Remember when the AP called out Obama’s claim that NATO will be taking over the Libyan mission, thus absolving the U.S. of a leadership role? Well, it looks like not even Jon Stewart is buying it.
On his program last night, Stewart delivered an epic roast of Obama’s speech, criticizing the president for his angry tone, his intervention arguments, and his NATO dreams. I’ll step aside and let Stewart take over:

Posted on March 30, 2011 at 10:11amThis is a perfect test to see if a politically biased judge can override the the collective wisdom of a elected legislative body of a state. When one person can dictate against the will of the the people we are at totalarian rule. It is the only way that the liberals can ever sustain their will against the American people.
Report Post »shazam3
Posted on March 30, 2011 at 11:48amIt’s only going to get worse. Every state legislature law in this country will be stopped by hand picked liberal judges, period. They have been silently put in the courts for just this process. What better sound bite for the populace to here a “judge” say some bill is unconstitutional, right or wrong and it will take years in other courts at extreme costs to get it right. Even if this administration is voted out of office they will still be there to continue the leftist agenda. Judges are just mostly names on a ballot that no one knows about. We must spend the time to figure out if we are electing judges or polititians….

Posted on March 30, 2011 at 10:00amIs it me, or does Obow say he wants “to be clear” more than Nixon ever did?
The anger, too, is telling. Either Obow realizes he made a major mistake going into Libya, and/or he resents being criticized for it. Either way, the Administration on the whole seems confused about priorities, purpose, and intended results of this foray into madness. I wonder how it’ll be if this mission gets bigger, to include arming the rebels and maybe sending in US troops in force.
Maybe we’ll get lucky and Obow will go down the road of LBJ, to be so reviled he either doesn’t run for another term or is voted out by a large margin.

Posted on March 31, 2011 at 1:01amI am a conservative and love watching jon stewart. His humor is funny and he’s a master at satire. Yes, he mostly bashes conservatives, but I for one can laugh at myself. My favorite episode of Jon’s show (until now) was the one about how “scary” The Glenn Beck Show is. I love Glenn Beck but I can still laugh, can’t I? When he bashed Obama, I was in awe.

Posted on March 30, 2011 at 9:36amI do not watch Jon Stewart but I find it familiar that some people are attacking him but ignoring what he was actually saying. Can’t dispute what he says, then attack him personally. His point about the Untied States turning over control of bombing Libya to NATO is spot on. The military commander of NATO is ALWAYS an American. I think that it was disingenuous of the President to say that we are turning over control of the Libya situation to NATO as though by doing so the United States was no longer involved in the decision process. One can only assume that he hoped that most people would not be able to make the connection. Frankly he just makes him look like another politician that you need to parse every thing he says and fact check everything he says. Only a politician similar to this could actually say “it depends on what your definition of is, is”. Pay close attention to what he says, investigate everything that they tell you, and most importantly, pay much more attention to what they do then to what they say.
Report Post »lketchum
Posted on March 30, 2011 at 12:41pmYou are quite correct, but it is also worse… the NATO Supreme Allied Commander is now also dual-hatted as the Commander USEUCOM – the head of all U.S. Forces in Europe. It goes well beyond that…
The reality is that NATO is largely hosted by U.S. Forces and it is far less capable that EUCOM. Most of the NATO budget is wasted and anytime there are “Joint” NATO exercises, it is the U.S. that leads – where active duty U.S. commanders and troops switch hats and fill NATO roles. It’s a mess.
Worse, the international NATO officers (largely no-loaders from what I saw), take on the aire of superiority each time they engage with active duty U.S. forces – despite their total dependence upon them. The few U.S. officers assigned to NATO slots full time are quite good, but they carry their European counterparts every step of the way and ultimately, it comes down to one persistent question in each case: “What are the Americans going to do?” – while NATO sits on its backside.
There are exceptions, of course and a handful of decent NATO officers and units, but by and large, it is an entirely U.S. centric force that actually does anything – all the while being sniped at politically and socially by NATO officers. The only thing weaker than NATO officers is NATO’s non-commissioned officer corps. They are nothing like U.S. Non-Coms at all and they fill no real roles of responsibility – whereas all field and combat operations in the U.S. are led largely by senior Non-coms that always help in the planning and formulation of operations. In line units, planning and the understanding of that plan is pushed all the way down to the most junior man and end to end, each is aware of what the plan is and what their role is in it.
Stewart is spot on – when NATO actually does anything real, it’s always the U.S. and its officers and men that are the driving and fighting force. This takes nothing from individual NATO warriors, or pilot warriors – most of whom are braver than brave and good men – they just come from weak socialist governments that rely much too much on the U.S. for security.

Us conservatives saw it a long time ago, but now everyone is starting to see it. The radical leftists may be well organized, but they are in the minority. People are starting to wake up and see what is really going on and how they are trying to transform our country and the world into something we really didn’t want. I don’t think most people wanted to believe this could be true, but sadly it is. Hopefully, we are not to undue what has already been done. We need to pray for our country and for Israel.

We cannot arm the people there. How is it possible that our government has not learned its lesson from arming unknown political uprisings. We need to get out now and stop the insanity. This is not our fight and the potus had no right to take us to war without a vote in congress. The United States MUST not continue to fan the flames erupting in the middle east.

Posted on March 30, 2011 at 9:16amThe founding fathers did not write in the Constitution that anytime other countries freedom was at stake that it was the USA’s job to re-establish or even first time establish democracy. ONLY IF it meant the security of the US and ONLY if it threatned the USA DIRECTLY would it be prudent to assist other countries in regime change or establishing democracy. So what in Libya directly threatned the USA. Pan AM 103? That was in 1988. Reagan tried to take out Quadaffi but failed. And since Bush Sr.- to Obama the US kept Libya at arms length tolerating them. So I ask again What in Libya DIRECTLY threatned the USA. I know why were at NON war with them, and the answer is simple.

Seems you and your half-chromosome friend Creeping Death aren‘t able to process even the simplest examples of the right wing’s pathology. What do the numbers of dead in WWII have to do with the relentless dissembling of right wing radicals, other than it was those right wing radicals we were fighting? And who authorized Bush to lie? (Wait, I know that one, it was Cheney.)
You see, Luuuucy, you’re a classic example of someone who appropriates the honor of others to imbue themselves with some sense of value. It’s a behavior often seen in Tea Party pantywaists, Civil War re-enactors and other faux patriots.
You’re usually the ones yelping, “We built this country!” when you actually had nothing to do with it. The only real claim you can make is sitting on your oversized duff in front of Fox News thinking that you‘re being educated when you’re actually being played for the patsies they know you to be. You willingly absorb their exhortations to be outraged and to blame everyone but yourselves for the challenges of America, when the truth of the mater is that America is in the spot we’re in because most Americans are just like you – fat stupid and lazy.
So if you ever see me, just say thank you. Because you see, I have little purple curio in the drawer behind me that says I deserve your gratitude and respect. And until either of you can can show me the same, you won’t get any respect from me, only the derision you so richly deserve.
Now I suggest you turn off the TV, put down The Enquirer, throw out the Funyons, and get your chafing orange-peel thighs to the gym, you know, actually challenge yourself instead of gorging on self righteous, hypocritical indignation. There are plenty of right wing extremists, fundamentalist Christians and other family values perverts who got that covered. Rise above, Luuuucy. Rise! Be a special person instead of the pile of failure and self loathing you are.
Got it?
