Noam Chomsky Calls Bin Laden ‘Unarmed Victim,‘ Says He Deserved ’Fair Trial’

According to “philosopher” and “cognitive scientist” Noam Chomsky, U.S. leaders violated international law in their pursuit and subsequent assassination of Osama bin Laden.  In a piece for Guernica, Chomsky wrote:

It’s increasingly clear that the operation was a planned assassination, multiply violating elementary norms of international law. There appears to have been no attempt to apprehend the unarmed victim, as presumably could have been done by 80 commandos facing virtually no opposition—except, they claim, from his wife, who lunged towards them. In societies that profess some respect for law, suspects are apprehended and brought to fair trial.

Like Michael Moore, Chomsky clearly believes that bin Laden – an “unarmed victim” – deserved a “fair trial.”  Bizarrely, Chomsky identifies Osama and the others who perished alongside him as mere “suspects,” as he claims that the U.S. has never furnished the proper evidence needed to definitively pin the terror attacks on bin Laden and his cohorts.

Noam Chomsky Calls Bin Laden ‘Unarmed Victim,‘ Says He Deserved ’Fair Trial’

Chomsky seems to believe that bin Laden’s involvement in Sept. 11 is unsubstantiated, but we’ve known about bin Laden’s fatwa (declaration of war) against America since at least 1996.  And, in a 2004 video release, bin Laden, himself, took credit for his involvement in the attacks.

But, it gets worse.  According to Chomsky, George W. Bush’s crimes “uncontroversially…exceed bin Laden’s.”  As if this absurd assertion weren’t enough, Chomsky also attempts to gain reader sympathy for the Pakistani government:

We might ask ourselves how we would be reacting if Iraqi commandos landed at George W. Bush’s compound, assassinated him, and dumped his body in the Atlantic.

This comparison is perplexing, considering the fact that bin Laden was a wanted fugitive who has never been considered a national leader in Pakistan.  George W. Bush was an American president.  The idea that the Bush assassination he outlined mirrors, in the slightest, bin Laden being found and rightfully murdered in his non-native Pakistan is a tough sell (and a terrible analogy).  If protecting one’s nation is a crime, then labeling George W. Bush “guilty” is certainly appropriate.

You can read Chomsky’s piece in full here.

Wonder how he would take to standing in a room with a terrorist who has sent hundreds to their deaths wearing suicide vests. And, might have one strapped to him or triggered electronically I would have tossed a live one in there before going through the door. My training told me better him than me in a life-or-death scenario. If one of the wives and a few kids go out with him that’s his fault for having them with him in the first place.

I see Chomsky taught at MIT forever and probably gets that monthly retirement check for his years of putting liberal mush in kid’s heads.

Here’s the deal. We’re at war with Al Queda. OBL made war against the USA through Al Queda. It’s a perfectly legitimate military strike.

Mr. Fatarse Moore had previously stated that we even granted trials to the Nazis at Nuremberg. Yes, that’s true. But the war was OVER. The Nazis had SURRENDERED. Until we sign a binding treaty agreement with all the members of Al Queda, the war is still on, bud.

The u.s. never really cared about finding evidence that bin ladin did it because then we might have to provide evidence for our other acts of aggression like iraq. Chomsky is a little hard to understand if you dont understand humanism or universal human rights. Look into what the u.s. did in chile, nicaragua, and iraq, and his position is more understandable.

And, who is Noam Chomsky? Well…let’s see…

“Whatever evil exists in the world, the United States is to blame.” His intellectual obsession is America and its “grand strategy of world domination.” In 1967 Professor Chomsky wrote that America “needed a kind of denazification.” The Third Reich has provided him with his “central metaphor” for his own country ever since.

Chomsky was one of the chief deniers of the Cambodian genocide of the 1970s, which took place in the wake of the Communist victory and American withdrawal from Indochina. Chomsky tried to minimize the deaths (a “few thousand”) and compared those killed by Pol Pot and his followers to the collaborators who had been executed by resistance movements in Europe at the end of World War II. By 1980 it was no longer possible to deny that some 2 million of Cambodia’s 7.8 million people had perished at the hands of the Communists. BUT Chomsky continued to deny the genocide, proposing that the underlying problem may have been a failure of the rice crop. He was still denying the truth well into the 80′s and insisted that whatever had happened in Cambodia, the U.S. was to blame.

He was born to Jewish parents and is an anti-Semite…he objects to the founding of the state of Israel!

Chomsky is truly an evil man who, unfortunately has tremendous influence in our country.

While his work in context-free grammars is the basis for compilers in computer science, basically everything else he’s done has been repeating communist lies. I mean this literally – go back and read the lies that Stalin was having American Communists spread before WWII (that the war was caused by France and Britain ignoring Germany and the USSR’s peace efforts) and compare them against the nonsense he likes to spread. They’re of the same flavor, and equally vacuous.

Mr Chom‘p’sky, you think a mass murderer is an innocent victim? You think this man had his arms in the air surrendering? You think this murderous bast__d deserves a fair trial, afforded the rights of an American? You are daft beyond reality. Since you are a communist I expect no less, becuase of your belief in ‘social justice’. Pray tell, go ask all the Russians, Jews, Chinese and Cambodians about their ‘social justice’, when they were exterminated by the millions, in the name of communism, socialism and fascism. No sir, you are a charlitan, and a fool. You better have that skin cancer on your face checked out, nasty stuff that cancer is. You sir, are a cancer on America! Bush is a Patriot, and you are a traitor. Some day you will be brought to justice and judged by a higher power than me.

I too think that Osama was as guilty as they get, but we DO have laws!
The moments we are tempted to break our own laws are the moments where we can either shine or show that we are still babarians.
Here we could have thaught the world a lesson in justice, liberty and the american way. But no, we want our revenge, we act like every babarian did before us.

You cant be better than that but believe in american exceptionalism? You make me sick.
Torturing is fine because it lead to the killing of Osama? Really?

Why do we have all these courts, these laws, this justice system? If someone knows for sure you are guilty he should just punish you, case closed. What works in pakistan will well work here too.

Okie from Muskogee: Very thoughtful post; however, I believe everything associated with 9/11 needs to be far far far more thoroughly investigated.. My god there are so many questions and unknowns when one even takes a slight peak into the events.. You can’t even begin to review even one aspect of it without having to ask another 10 questions. I realize most that follow the Blaze are FOX news Zombies and they believe that FOX puts out the Gospel truth today but one must take their view of 9/11 with a grain of salt in my opinion.

More important is your concluding remarks which are spot on.. People don‘t realize that they have opened a door for anyone which the Go’vt may claim as a “terrorist” to be taken out unarmed. Extremely dangerous scenario given that they have already labeled possibly everyone on the Blaze as terrorists!

It’s increasingly clear that the operation (to fly planes into the Twin Towers) was a planned assassination, multiply violating elementary norms of international law. There appears to have been no attempt to apprehend the (American) unarmed victim(s), as presumably could have been done by (two massive airplanes) facing virtually no opposition…
