Hip-hop star Nicki Minaj has danced with controversy before, literally on the stage with M.I.A. when the artist expressed an obscene hand gesture live during this year’s Super Bowl halftime show, as well as experiencing a wardrobe malfunction during a recent performance on ABC’s Good Morning America. The appearance of Minaj and an unnamed accomplice on the red carpet during this year’s Grammy Awards is likely to garner its fair share of criticism as well. Getty Images photo of the 29-year-old draped head-to-toe in a scarlet Versace creation designed especially for her, accompanied by a man wearing attire similar to the Pope:

The Daily Mail reports on the audacious outfit:

“In a controversial move, the rapper arrived arm-in-arm with a man dressed up as the Pope.

Wearing a blonde wig and sequinned gloves, Minaj looked like a cross-between Red Riding Hood and a nun in a blood red habit.

A woman’s face appeared on the skirt of her dress. What seemed to be black pearls dotted the outline of the image.

According to insiders the dress is a reference to her upcoming song, Roman In Moscow. “

Minaj was one of the few celebrities in attendance at Sunday‘s event in Los Angeles not wearing black in observance of Whitney Houston’s sudden death Saturday.

    Glenn had better get his people on top of this “Exorcising Roman” bit done on the Grammy’s. It falls perfectly in line with what he has been saying about the ba‘alists and satanists and also THWCBM’s (The One Who Can’t Be Mentioned aka the “Won”) attacks on the Church and his scoffing and laughing at the Old Testament. Evil is shedding its disquises and revealing itself openly. These are dire times.

      It is just an attempt at shock bigotry. It is the same as if a white person walked the red carpet in black face. I doubt that the liberal media will even address this because they believe its ok to openly hate Christianity. She should have walked with someone depicting Muhammad. Then this issue would resolve itself.

      As others will likely observe, I ask why no one in the public eye would even think about performing a similar stunt featuring a figure representing Muhammad.

      Ooh, what a bold statement; freakishly mock symbols of morality, imply hypocrisy using a broad brush in order to promote and justify your lifestyle, impress your fans.

      It’s fun to tick people off, as long as they’re not your fan base, that is. It’s easy to tear up pictures, as long as there’s no threat to you.

      Are there any in the entertainment industry who would thumb their nose at clearly evil forces that openly threaten our allies and our country? “Oh, there’s no such thing as evil — except maybe among those intolerant Christians, Jews and conservative groups.”

      I am not a Catholic, but this brand of “look what I can do” belabored mockery is uncalled for, as well as uninspired.

      A sad irony in light of Whitney Houston’s death and one of the last songs she sang being “Yes Jesus Loves Me”. Hollywood would eat their own in a heartbeat just for the headline, and those that wouldn’t are too scared to stand up to the majority. What a pathetic dillusional bunch of sheeple, caught up in what they perceive as important, and missing the whole point of life. And on a different note: Hollywood will be Sharia Law’s first target!

      Unlike Islamic culture, of which this deceived girl is a harbinger, Western Civilization preserves and bears forward the works and struggles of those who came before us. All of it is to be found expressed somewhere in our civilization or preserved in the vast libraries of our institutions.

      The Islamic culture sees this preservation of the memories, works, and struggles of our ancestors, as a form of paganism or idolatry.       There are adherents to Islam that promulgate the notion that Islam itself is a conspiracy of the Jesuits. And that Mohammed’s wife was an agent of the Pope. And that Islam is a plan by the Vatican to kill the Hebrews by proxy. Just nutty stuff.     90% of the people watching tonight got their first experience of Nicki Minaj and wonder what was that..and where is my bread to go along with that circus of a display. I am sure she dropped a few f-bombs in the recorded music that she lip-synced too but it was to fast a not clear but there.

As soon as you said that I thought of the priest from the movie “Gran Torino.” I don‘t mean to rip on the Catholic Church but a Priest or Pope being celibate for life isn’t going to unlock some mystery or revelation. If anything, they’ll have a revelation that celibacy was a big mistake.

People like her and Tony Bennett are the reason I no longer care about the “modern” music scene and most of what it produces.       There’s nothing “modern” about it, since most of it relies on harmonic and melodic constructs that have been around 400+ years.

      Anyway, it strikes me that most popular music is highly logogenic, the music really just a vehicle for the words, with neither having true artistic value.

    That wasn’t even the half of it. The performance “Exorcising Roman” was the most offensive desecration of the Roman Catholic Church ever performed on prime time live television. I left it on just to see how far they would go. They went far enough. It would seem the rabid left is backing Obama in their widescale attacks on the Church. I hope the Church wakes up and realizes who they’ve fallen in with, if they turn and embrace Obama and the Satanists, then we can be pretty sure the end is near.
