Nicki Minaj Performs an Exorcism on Herself, Speaks in Tongues & Levitates During Grammy Performance

Rapper Nicki Minaj was clearly looking for attention last night when she appeared on the red carpet with a man dressed as the Pope at the Grammy Awards on Sunday evening. While this appearance was bizarre in itself, Minaj’s performance took the use of faith and religion to entirely new heights, as the singer performed an exorcism (on herself), spoke in tongues and levitated.

It was nearing the end of the show when Minaj sang her newest single “Roman Holiday.” In a bizarre showing that has caused a slew of negative reaction and angst among the religious, Minaj trotted around the stage using religious elements in an attempt to gain greater notoriety. While it did, indeed, give her the most talked about performance of the night, people were more perplexed than they were impressed.

Those who tuned in for Nicki Minaj’s Grammy performance experienced a wave of emotion: First they were confused, then amused and then just plain angry. There was fire and a man dressed like the pope. Minaj levitated. Then, an exorcism. Viewers stared at their TVs, slack-jawed and unsure of what exactly they were watching.

The religious response to Minaj’s performance will surely be furious — the Catholic League is likely firing up its angriest press release yet — but fans’ reactions were fast and frank. They had no idea what sort of spectacle they had just witnessed, but few of them liked it.

      Is it just me, or does anyone else see the EVIL going on in this country. It became apparent after the Iowa caucuses with the initial delegate count as 6-6-6. Then Romney goes on debates claiming “this election is for the soul of America.” Then the superbowl half time show was a satanic ritual FILLED with symbolism. Wasnt Nicki Menajahtwa performing with madonna? Now this, only about a week apart and another satanic ritual. And they have the gaw of included “Come ol Ye faithful!?”

      This is the type of person that we must fast and pray for the conversion of their soul. Do you honestly think The Lord God wants His lost children, whom He created, to be separated from Him for all eternity? Do not revile them, but with compassion and Love pray pray pray for these lost souls. Here is a good intercessory prayer to say for others in need of conversion…
      Jesus, I urge you to forgive those sinners, so dark of soul, who will refuse the light of Your mercy.       I’m not religious like most of you are. Spiritual,… but not religious. But even I know that Niki Minaj’s performance was completely preposterous. To say that it was Satanic or Sacrilegious is a stretch. It was just plain stupid and a waste of time. I’m a musician and composer and I had friends in the audience there last night (one of’em got a grammy) and I can tell you with absolute certainty that stuff like this is NOT about music. It’s about theater and vanity and nonsense. I’m sure her performance was motivated by a desire for notoriety, nothing to do with talent. I don‘t know why the Grammy’s continue to cater to this kind of drivel but I guess there‘s a market for it and the Grammy’s are supposed to represent a cross culture of musical styles. It’s kinda pointless to let something like this upset you. It’s not evil,… it’s just boring and silly.

      This is not about religion, and you’re right when you brought up “theater and vanity and nonsense”, but it is also about spirituality. Is this ‘performance’ meant to serve her interests, or to honor God? Does this bring her spiritually closer to God, or hinder that relationship? Caution was given that you cannot serve two masters. Which master does this serve, vain notoriety or God? Some may ask, “Then all we do must be done to honor God?” Simple answer… Yes. But because of free will and our fallen nature we lose sight of this, which is why Utopia is impossible to achieve on our own. If her relationship was spiritually attuned to God she would have never performed that ‘act’ on stage. Again, fast and pray for her and all others with strained relationships with God.

      Unless I’m mistaken, you just allowed “junk like this” into your home through your computer. While I certainly won’t argue with the decisions you make in order to keep your home and family safe, merely “ditching the television” won’t do it. What I’d suggest is simply changing the channel to something more worthwhile.

      Your computer and television can be wonderful devices for healthy entertainment and education. Permitting moronic programs such as those who honor themselves for “talent” they don’t possess to force you into hiding from the world will be counter productive. Your kids will be subjected to this crap in one way or another. Providing them with a good foundation through your actions and teachings will go a long way to prepare them for the onslaught once you no longer have control over them. Or are you planning on keeping them locked up in the basement next to the dusty TV and PC forever?

      PaxInVeritate – although I agree with you that we need to pray for the lost, I’m allowed to say that what they are doing looks evil or is evil and is inappropriate for my family to watch and should not be on TV. I can call it like it is.

      This is why I don‘t watch the grammies and all that hollywood crap and why I didn’t watch the super bowl halftime.

      Girard1974, it wasn‘t easy to let television go and I probably wouldn’t view shows like this if I had it. I can tell you that it‘s amazing how much television can disrupt day to day living and I didn’t realize that until it was gone. I agree with you that other technologies can bring smut like this into our homes but we can and should monitor what our children see. Have you considered the idea that protecting children might help them to be repulsed by trash like this when they encounter it on their own? Also, I have noticed an improvement in the quantity and quality of time that I spend with them and my spouse. To my shame, I spent far too much time with the boob tube and far too little with my family when we did have television. It really is a blessing to be free of the world’s bombardment and our homes should be a santuary from that.

      Personally, I don‘t believe anyone can really question anyone else’s relationship with God. Or even if they have one. I know that many of these “performers” always seem to Thank God or Jesus when they are accepting their awards for their work. I think most of them genuinely feel that they have been blessed with the opportunities they have to be on stage performing and making records and enjoying some measure of success. And then there are those who struggle their whole lives to achieve some level of success and never get there, despite their belief in God. I can‘t say what Miss Niki’s true motivations were for her performance. I can say that I believe she deliberately chose subject matter that is a hot button and was trying to be provocative and outrageous for the shock value. To get people talking about her and ultimately,.. further her career.
      So to answer your question, personally, I think this was all about her. Not about God.
      I was not offended as a believer, I was offended as an artist. I thought it was dull and pointless. Just stupid.

      It’s this kind of garbage that made me decide to turn off the tube altogether and move on. It’s no longer about talent, but rather shock value.
      It’s the same with Comedy. Instead of being funny, it’s all about feeling awkward. What’s funny about that? Once in a while, perhaps, but now it’s commonplace and completely worthless.
      The best advice I can offer anyone is to turn off the ‘Idiot Box’ and read a good book about a subject that actually sparks your interest. Entertainment, along with it’s meagerly talented players, is dead.

       I can never speak to the disposition of anyone’s soul at any given moment of their life. That‘s God’s jurisdiction. However, I can evaluate if a relationship is vibrant and healthy, or if it is withering by how the partners treat one another. Actions and words have an abiding impact, either positive or negative, on any relationship. By observation of the performance, it can be said that it was not choreographed, nor the lyrics created to invoke a positive attitude or reference to God, priesthood, or the Sacraments, but to illicit shock value for the sake of vanity. How does a partner denigrate the other and not have it negatively effect the relationship and spiritual wellbeing? Mind you that it’s not God that separates Himself in the relationship, but Niki through her willingness to proceed with the set. I wasn’t offended but saddened for all those involved. From the red carpet to the applause.

      This was so nothing. Most of it was garbled. If I was running the show I would have had an orgy with Laurel and Hardy and B Cupps with Ann Coulter-Maher. I would have named the segment the day the Conservative Party was replaced by liberals. The only good thing about christie is he likes to get mouthy at a crowd. He loves gays and muslim judges.       Satan is not omnipresent! So he cannot be in everybody like Jesus can. However! He does have a legion of demons who go about the world looking for those souls in which to enter and devour. Read Howard Pittsmans account of these things first hand when he died in 79. Was shown the demonic 2nd Heaven escorted by angels. Satan is not in hell, nor are his demons. The appointed time has not yet come for this. For those who do not believe in demons I’ve got news for ya. Thats just fine with them, because it allows them to deceive you even more. Each has a speciality and there are no general practioners according to Pittman. Pittman dedicated the rest of his life to telling his story to the world. Look him up!

      Did I just judge Minaj? We are all called to bear fruit, and we are called to discriminate between good fruit and bad. From the abundance of Mrs. Minaj’s heart, her voice speaks and her dances flow. The evidence of the fruit she is bearing manifested itself on a world stage in Satanic rituals and worship of Baal. Her own actions judge her.

      @Itsjusttim: You have a serious reading comprehension problem. The verse you cite is referring to Judas as the him. Otherwise, where it says “Jesus said to him” would be the equivalent of “Jesus said to Jesus” which makes no sense. Jesus gave the morsel to Judas and told him to do it quickly. The “it” comes in chapter 18 when Judas goes with the guards to arrest Jesus.

      NEMO13 – Movie attendance is flat, though down from 10 years ago, yet income is up slightly from increased ticket prices. We must face the reality, the number folks who are sickened with Hollywood is limited. Those who are disgusted have already quit going to the theater and there is not much more ground to be gained.

      Stopped watching every award show when they became soapboxes for has-been and wannabe talents to get up and make political statements.
      The purpose of the award ceremony WAS to award TALENT and ACHIEVEMENT, not to make political statements and manipulate. I was crushed when “the flying nun” stood up and dropped F-Bombs!

      Now? Just a bunch of one-upsmanship, with each one trying to be more extreme than the next, all in order to try to get headlines to capitalize on their moment in front of a camera.
      The answer is, once they pull one of these stunts, never let them in front of the camera again.

      The producers of the Grammys have blood on their hands on this one. They knew what was about to happen and ignored it. Guilty by action or guilty by inaction.

God can’t be effected by their disrespect, but they will have to account for it someday.       Therein lies the problem. Many people are willing to be critical of someone’s performance, yet have zero issue downloading their songs or buying their DVD, CD, etc. for their child, friend or themselves. Yet if those with principled beliefs would not support them financially, soon they would lose their draw at the box office and become a Daryl Hanna supporting far left causes and simply getting arrested like the rest of the crowd with little fanfare. At the very least, they would alter their behavior so it at least appeared mainstream in the interest of financial gain and self-preservation.

      It’s so sad that people have gotten a stray from what is good in life! Not only that to waste your time on theatrical hoopla is just another way of saying I’m bored! I think of all the good things people have done like Whitney Houston and why it is so sad that she had to go the way she did. She did not intend to do such to her self, but it was a ticking time bomb! She got wild and crazy, drank a lot and had no regard in how careful she should be in taking good care of her self. I sure wish her daughter will learn from this and change her life for the better, stop taking drugs while being humble enough to know she cannot do it alone! Ask Jesus into your heart and pray that you will find the true love that you so need in life to go on! Amen!

      It is unfortunate that fro this high-profile venture she chose a costume that did not show off her butt. This is a true wonder of nature and has authentic star quality. It is surprisingly firm and well-shaped despite being impossibly large with a mass and volume normally found only in butts that have the shapelessness of a sack of cooked oatmeal.

      Remember, it was extremely high moral standards in 1956 that made Elvis’ shaking his pelvis and singing “Heartbreak Hotel,” unconcontionable. In retrospect, that really was innocent TV and high moral standards, but eventually, people stopped caring.

      Fast forward nearly 61 years, and now we’re watching someone named after a sex act mimicking being indwelt by Satan onstage, and some dopes are saying, “who cares?”

      What’s going to happen in another 61? Close ups on actual sex acts and mrurders/abortions/whatever onstage? At what point do you cross a bridge too far?

      I know my bridge too far was over 10 years ago. Now, I’m being dragged down this road by dopes saying “Who cares?” while Satan is being worshipped onstage.
