be. Revive the values of our founders.

Posted on May 11, 2011 at 5:38pmI’m sorry but anyone who thinks it his duty to chastise the public on which candidate to vote for simply to have greater authority of power for those with a (R) next to their name and not what gives a greater authority of power back to the people is destined to give your neighbor a tyrant. Abraham Lincoln once said “I will not be a slave, therefore refuse to be a master.” Newt is knowledgeable, true, but his principles lye with the Republican party not the Declaration of Independence.

Chris Christie – you bet.

Herman Cain? – Nope – good guy but no chance of winning
If you listen to Newt though – that man amazes me with his constitutional knowledge and his common sense thinking. He would be a good guy to replace Obama.

Posted on May 11, 2011 at 5:32pmWelcome Mr. Gingrich. We ahve been awaiting you.
You will be VERY popular because you are a former “Oath Taker” and you are almost the Exact Opposite of the President – in almost Every Way Imaginable. You are just his opposite in every way we define or describe a person or a candidate.
You have some pluses. You never lied (perjured yourself) about extra-marital sex or girlfriend abortions. And although you are hypocritical about divorces and military service (and ‘quitting’ as Speaker of the House before being expunged) you are a good, solid “anti-Obama” reformed RINO candidate.
Besides – win or lose, you will set yourself up make a pretty good profit, just from from the fact you ran. Trump does that too. And Palin, Huckabee, etc. No big (book) deal! Win-Win, no downside!

Report Post »Reading your first two posts, I can really relate to you as I felt almost exactly the same as you on each of the candidates you listed. I decided to do my own research on each one, using only their own words and actions and nothing that anyone else said about them. I concluded that Ron Paul is far and away the most consistently conservative and Constitutional not just of the current candidates, but in my lifetime and maybe since Thomas Jefferson. Please don’t let “he can’t win“ or ”he’s too old” arguements make you write off this once in a lifetime candidate. The ones who use those lines (including the neocons at Fox News) are afraid of Ron Paul because he would upset all the apple carts that need to be upset. *BTW Rand Paul will probably be as good someday but he’s not running and his dad has 25 years of consistent record as the most consistent and conservative in congress.

He exposes the unAmerican traitor Newt Gingrich’s outrageous proposals to throw out the U.S. Constitution, set up a world government, and radically reshape American culture into the more desirable “Jewish Utopia.” Gingrich proposes also the end of Christianity as a “Third Wave” sweeps away all vestiges of Americanism and terminates old-fashioned morality. Gingrich’s plan is for a “New Civilization.” Incredibly, the controlled media have totally bottled up this satanic agenda. Also explored: The possibility of Cantor, Palin, Romney, Huckabee, or a dark horse getting the nod in 2012.

Posted on May 12, 2011 at 6:56amSo far no real American has put his hat into the ring- just a bunch of RINOs. We don’t need someone who can beat the turd, we need someone who can beat him and do the job. It isn’t an either-or question.

President Obama – None of the Above.
Newt Ca-Ching! Rich! – ALL of the Above!
The GOP will have to hold our noses to “Vote 4 Newt”

Posted on May 12, 2011 at 9:04amThe “I’ll vote for anybody but (fill in a name)” attitude is what has gotten us where we are today. I absolutely detest the P.O.S. in the White House now, but to vote for someone just because they are running against Obama or have a “R” next to their name is just plain stupid. To me it is like choosing to be hung with a new rope or an old rope… either way you still get hung and dead. I fear that this country is D.O.A. after the next election… or pretend election.
Report Post »This is what happens when a society allows the murder of millions of innocent babies… we are getting what we deserve. I don’t think that the divisions in the U.S. can ever be healed. Negotiate? There is no middle ground on some issues. How can you find a way to please both sides of the ABORTION issue. THE CHILD IS EITHER MURDERED FOR THE CONVIENCE OF SOMEONE OR HE/SHE IS NOT!

Posted on May 12, 2011 at 10:05amI used to like Newt. Smart and intelligent, very good ideas, but he has said a few very liberal things since the last election. Very progressive things.
His position is to overhaul the country’s immigration system so that every worker in the United States is legal. “We are not going to deport 11 million people,” Gingrich said .

“I would vote for Newt over Palin – over a lot of them actually.”
Great, just what we need, another RINO candidate.
May remind you of Newt going all out to support Dede Scozzafava.. (she now works for Cuomo)
If Newt is the nominee, I’d like to congratulate Barak Hussain Obama on the occasion of his re-election.

Report Post »Newt is a progressive and seen supporting Nancy P’s global warming scam.
we don‘t need another McCain that can’t win.
McDaniel is a democrat in republican clothing and a progressive and believes that to give in to be able to govern that’s the last thing needed.
Ron Paul he thinks it’s it was wrong to take out Osama, it shows where he stands on the tracking down and eliminating the leadership of our Muslim enemy’s.
Romney is another rhino.
I like Herman Cain he will be a breath of fresh air in the Washington cesspool of politics .
