‘No Pressure’: New Environmental Campaign Glorifies Eco-Fascism

The latest anti-global warming campaign aimed at getting people around the world to reduce their carbon footprint has backfired. Big time.

The people behind the “10:10″ campaign, a movement encouraging people to reduce their carbon consumption by 10 percent in 2010, have been forced to pull their controversial new advertisement from the internet after widespread public outcry. The gruesome 4-minute ad depicts global warming skeptics being literally blown to pieces after their tree-hugging friends insist they’re under “no pressure” to modify their carbon consumption.

Warning (via Sad Hill): “Do NOT watch this video if you wish to avoid portrayals of extreme violence, genocide, child murders, demonic practice and terrorism — all in the name of environmentalism.”

Unfortunately for the “10:10″ folks, the public disgust surrounding the video outweighed its message and its producers pulled it from the web. Equally unfortunate for them, however, is the rampant re-posting of the video by bloggers around the world.

While the video’s message may have backfired, many point out that it gives a scary glimpse into the mind of today’s global warming alarmists. With its “No Pressure” campaign, writes the UK’s Telegraph, “the environmental movement has revealed the snarling, wicked, homicidal misanthropy beneath its cloak of gentle, bunny-hugging righteousness.”

    This video is absolutely disgusting and is one of the primary reasons more people won‘t listen when it comes to ’Global Warming’. How is this supposed to convince anyone to reduce their carbon footprint. I probably do more in one weekend than some of these people in a whole year.

      Absolutely correct. The EPA is actually an illegally fomed arm of the government. It answers to noone and there is no oversight of it. The environmental movement is nothing more than a way for them to impose their control while making it seem like a noble cause.

      It’s right out of the marxist handbook.
      - Decide on a method in which you can control the masses and guise it as a solution to a non-existant problem
      - Enlist propaganda specialists to inform the people of the immenent disaster if the non-existant threat is not addressed.
      - Implement policies that actually create the problem.
      - Let the masses beg you for the solution your propaganda has been telling them they needed.

      Funnt little fact i ran into a few months ago.
      Remember the volcano that irrupted in iceland/greenland? WEEELLLL, it was estimated that in the first week of its eruption it spewed out more CO2 and Sulpher Dioxide than the entire history of human industry dating back to the 15th century. You can not justify that by changing your light bulbs and riding a bike can make up for that. It is obsurd to think like that.

      The earth has a defense system in place to bring itself back into balance, its called plant life. the more CO2 in the atmosphere the more food the plants have, the faster they grow, the faster they produce oxygen and fruit. Hmmmm… I say go plant a few trees and call it a day.

      Did anyone notice that the two children who were blown to bits and the three adults at the corporate firm never were asked why they weren’t endorsing the 10:10 plan. They were just executed. The guy on the soccer (football) field was focused on the game and the voice over announcer had done her “part” to further the cause, but that wasn’t enough.

      Can someone explain something to me. I am really confused…but I guess I am one of the unenlightened. All of these ads, etc talk about reducing “tons” in this case 500,00 Tons ” of emissions of CO2. Is gas measured in terms of weight? I know “carbon” might be, but is carbon dioxide which is a gas, measured in terms of weight?

      Marx said that, in order to take over a country, as many as 20% of the people would have to be killed, so that their voices would be silenced.
      If you look at the commercial in this light, you can see that it is in line with Marxist thinking. Eco-Fascism is a useful term, because fascism and Marxism are both spin-offs of a socialist mindset, but I think this is actually more of a view inside the mind of a Marxist, and of their vision of the world.

      Has anyone thought about the fact that plants, which produce the oxygen we need, consume carbon dioxide to live? Severe reductions in carbon dioxide would starve the very organisms that make the oxygen WE need to live.

      We breathe oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide. They breathe carbon dioxide and exhale oxygen. A perfect relationship!

      Levels of oxygen and carbon dioxide have fluctuated throughout the millennia without any influence from man’s puny influence.

      Independent Tess is correct. During the winter months when we could seal our greenhouse we would inject co2 at 4 times normal atmosphere. Our plants grew quicker and photosynthesis made the greenhouse oxygen level higher. Because my wife worked in the flower shop. I kept the kids with me in the greenhouses in a crib or playpen. As a result at seventy, myself and my kids are healthier than most. Can’t say the same for my wife.

      This is simply big government and ruthless speculators trying to game income by taxing the air we breath with the help of their org friends. Its pure insanity doing this in a manor that deprives humanity of oxygen. Do they want us all brain dead.

      These nuts win by taking each cause out of context. They should be fighting for higher oxygen levels. 70% of our photosynthesizing plant life is in the oceans as plankton. Sharks kep the level of fish that eat plankton in balance. In the us we have a law against taking of shark fins without harvesting the rest of the shark. Why are these groups not fighting for an international moratorium and policing on shark fin harvesting instead of trying to get the government to give them money for absolute craziness.

      This runaway government into crazy solutions makes the case for repealing the sixteenth amendment and putting fed taxation back in the hands of the states with something like the fair tax, but don’t trust the paid lobbyist to make it happen because they loose their jobs if it passes. It up to us to fix this.

      One of the problems with blaming CO2 for global warming is that CO2 is indeed necessary for plant growth. Increased CO2 supports plant growth, which in turn can increase the albedo of the planet, which would tend to reduce global temperature. In part, this is why scientists still cannot tell for sure what will happen. There are too many variables and some of the processes are still not well understood.

      For instance, increased ocean temperature would cause increased water vapor content in the atmosphere. This additional water vapor would tend to produce additional cloud cover. This would also increase the albedo of the planet, which would work to reduce temperature.

      It is because of complexities like this that global computer models still need a lot of work.

      staythecourse – CO2 has a molecular weight (see the periodic table of elements). All the elements have weight…but it is just a tiny amount of weight. Does that answer your question? It does seem strange to think of gas as having weight, but it does!!

      Stay, the easiest way to understand measuring gasses in actual physical wieght is to look at compressed gasses, like those oxygen tanks you use for scuba diving, or the ones that hospitals use. Pick up a full canister compared to an empty one and you can clearly feel the wieght of pure oxygen. Carbon Dioxide is a bit more tricky, because it is a chemical reaction caused by carbon being burned(more specifically, being oxidized), which binds one Carbon molecule with 2 oxygen molecules. There is some sort of conversion of Carbon Dioxide from liquid (compressed) state to gas, which I am not sure of, but that is how it is determined that a certain amount of gas produced equals a specific physical weight.

      One last note: You mentioned tons and tonnes. A US Ton (standard system) is 2,000 lbs. A Tonne (Metric) is 1,000kgs, or roughly 2,200 lbs. Completely different systems of measure for what seems to be a similar term.

      If you still have a hard tiime with the gas has weight concept, try this. Get a basketball and let the air out. Weigh it. Then fill it with air and weigh it again. The ball weighs more inflated than empty, ergo, gas has weight.

      Yes, you can measure gasses in tons. It’s a basic operation done all the time in chemistry. You take the mass of a CO2 molecule, and multiply it by the number of particles in a certain amount of gas, which can be measured based on the volume, temperature, and pressure. It might seem strange, but “tons” can come from either a metric ton, based on mass, or by finding the actual weight of the mass and gravity.

      Ever hear the Niemoller passage about no one being left to protest when they finally came knocking for YOU after they’ve taken away the Jews, the Catholics, the Blacks and all the rest? Think about that the next time you see smokers being thrown out into the street. And think about what built the basis of acceptability for the global warming ad above.

      It doesn’t matter that the ad got pulled from the air: what matters is that we’ve raised a generation that believes this sort of hate-targeting of an unpopular opponent is acceptable.
