Nine Year Old Counter-Protester Takes on Westboro Baptist Church

Prior to this story, we could have easily accused the Westboro Baptist Church of having all the maturity of a nine-year-old schoolyard bully.
Except, as we now see, that’s an insult to nine-year-olds. Witness this photo of nine-year-old Josef Miles, of Topeka, KS, staging a one-man anti-Westboro counter-protest, courtesy of Gawker:
The Augusta Chronicle brings us backstory on the incident:
The way Patty Akrouche tells the story, her Mother’s Day gift arrived a day early Saturday when her young son mounted a quiet counter-protest to the pickets of the Westboro Baptist Church.[...]
After reading WBC signs proclaiming God’s hatred for homosexuals and other assorted groups, Josef asked Akrouche if he could create his own sign proclaiming his different view of God’s outlook.
His sign, written in pencil on a small sketchpad, read simply, “God Hates No One.”
And from his mother’s facebook comment about the incident:
I have never been prouder. Those people are scary but he stood strong, was respectful and stood by his convictions. He will be a good man, I have no doubt. I got my Mothers Day present early.
So hats off to Josef for putting these freaks in their place. Just one more piece of evidence that they will have precisely zero effect on anything.

God does love everyone, he cannot abide some of the deeds we do and words we say; hence love the sinner but not the sin. I am glad to see so many taking a stand against the madness of Westboroughs deeds.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn it, but that through Him, it might be saved.” John 3:16-17. By memory, so I apologize if I got some of the words incorrect.
Or, if that one isn’t good enough for you, we could try Romans 5:8 “But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.”
I’d give you more but these are just a couple off the top of my head that I remember. If it so tickles your fancy I can get back to you with more examples.

Posted on May 18, 2012 at 1:46amG-d does hate sin and sinners. Let’s make it straight. It is a grace period before the judgement day. When the Day come, HE will show us how HE hates sinners by throwing them with angles of evil into the LAKE of FIRE.
This is no joke. Westboro Baptist Church is right on Homosexual issue with wrong “tactic.” The boy is right on the Love of G-d but could be easily misunderstood and misused by the opposite side.
G-d hates sinner! However, thank G-d, HE gave us antidote of sins; that is, JESUS CHRIST.

Posted on May 18, 2012 at 2:05am@Adeleeeee… Go read through the Bible; PLEASE. NEVER does it say in God’s word (not once) that God HATES people. It says He distributes and pours out wrath, but NOT that He hates someone. The fact that you say God HATES sinners is one of the most asinine, ignorant comments one could make about God. God hates SIN, not SINNERS.

Posted on May 18, 2012 at 5:10amIf G-D doesn’t hate sinner why there is HELL? We have to respect the fact that G-D will create HELL when the DAY of judgement comes. We haven’t saved yet but on the path of salvation. It is possible to fall from grace and not all the people will be saved. You really have to understand that. No repent, no salvation. G-D will put HIS ultimate judgement to the sinners. So G-D hates sinners.
We have to understand the Scripture by words not sentiment. I am a sinner and fortunately I found antidote of sin, Jesus.

Posted on May 18, 2012 at 9:19amADAEEEE, You aksed “why is there a hell”. This confuses me since you delete the “o” from G-d as if you were a Jew. The deletion of the “o” comes from the rabbis not the Torah. Jews do not believe in the Xtian concept of hell. There is no reference to a burning lake of fire anywhere in the Hebrew scriptures. In your english translation you will see the word “hell” appear but in the original Hebrew the word is “sheol” which means pit or grave, nothing more. Seems you may be a little confused and piecing two different religions together to make something new. Either be a Jew or a Xtian, don‘t try to be both because they don’t mix that way. Sorry, not trying to be trollish, just expressing a view. I’ll get off of my soapbox now. This is America! You’re free to believe anything want!

The A holes from the Westboro Baptist church protested at the funerals of the kids who were killed in Chardon Ohio and military funerals. There is a special place in Hell for anyone who promotes their own beliefs and interpretations of God’s intent or wishes. Evidently the Hell’s Angels follow the Westboro group around now and disrupts their lunacy. Let‘s hope the Hell’s Angels begin taking them out one at a time so they can enjoy there spot in hell. Oh, come on. You aren’t serious? God is spelled God in our English version of the bible, which isn‘t the original version and God isn’t His original Hebrew name. So don’t get your panties bunched.
The Jewish religion does not allow a person to spell G-d out because the written name of God (specifially the Hebrew name of God but some do it with the English name) cannot be erased or destroyed. If they spell it out in writing like here, it is likely to be destroyed. This is out of respect and reverence. Not because the poster is some sort of freak.

Satan is an anglicized version of the Hebrew word for “adversary” or “accuser”…basically the DA of Heaven…well he is a lot more but we are just going by the words meaning here….Jesus Christ would be the best Defense Attorney in the Universe…God would be the Judge and well, is the Judge, Creator, Father, and Lord of the Universe…but again…that is a side note…
Satan was simply a device…a term…used to describe that on the Day of Judgement when all mankind has to atone for their sins against God…there will be an entity, angel, whatever…that recounts all of your sins to God out of the Book of Life that you write every second of every day you live…
Satan is often confused with Lucifer, the Evening Star, 1st among God’s angelic host of assistants, all created by God, out of God’s Word, and ever present with God. They are His messengers, workers of miracles, and they carry out His commands without question or exception.
Now many will bring up Lucifer’s “fall” from heaven due to challenging God on putting mankind above the angelic host, giving us a soul, and giving us the ability of FREE WILL, the greatest of God’s gifts. That means not only do we get to be with God for all eternity but we can chart our own course while on Earth. Many would say Lucifer’s “fall” means God is not in control.. WRONG! There is a simple phrase a learned many years ago from a wise man…
GOD ALLOWED…

Resulting in eternal damnation if a sinner does not turn to Gods love and forgiveness. What Christians need to do is to keep reminding people of sin and to turn to God. Would you let your four year old child play in the street if they wanted too? No, you would keep reminding them of the DANGER of playing in the street and that is what Christians need to go with sinners and not just adopt the politically correct thing to do.

Posted on May 17, 2012 at 10:28pmActually what we are “saved” from is that we are saved from our own sins with the ability now to “clear” the list of our sins for salvation to get into Heaven.
I hate to disappoint someone who obviously makes it easy to follow the Bible by selectively choosing specific verses and therefore is able to put a preferred meaning to it. (1)God does NOT hate anyone! (2)God hates the ACT! (3)Jesus IS God in human form (no matter how someone wants to try, they cannot separate God and Jesus. (4)God is PERFECT Love! (5)God is PERFECT Justice!
As a “breakdown” of the Trinity – God is the “Judgement”, the Holy Spirit is the “warner” and Jesus is the proof!
Contrary to popular Christian belief, the ONLY difference there is between Judaism and the religion that people (starting with the Romans in a derogatory manner) know as Christianity is that Judaism does not believe the the messiah has come yet while the Christian Church follows Jesus (with some disregard and minimization of God. What people have come to know as Christianity is actually a Jewish Religion. Christianity in God‘s and Jesus’ eyes is Judaism with all who follow Judaism, recognizing and accepting Jesus (Yeshua) as the true Messiah. If people want to separate Christianity from God and the Jewish beliefs, prepare for God to separate these “Christians” from God, from the true Messiah and from eternal life with Him. Remember Jesus said we are to pray to His Father NOT to Him.

What the Bible says is that God was dealing almost exclusively with the Nation of Israel from Genesis chapter 12 through the middle of the book of Acts and Jesus didn’t deal with gentiles at all during His earthly ministry.
After the Stoning of Stephen we see a transition begin to take place from Judaism and the Jews to the Body of Christ made up of both Jews and Gentiles concluding with Acts 28 and the final rejection of Jesus by the Jews.
God gave the Nation of Israel many warnings in the OT that He was going to turn to another Nation and provoke the Jews to Jealousy (Deut. 32:21) and in Romans chapter 9-11 the Apostle Paul declares that the Judgment of God has finally been executed and with the exception of the remnant, the Jews and their religion have been cut off.
Here’s the thing…Some of the Jews accepted Jesus as the Messiah but they weren’t willing to let go of the Law so they promoted faith in Jesus plus the works of the Law for righteousness under the leadership of the 12 and James, the Lords brother. They didn’t like the message of salvation by grace through faith which God gave specifically to Paul and verified it with many special miracles. The followers of the Jews became the Catholic religion and the followers of the gospel preached by Paul became the Protestants. The conflict between these two groups continues even today.
From your words it seems that you are following the Jewish believers and sticking to the Law alone…good
Report Post »memyselfandi
Posted on May 18, 2012 at 10:25amCont…Good luck with that…you are responsible for keeping all of the 613 laws plus the things Jesus added to it in Matthew and Luke. Do you have a savings account? Have you sold all of your possessions and given to the poor…and are you relying on God alone to take care of you needs like the birds of the air and the lilies of the field do.
The gospel of the Kingdom has been suspended…the body of Christ has been given a different program than the Jews were given to provoke them to jealousy until the times of the gentiles is complete. When the gentiles fall into unbelief as the Jews did, God will remove the gentile branches, turn back to the Jews and complete the Jewish program and prophesies, including turning back to the Law.
That is what the Bible says if you read all of it.
