‘Not All That Different’: Two Hedge Fund Managers Make Separate Hitler References in Two Days

Within two days of one another, two different hedge fund managers made references to Adolf Hitler at two separate events — with one seeming to almost draw a similarity between the German dictator‘s rise to power and President Barack Obama’s.

The first reference, Business Insider reported, was made by Omega Advisors founder and CEO Leon Cooperman in the middle of a “rant” about Obama, describing the path by which the president was elected.
Business Insider paraphrased Cooperman’s remarks:
He said in effect: What happened is, a 48-year-old with no prior business experience, made his way into power, which you know is not all that different from how Hitler made it into power. I’m not –
Then he immediately said he was not comparing Obama to Hitler, but of course just saying the two names in the same sentence caused a gasp.
The second reference, made by the founder of Bridgewater Associates founder Ray Dalio on Thursday, wasn’t political, but made in the context of the turbulent economy.

Business Insider again paraphrased the remarks:
Dalio said that the biggest problem right now, [and perhaps why traders are having difficulty navigating these markets], is people are not having the quality conversation about, how does the machine work?
Dalio says there’s a certain process that works a certain way for a certain reason. He asks, Do you understand how the machine works? That’s the important question.
For example, how does politics work?
Dalio’s view, which he says is true historically, is that there is greater polarity in democracy. And when there’s polarity, there’s disorder.
“Hitler came to power because there was disorder and because that’s how the machine works,” he said.
No other media outlets seem to have picked up on Cooperman or Dalio’s comments yet.

Destroy the economic viability of a country and convince people you need more control( see van jones) and you gain your objectives. The first thing you do is have control of communications that prevents the wide-spread dissemination of the truth to the majority of the popuplation (see nbc,cbs…etc), then you get the “control laws” passed from a fearful governing body( almost prevented by tea people in congress, but they gave in) and you begin to strangle the merchants that provide the ability to make wealth in the country. That is basically what the “ merchants” ( businesses) are screaming about. With modern comunications, the “state media” does not have total control over “the truth” which makes it harder to decieve the people. As to So. Africa, you are one of few who recognize what Mandela really did–take from the whites who built the country from a less than 3rd world country into a modern country. As much as I object to all the Hitler references because I think it detracts from the real solution, it isn’t wise to be ignorant either…. so with that caution (which I expect to be ignored):
Obama’s philosophy seems to be control of the economy. Not conclusive, but considering the advisers he surrounds himself with, the appearance of several policies, it appears that way. Hindsight is 20:20 while reading mind reading is the stuff of fantasy and myth.
Now Obama’s selling point is rebuilding the economy. While many argue that his policies are destroying the economy, his propaganda and what he sells in his speeches and so forth is that his policies will rebuild the economy, save jobs, etc, etc.
The real lesson for this comparison is that the German people bought the Hitler propaganda just WE ARE buying the current propaganda.

1. Do you believe that government should control the economy?
2. Do you believe that government can rebuild the economy?
If you have bought into either of these points, especially if you have bought into both, then it does not matter if you “unelect” all of our current politicians. Because if America has bought these two principles (and to some of us it sure looks like America has bought the propaganda and swallowed it hook, line, and sinker), then you WILL vote for the very same type of people currently holding elected office.
Would it matter if the German people had “unelected” Hitler to replace him with someone like Stalin? The details would have changed, but both results are both tyranny. So when some of us begrudgingly use the analogies to the past, we are not always saying that things are an exact repeat. But if we do not learn from the past, we will repeat the history anew.

I have said from the very beginning when he began to come out of the wordwork in the 2007 campaign to be president that he would indeed be president. Once he began to emerge in a cult like fashion I saw he was no ordinary man but that he would no doubt become president then be either known as the first official world president or be remembered as the one who laid the foundation for the first president of the world. Dick Morris agreed with me because I made this prediction before he said it on Oriellys show around 1/2009.
I have gone on record here many times that BHO will not leave this office next year. He will be either swept back into office through what appear to be a contentious election unlike any other we have ever had or there will be some reason an election cannot be held which would cause his administration to declare martial law and putting on hold any elections. Just watch and see because it is coming. I here talk about his polls being so bad (yes they are) and he’ll just not even seek re-election. Hogwash! He’s not going anywhere. The crackdown is coming!

If Obama loses, he will concede graciously and the Republican winner will probably carry on many of his policies, including big chunks of Obamacare. If Obama wins, he’ll be less effective in a second term than in a first, exactly like almost every other reelected president. Either way, the republic will survive.
The Hitler-Obama comparison is just plain dumb. By the time Hitler had been in power for as long as Obama has, he had suspended the entire German constitution, turned the Reichstag into a one-party cheering section by suppressing all rival political parties, destroyed all independent trade unions, and deprived an entire ethnic minority of all civil and political rights. Obama has neither the intent nor the means to carry out any such program.

Some constitutions are easier to destroy than others. And just because there is no EXACT, precise comparison does not mean this country has a serious threat from a far, far left radical President and administration.
You can make all the silly arguments you want, but Obama is dismantling out traditions, our values, our ideals. He is bypassing Congress, he is breaking the law daily, and he is the most serious threat to our freedom that has ever occupied the White House.
He talks one thing, but does something else entirely. He does not care what his opponents think or what his base thinks– his mission is to “transform” this country. When our Congress passed that healthcare travesty (How did that bill get written so fast?) , they added hundreds of new pages in the middle of the night. Nobody had a chance to read or debate those new pages. Nobody read the entire bill, yet it was passed with no Republicans supporting.
Obam is a threat to liberty. I don’t care about the Hitler comparison, but it is the broad strokes– not the petty details– that matter.

They know exactly how to manipulate people, that is what they know. They know they need to maintain chaos and disorder to force the “fundamental transformation”.
A few years from now, when (if) the chaos dies down, people will wake up and wonder WTF happened.
