Not Sure if You Care… But Paul Ryan Just Released His Tax Returns

So, vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan has released his tax returns from 2010 and 2011. But should we care at all?

Of course, many media outlets will point out the fact that in the last two years, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has paid a lower federal tax rate than Ryan, his running mate. That certainly won’t make the calls for him to release more of his own tax returns any quieter.

Ryan paid an effective federal tax rate of 15.9 percent in 2010 and 20 percent in 2011, according to tax returns released by the Romney campaign Friday evening.

Paul Ryan Releases Two Years of Tax Returns

Paul Ryan (File)

In 2010, Ryan and his wife reported an adjusted gross income of just over $215,000. Most of that came from Ryan’s congressional salary. They paid just under $35,000 in federal taxes on that income. They also paid $3,168 in employment taxes for a household worker.

In 2011, they reported an adjusted gross income of more than $323,000 and they paid nearly $65,000 in federal taxes. In addition to Ryan’s salary, the couple made more than $50,000 in investment income from capital gains and qualified dividends. They also made more than $116,000 in rental income, royalties and trust income. The couple owns rental property in Oklahoma, according to the return.

Romney paid about $3 million in federal income taxes in 2010, an effective federal tax rate of 14 percent. For 2011, Romney’s campaign estimates that he will pay about $3.2 million with an effective federal tax rate of about 15.4 percent.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

I appreciate Paul Ryan’s sharing (I just LOVE this guy!!) – but am sick and tired of the tax return cr@p the left keeps dragging up. N-O-B-O-D-Y C-A-R-E-S!!! It’s clearly one of the few things the Obama administration and their hacks (Harry Reid) can drag out in order to distract from a failed 3 1/2 years.

Since he and Romney are Republicans in a Democratic government world, I’m sure their taxes are a legal as legal can get. Obama and his henchman at the IRS i’m sure have long ago turned them upside down and inside out. The only reason the Obama camp would even mention them is to try and make something out of Romney’s success to use to get sympathy votes. Americans love underdogs and these guys know that.

You know why they say “effective tax rate” don’t you? It’s a tiered system, meaning you pay the lowest rate on your first $8,900, then you pay the next tax rate on the next bunch of money, and so on as you work up the tier. If you make over $388,650 you don’t actually pay 35% of THAT amount. you only ay 35% on the amount that’s over that amount. On the rest, you pay for that group. That’s why they make it so complicated…..they need to support the CPA’s.

To those communists that continue to rant about tax returns that ARE NOT required to open by presidential candidates, how about your king release his college records, maybe from Columbia (where apparently he never attended but says he did), his Occidental records (which show he was attending on a foreign student scholorship and visa), his school records from Indonesia (where Americans were not allowed to travel, which shows he is a citizen of Kenya, and a muslim), his REAL birth certificate (Mumbasa Kenya celebrates his highness as the first American pres born in thier village). Wow. That was stupid. Now he makes Romney appear twice as guilty as he already looks. “Look, Ryan can do it why not Romney?”.

Mitt Romney’s tax returns will perfectly illustrate the reason why the U.S. is #75 in global income inequality, below Cambodia.

He hasn’t even released 1 full year of tax returns. He intentionally left off the form that pertains to the offshore accounts. He’s spent his entire life devising tax avoidance schemes and hiding his money. He’s very likely in the IRS offshore amnesty program. The so called “charity” he professes is an automatic 10% to the Morman church, he may not even be paying that. If we don’t find out, he won’t be elected, well, he won’t anyway. No chance.

More like louse for logic. Every American who actually pays taxes knows there is no escape from the IRS, just ask Al Capone. If there is the slightest problem they audit and demand every penny legally owed. Period. End of story. Especially for the wealthy who they can get more from. Even more so for the wealthy in the public eye who they can make examples from, just ask Willie Nelson. America is being destroyed rapidly with little time to save it and this abomination of an issue for the election has gone on too long. Time to end this by telling those demanding tax return data from Romney to stuff it where the sun don’t shine and ignore all further calls on the subject. From now on focus only on the issues that matter, and the facts which are on record from the last 4 years of the most evil criminal group of people to run this nation since the day of it’s founding.

Not one soul who is deciding to vote for Romney based upon His tax returns is telling the truth. They are liars who had no intention of ever voting for Him. They are cowards hiding behind a non issue when the Communist in Chief is who they really support. They cannot even come out and admit they had no intention of supporting the right, for the destruction of the greatest, previously most free nation in human history is their true goal. They are at war with God Himself and from Him there will be no escape in the day of judgement.

Your A Mess NBC talking points are old. Romney released the same number of years in tax returns as is required of him.

And yes, in any capitalistic country you are going to have wealth inequality, socialist. That is a good thing. What that means is that you can be super rich in this country or super poor and everywhere in between. Naturally the US would be behind places like Cuba, North Korea, Somalia etc. EVERYONE THERE IS POOR!!!

Finally, do you claim deductions on your tax return? Well you better stop, you greedy little parasite. Warren Buffet–liberal champion of “take someone else’s money but not mine”–admittedly pays less in taxes than his secretary but no one *forces* him to take deductions. No one forces him to find every loophole. It is so dicotic that liberals can curse the wealthy taking advantage of the tax code and curse the sane people who support the fair tax to close those loopholes in the same breath.

The only thing in your whole post that was of any truth is that Romney has no chance of winning in November. That being primarily because 50% of the country is a poplation of ignorant, selfish social parasites who vote for their own self interest and damn the consquences.

Nouseforlogic really has no use for intelligence. Romney put out his complete return for 2010. It is a very complicated return. I have prepared tax returns for 8 years and an Enrolled Agent. There is another return that is filed showing where and how much “off-shore” accounts he has. The income from those accounts had better be the same as shown on his 1040 or the IRS will be auditing him. With the Obama team in there, you had better believe that if there was even a “letter audit,“ it would be front page news on every newspaper and all the left media would be having ”special” hour (or more) reports.

So Nouseforlogic, why don’t you discussed this with someone who has at least a 3 digit IQ and knows personal income taxes. You obviously don’t have either!

I am a Paul supporter and think a good lot of us are off our rockers…but there are just as many of us that are perfectly sane and understand the constitution very well….Republicans are socialists too in their own way….Any group of people with power who want to mold society into what they think is best are socialists….just not the stereo typical marxist version…

Both parties like to use the constitution to push their agenda…they will preach unconstitutional when it suits their agendas, and ignore it when it doesn’t…The reason most Republican Paul bashers hate Paul is that he is consistantly constitutional regardless of party lines…and it chips away at the social mold that the parties try to place us in…Freedom is (or should be appealing to all) so it will attract all different types of people.

Of course, we all know that the fruit of Romney, Ryan, and OUR (your and mine) labor isn’t really ours at all. It belongs to the State — the collective — and that’s all Emperor Obama is asking for. He wants us to recognize that in the progressive mindset hellbent on “collective salvation”, we’re all just cogs in the collective wheel. We as individuals have NO rights! Only the “collective” has rights!
This really isn’t about the rich paying “their fair share” at all! It’s about whether ANY individual has ANY rights that are acknowledged and protected by the government, including the right to own and possess ANY property that is not only permitted, but also PROTECTED, by the government. And under Obama’s progressive philosophy, the answer is a resounding “NO”!

I paid an effective tax rate of 10% for 2011 and cut the IRS a check… (fact)

I guess I’m a bigger thief than the very rich Mitt Romney… (end sarcasm)

Who cares? I’d like to see the credit report on everyone in office. Local, state and federal. See just how many financially irresponsible morons we have in both parties. I bet there’s a lot of them. People who can’t manage their own money, and they’re making decisions about ours.

Problem is, credit reports don’t give you the reasons for their score or why something happened. In March, I had a score of almost 700. I now have one of 434 – what happened. I lost over 60% of my current income (from two sources). My stocks had been in “safe” stocks, such as GM a few years ago. My income prior to losing the 60% in two months had been decreasing about 20% for the past 3 years. I am now without a job, one stock left which is worth less than 1% of what I brought it for (but I can’t declare it worthless for tax purposes), and my pension doesn’t cover my rent and car payment. So in 3 months, my credit score dropped over 200 points, and has dropped since I looked.

My mindset on paying my bills hasn’t changed, only my liquidity. In six months, I will be in positive cash flow again with a new administration, but if Obama’s admin stays in, I’ll probably even lose my pension – he has already froze it for two years.

Your score is based on your credit. Not your income.

Obama released his tax records along with the $5.13 check marked insufficient funds showing he had every intention of paying them.
I heard this from a reliable annonomus stool pigeon. Its up to Obama to prove this wrong.

OK…I thought I heard this evening- Ryan & Romney released their Tax Records.

It wasn’t clear to me whether they released BEFORE OR AFTER this “ offer”.

I HOPE IT WASN’T RELEASED IN RESPONSE TO THIS LIEING DEAL.

Also, I’ve heard ONE TOO MANY TIMES – some of the Host on Fox say,
Obama should let Biden go and put Hillary on the ticket?

    WHAT’S WRONG WITH THEM?
Why make this Race more complex?
Yes, Hilliary’s Sec. of State Record IS JUST AS BAD AS OBAMA’S -
and she probably DOESN’T want to be on the ticket with him – OR AT
    LEAST UNTIL 2016….
    BUT, WHY ENCOURAGE THIS?

IF Romney took this crooked deal – then things are getting ready to
    COME OFF THE RAIL!
    AND…I’M DONE WITH IT!!

Its people like you that forced Romney to pick Ryan and Ryan is one of the reasons Romney is going to lose badly. Ryan is a lightweight (two bills passed in 8 years) and a liar (I never asked for stimulus money, oh wait yeah I guess I did).

“two bills passed in 8 years”

And Obama passed zero when he was a newbie-senator(AFAIK), your point?

      “and a liar”

Thus far, I’ve yet to see him Lie about anything… but I’ve seen Obama lie about plenty of things. So, honestly, I fail to see why either will be a problem.
