NYC Fire Department Seizes Occupy Wall Street Camp’s Generators

New York City could get hit with snow this weekend, and it looks like the Wall Street Occupiers will be left out in the cold even more than they planned.
Their gas generators have been swiped, courtesy of the Fire Department of New York (FDNY).
Early this morning, the FDNY swooped down on the Zuccotti Park base camp of the Occupiers in search of “flammable or illegal items.” The protestors have for the most part tried to heed fire regulations in their cooking practices. No open flames are used, and dish water is brought into the camp pre-heated.
But the fire department had been expressing concerns this week about the tents sprouting up across the plaza, and the absence of adequate fire control mechanisms.
Why would they be worried about fire control, you ask?
Apparently, the problem comes from the make-shift media center, not the kitchen.
To keep thousands of dollars of laptops and wi-fi hotspots humming, gas powered generators run day and night. The FDNY found the generators this morning, and confiscated them.
So was this all a pretext to get the protestors out of the park by making their teeth chatter and their knees shake as the cold really comes in?
Probably. But then again, they protestors have been shown all kinds of breaks and lenience by the authorities so far. And if there was some sort of fire and anybody was hurt, the entire movement would blame NYC authorities, and probably head straight to the nearest “Bankster-controlled” courthouse for a huge lawsuit paid for by the taxpayer.
At some point, it would seem the Occupiers are going to have to go home.
And Mayor Bloomberg would rather have the cold force that issue than the batons and shields of the NYPD.

Posted on October 30, 2011 at 9:21amI think the fire dept. should let them have their generators, gas stoves, and any camp crap they want. Let the whole camp catch on fire. Just have the fire dept. keep the fire from spreading to nearby buildings.

Posted on October 30, 2011 at 5:25amSo its the banks fault that the people we put into government gave them our tax money. How fast would this be over if government said you don’t have to pay back any school loans? This is the next way to buy votes. So lets see, welfare, food stamps, medicaid, medicare, Fredie and Fanny, college loans. Now every election Dems will offer more free stuff and Reps will be the bad guys and want to take away free stuff. Is it just me or is this the Good cop Bad cop thing? They are both cops and they both want bigger government. I just want to say people prepare with food, water, silver, gold if you can. Have at least three months. If you plan for the worst and hope for the best. Don’t think for a second that the government will be their for you. Look at the videos and how the cops take away your guns and right to protect yourself…. That is your government at work. They support the overthrow of the government. Ask Obama, he supports OWS. Why??????? Does he want to see America fail???????? Register to vote, know the truth, don’t just listen to the mainstream media. Look, listen, read, look at history… it will repeat, it always does.

Posted on October 28, 2011 at 5:00pmForget the cold. A manadnock PR-24 to the skull. a touch of pepper spray followed by a steel toed boot to the head. Lets see how many of these ideologies who need their twitter, I-Pods, Netflix, WiFi. react to a pound of flesh for real freedoms. How many would block a tank in Tiananmen Square knowing the potential consequences? I’m guessing their commintment goes no further than oatmeal gruel for the next few days and a 16 hour arrest/release from the NYPD/NY municipal courts. They strive for press, not for change and are a joke. OWS is a joke, given credence by the media.

Posted on October 28, 2011 at 1:32pmY’all, think about how many folks die of carbon monoxide poisoning and fires every winter from space heaters in their homes. Just imagine those things in a TENT. And think how flamable those tents are. And look how close together they are. Those kids would burn up in a second. Those generators are really just a hazard.

Posted on October 28, 2011 at 1:13pm“Swiped”? Really? It sounds as though they were confiscated as a public safety hazard. Or, do the Soros funded protestors have the inherent right to arson NYC as part of their free speech?
Bloomberg’s pathetic handling of this in his attempt to furhter his career in the Obama administration with his political sights set upon replacing tax cheat Timmy Geithner are a disservice to the people of NYC and his office. Bloomberg should be impeached.
Where is the news about Soros’s meeting with NYC-PD head Ray Kelly? Why isn’t that all over the media today?

Weakness by the Nazis. Now the Fire Dept is teamed up with the Nazis. Oh well, associate yourselves with them.
Break up a protest and claim it’s for fire safety. Just a Nazi Modus Operendi. Everything is for “safety”.
More like a false sense of security promulgated by security guards.

Report Post »I would like to mace your face….just for fun!
After all it is the weekend, and I’ve worked hard all week.
Perhaps causing you, and your type pain would help me relax.
The cops, and the system you hate are the ONLY thing that protects you from my friends and I.
You want a breakdown?
Well guess what pal…I think there are not enough hunting seasons.
You screw with MY livelihood with your politically motivated nonsense, I will help to put you down.
You don’t like bankers…but, you can bank on that!
V-MAN MACE
Posted on October 29, 2011 at 4:45pmI’m sure you would like to do something to me, because I dare dissent from neocon political views and dare criticize your police state heroes and the Federal Reserve.
But you would be met with the swift justice of my .357 Magnum. And no, I wouldn’t enjoy watching your head split open like a melon. The cops aren’t stopping you or your friends from doing anything nor are they even CAPABLE of protecting me (or you) from anything. I place that responsibility squarely on my hand cannon. You ought to take heed.
There are more people like me who don’t hate cops but abhor the ACTIONS of cops and the actions of the police institution as a whole because they resemble the Nazis, than there are Nazis and bootlickers like you and your friends. We outnumber and surround you.
I don’t have any problem with bankers personally, its the actions of the Federal Reserve and the Nazi Police State that I abhor, they facilitate the robbery by Robber Baron bankers and disregard Congress (even though Congress made ITSELF irrelevant by giving them authority).
Bootlickers like you are just a nuisance that perpetuate the farce of this police state by supporting it and its actions, you aren’t on their side, they don’t give a flying damn about you. You’re gonna be disarmed and hauled off to a FEMA camp too.
You are hilarious thinking you are on their team or something by licking their boots and attacking me.

Posted on October 28, 2011 at 12:50pmThis is all an absurdity, no one is listening to these protests, I am in middle America and there is no buzz here about what they are saying least of all why they are there. This is all being orchestrated world wide by George Soros with his billions and it is not going to change anything. These screwballs with there dim little lives will go back to mommies basement to play there foolish little games and the only thing they will have done is waste the taxpayers money and take cop time away from chasing real crimimals. This is not an Arab Spring, just a bunch of college kids looking for more freebies trying to get their student loans forgiven. Lots of luck with that, just a poorly lot of rebels without a cause…

Posted on October 28, 2011 at 5:15pmI would tend to agree with you, but college kids are listening and are being influenced by those running this charade. These are the people that I worry about, as they are being brain washed into believing that socialism and communism is great. They have no idea what it is really like. I don’t worry about the average American working and trying to make ends meet, but we should have our eyes on the college and universities as these are breeding grounds (as well as public school systems) for this type of thinking.

Posted on October 28, 2011 at 6:21pmThe problem is..these idiots aren’t really oppressed or in danger of any kind. $5000 laptops arent‘ exactly indications that you’re suffering or wanting in any way. This is why their numbers aren’t growing (excluding bused in unionistas when necessary). The protests are going sideways..there is no popular move to support them it’s just the usual anarchists, commies etc that you see at every lefty protest. When a protest is at this stage it has to attract attention to itself or the oxygen gets sucked out of it. They will get more disruptive and have to take off the “peaceful” mask as they get more beligerent and violent. There‘s no other direction for them because they didn’t spark any popular action..only from the same lefties we’ve always seen.

We’ve seen both Doomberg and that knucklehead for a Mayor in Oakland make a decision against the mobs one day only to then give in to them the next. Clearly forces very powerful are “influencing” these cowards so until there is a safe and permanent resolution, I’d hold off heaping praise on any public official. This ain’t over by a long shot and deep down folks, we all know it.

This isn’t a protest, it’s a shanty town. They are protesting their rights while infringing on those of others. They are sucking money from taxpayers which could go to feeding people or healthcare.
