Nigerian Churchgoers Club Suicide Bomber to Death After His Car Bomb Fails to Kill Him

Angry churchgoers at the headquarters of the Church Of Christ In Nations (COCIN) in Nigeria clubbed to death a would-be suicide bomber after his car bomb failed to kill him. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the bomber and one other, who both wore army camouflage, drove into the Church and beat the security before hitting the building:

“The bomb carrier jumped out of the vehicle just before the blast went off and attempted to run but could not move as he was affected by the blast.

The angry worshipers, however, descended on him and clubbed him to death.

An eyewitness and a worshipper in the Church, Joyce Dalyop, told NAN that there were arguments among the worshipers over what to do with the bomber before he was finally killed.

`Immediately they (bombers) entered the Church, one of them jumped out of the black jeep but luck ran out of him as the explosion affected him and so he could not run very fast before he was caught.’

`Some people even pleaded that he should not be killed; they suggested that he should be handed over to Police for further investigation, but others argued that the police could not be trusted and opined that the suspect may be released,’ she said.”

The Associated Press reports that the suicide car bomber killed three people and wounded 38. The radical Islamist sect Boko Haram claimed responsibility for the attack during an early morning service. The attack follows other assaults the sect has claimed against Christians in Nigeria’s north, widening distrust between the two main faiths in the multiethnic nation of more than 160 million people.

AP reports that Boko Haram has launched increasingly bloody attacks across Nigeria, including ones on churches like the Christmas Day bombing of a Catholic church that left at least 44 dead claimed by the sect in Madalla, a town just outside the country’s capital, Abuja.

The group also claimed responsibility for bomb attacks on Christmas Eve that struck Jos in 2010, killing as many as 80 people.

    I am beyond shocked that the AP has even mentioned the name ‘Boko Haram’ since they rarely report on the slaughter of Christians by Muslims. Nigeria is a war zone right now, they need our prayers Africa‘s great nation is under siege by iran’s funding of these terror groups especially Boko Horam.

    Christians don’t kill, but if this guy made it into the church, many more would of died. Those that clubbed him will feel remorse, unlike those that carry on these senseless murders of people, just like them, but of another faith.

      Their government is obviously not protecting them, for whatever reason, as evidenced by the REPEATED attacks on Christian Churches in Nigeria, and the repeated murders of Christians in Nigeria. How much are they expected to take before the take up arms and fight for their own survival?
      Are they to turn the other cheek when the first one was blown off by an islamic terrorist?
      When their wives and children are being murdered and raped ??

      Of course Christians kill. The “just war” concept is valid as well as self-defense and the defense of others. These people should feel no remorse. The bomber came to kill and kill he did. He just didn’t go to Paradise in the manner he thought.

      An example: Whenever a person says “Support Our Troops”, they are acknowledging the just war concept. What a person is supporting is the killing of others by our troops.

    Good for them …Christians and people everywhere must realize. We are at war with Muslims and Islam. Having done what we should have done 9/12. Sent the clear message .When you see our armies wave a white flag of surrender or stand and die for your misguided beliefs. Then destroyed to surrender all that stood in our way . This would have long been over. Victorious and united this nation would again been able to embrace its values and principles. Anyone who questions what happened to us as a nation and why we are in the shape were in. Now actually fighting looking for internal leadership to turn us away from “New age progressive Communism” . You just look back to the weakness in leadership like a half in half out progressive like bush gave this country. And added to the decapitation strike of our enemy by letting the nation fall into the sin of self gratification. That self gratification lead directly to a soul weak and misguided nation right into the hands of a Obama and “New age progressive Communism”. Now going forward people will see, it will now take the actions of the unknown or unseen to change the tide in this war.       You are absolutely correct Surhan, they did follow Muhammeds teachings in killing this man. The higher path would have been to follow Jesus and not kill him but the flesh is hard to deny.

      Contrary to popular belief, ‘Turn the other cheek’ does not mean to let the attacker attack you twice, or that you should allow yourself to be attacked. In that time in history, a strike would come from only the right hand, as the left was used for only one thing in lieu of toilet paper. “Turn the other cheek’ means to maneuver yourself so as to not give your opponent or enemy an opportunity to attack.

      No. Non-Christians teach that. Jesus taught to turn the other cheek, if someone slapped your right cheek, i.e., gravely insulted you. What I see here is a mass murderer on the attack.

    I‘ve been saying it’s about power and you never listen. All these Regimes (Assad, Hamas, PLO, Iran, etc.) try to maintain total power over their people and territories. To prevent unrest, they keep their people in poverty and say that Israel and the West are at fault. They then have justification to maintain total power for as long as they have enemies. In addition, destroying their enemies gives them more power over greater area. And yet you still support some of these regimes while condemning others.

    The Christian people in Nigeria are getting desperate because these Boko Haram Muslim terrorists are slaughtering them on a daily basis and they have no way to defend themselves against their continual attacks on them and their Churches.

    They have a terrible situation where these Boko Haram savages are getting away with their plunder all across Africa. They are terrorizing the people there. It’s what they do! Then they take their land and property for their own and kill them or make them as their slaves.

    They are now fighting back, as well they should.

      their government is standing up for them unfortunately their are many many many muslim sympathizers in the military and in high office. boko is funded by iran and weak people follow the money with no regard for consequences. it is so awful africa will have huge problems if nigeria is taken over by boko and stuck with more civil war and sharia law. so very awful. they always prey on the weak and it disgusts me.
