It has already been clear that New York gubernatorial candidate is no shrinking violet! So he’s not about to walk away from a situation like this:
Here’s how the New York Daily News described it:
As Paladino was walking in, he was approached by New York Post State Editor and radio personality Fred Dicker and a few other reporters — and what could have been a regular Q & A session turned into a toe-to-toe confrontation.
After Dicker asked Paladino what evidence he had to make accusations to Maghabe at Politico that Democratic gubernatorial frontrunner Andrew Cuomo had cheated on his ex -wife, Blain reports, Paladino turned the tables, assailing Dicker over the Post’s coverage of the daughter he fathered a decade ago with a woman other than his wife.
“I want to know why you sent your goons after my daughter, Fred,” Paladino demanded. “You send another goon to my daughter‘s house and I’ll take you out, buddy!”

Posted on September 30, 2010 at 7:45amWe have been so conditioned to be horrified by anger from someone, because we are supposed to be peace loving, calm emotionally controlled, nicer human beings. Say, “Almmmmmmm”. So after the initial shock of “Whoa!” (since I have been conditioned by our culture to abhor angry outbursts) I actually felt compassion for Paladino, “Wow!” To have a Dad who would fight to protect you. Now, that is bond that cannot be broken. A bond that is part of our humanity. The bond that the secular progressives have worked very hard in our culture to eradicate. No wonder why people are lost. No wonder why people feel unconnected. Our emotions have been so “dumbed-down” with drugs, media and sterilized education.
I think it was absolutely refreshing to see Carl defend his child. He’s a man who has my vote. A man like that won’t be a push over. Clearly He has a heart. There is nothing more genuine than a man defending the honor of his family – especially a 10 year old daughter. He’s got my respect!

Posted on September 30, 2010 at 7:16amI hate seeing politicians‘ families being persecuted like Sara Palin’s was. I admire him for being “real” instead of pc or “plastic”, on behalf of his illegitimate daughter. Politicians and the press can be as nasty as they want to each other, but if they drag the family through the mud, I say the gloves should come off. This is the way a loving father should react.

Since then, I haven’t heard Glenn make the same error.

Posted on September 30, 2010 at 7:00amPaladino did what any self-respecting REAL MAN would have. If Randy Andy Cuomo cheated on his wife, that goes to HIS character, and as such is a legitimate political issue. And if Paladino cheated on a wife of his own those many years ago, that too would be fair game. But to go after a daughter, like media is fond of doing when it comes to the Palins too, is WRONG. Sorry Fred Dicker, you screwed up!

Posted on September 30, 2010 at 6:39amPaladino should stand up and protect his family. But saying “I’LL TAKE YOU OUT BUDDY!” was not the best choice of words. Regardless, I approve a man who stands up for their children.

Posted on September 30, 2010 at 6:01amSoiopath yes, but progressive? The New York Post is probably the most conservative daily paper in the country. It’s owned by Rupert Murdoch just like Fox News, and has the same right of center editorial slant. It almost certainly will be, or at least would have been, the only New York paper to endorse Paladino. Fred Dicker is an old-school tabloid journalist who will do anything to sell papers, but he’s never showed any signs of being a particular fan of Cuomo’s. And speaking of Cuomo, why are you mad at him over a story that the Post dug up and decided to run. There is no evidence to suggest that he had anything to do with it.

Posted on September 30, 2010 at 1:43amTypical Political hacks taking a run at a candidate, they know Carl is wound tight and they are playing for the cameras. That is why he needs a good “Blocker…” get the reporter off his back. Obviously a Cuomo plant or Dem patsy, one the other or more than likely “Both…!”
As reporters go these days, I feel they do go WAY out of line when they start staking the guys family… come on people this is 2010, not 1920… New York state is the land of divorce and single parent families, if they guy did right by his Daughter, who is the press to make a call on him. He will have to answer for his actions to a Greater Power than the NY toast… but Carl does need to take it down a notch. Although frankly I can sympathize with his point… Mess with my Kids, your messing with me… Old School.
I’ll be doing my Duty in NYS on Nov. 2… Good On You Carl, keep them shaking in their shoes! Cuomo is just another Dem patsy… and will continue driving this state further down the crapper… We’ll be right behind CA in Bankruptcy Court… NYS NEEDS a Guy like Paladino… to clean house and sweep out the trash.

Posted on September 30, 2010 at 2:32amOK lets look at this from another point of view. You decide to run for office and some sleezeball reporter starts violating your families privacy, He hounds and intimidates your daughter that lives on her own… then gets in your face to rub it in, and he even admits it was him. Without the responsibilities of running for office holding me back, I would have laid the SOB out, right then and there. It would and could be classified as self defense in that context.

Posted on September 30, 2010 at 4:48amHe does need to cool off, but we do have a problem with the Lamestream Media…
We have a double standard where ‘public figures’ are treated differently than the average American: invasion of privacy, lower standards of proof for allegations (making it difficult to win slander and libel cases), etc. Even if one finds this double standard acceptable, including the unequal justice it promotes, where does one draw the line? Family members are now fair game, even though they are not public figures. The media always points out that politicians should have thought about their family’s exposure before they ran for office – BS.
I would vote for him just because of his anger towards those targeting his daughter.
