‘No Chores’: Occupy’s May Day Strike Targets 1 Percent and…Parents?

Occupy Wall Street has been accused by many people of adopting an overly adolescent tone in its attacks on the “99 percent,” and of acting adolescent in its sometimes violent resistance to evictions. But now, after losing union support, it appears to be deliberately targeting adolescents. Buzzfeed has a story about both phenomena, and also, brings the following poster to the public eye:

Occupy Wall Street Plans May Day General Strike With No Chores and Without Union SupportNote the prong “no chores.” Highlights from the Buzzfeed story on Occupy’s planned “May Day General Strike”:

“It won’t happen,” said Stuart Appelbaum, president of the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union and one of the first labor leaders to embrace the Occupy movement. “They are not working with the unions in a serious way yet; nor are the unions working with them in a serious way. And it is the wrong strategy.”[...]

Even the occupiers themselves aren’t totally clear on what the general strike will consist of without labor support, though organizers admit that the strike can only go so far without the unions striking.

“We do expect people to not work,” said organizer Max Berger. “Just in terms of participation by labor organizations and mass people not working, we‘re realistic about where we’re at and what ‘s possible.”

Occupiers have also described the protests as a “day without the 99%.” Evidently, that means that any parent that asks their child to do chores has been conscripted into the “1%.” Given that as of 2009, 46% of households had children, one hopes this “no chores” instruction won’t also imply “no math homework.”

What this country needs is a (permanent) luxury cruise for American OWSers, Commies, Progs, Libs, etc. that takes them out of the country and deposits them to Europe (permanently), which is where they all say they want to go anyway. Also could provide stops to China, Russia, Cuba, or a very special North Korea travel package. Here’s the catch. They have to man the ship. Yes, actually WORK, in order to get across. But that’s a nearly impossible move. -_-

Going after kids now, not to do their chores. What a bunch of pathetic LOSERS! I‘m surprised they haven’t called on germs and viruses to stand with them too – C‘mon buggers don’t make anybody sick on MayDay! How about death – Come take a holiday with us, Grimmy! That poster says it all: the Grateful Dead meets Peter Max at Karl Marx’s house.

My kids know better than to pull off that mess at our house.

We were just talking about Andrew Carnegie in school today. As a boy, he worked 6 days a week for 12 hours a day for what amounted to 1.6 cents per hour. Of course, he died with $22 million, even though he tried to give it all away and die poor. That is the kind of person that made America great.

Huh. I guess you‘ll have plenty of uninterrupted time to destroy people’s work places, homes and streets. Is it then that you will attempt to insert Communism into the minds of free Americans?

You overtook the democratic party, drugged them up with pills for depression and any other malady you can invent, started paying their housing, unemployment, food, medical, birth control, etc., told them they were all under-privileged, under-appreciated and under-paid, and taught them to poop in public, condemn anyone who disagreed with them and harm anyone who gets in their way.

Now you have a group of people who have the mentality of a ten year old, no skills whatsoever, inability to think, reason, make a decision or be independent of the ‘party’.

If you have spent your life living this way, I pity you. If you have decided that Communism would be good, you haven’t lived under Communist rule before. If you believe that, if your goal is achieved, the world will be a better place, then you have never been educated.

But then, you don’t think like normal people. You’re violent, dirty, dishonest, Godless and without a country. Where will you turn when your Communistic plot fails…again. Venezuela? I hear the people ae starving there. Russia? I hear they drag people from their homes if they SUSPECT they’ve done something. They disappear.
The one thing all of you can tell your children and grandchildren is that you make sure none of them would ever taste fr

Love it! It’s a train wreck we can prepare for and sit back and watch. I will have my cold beverages, popcorn, and an easy chair all purchased with my own money. I will enjoy watching those that didn’t think ahead complain about it. Later in the protest I bet I can get my lawn mowed cheap and a low dollar foot massage.

      True

      It’s clearly communist think
Teach children there are benefits for not working

Similar, yet reversed argument used on Verizon last month.
If the service is cancelled, do you still send a bill for the service?

Verizon understood that argument very well
After 12 years, the accounts were cancelled
Received an interesting mailer from the ‘recovery’ department yesterday.
      Considering the offered discount …

BTW, has anybody calculated the heap of taxes + ‘fees’ piled onto a communications service at the consumer end?

Paying the non-worker by taxing the worker/consumer?
      That’s communist think …
Yes, I’m talking to you, Mr. Barry Soetoro

Good one Attila. I have seen their hovels on tv. Disgusting.
Btw- was in San Francisco visiting family during the Right to Life Parade. In January.
There were 5-10 thousand demonstrators for life. About a dozen OWS against.
This was not in news the next day.

A little bit different. On May Day the OWS is supposed to upset mommy and daddy by refusing to do chores. If if their parents to punish them, these kids may not be allowed to use the computer in mommy’s basement for a week. Punish? Sorry, what was I thinking?
