NYC Subway Showdown: Alleged Seat Dispute Ends in Head-Beating Brawl

Details are sketchy surrounding the incident you’re about to see. Here’s what we know for sure: one man is seen repeatedly beating another man in the head on a New York City subway train. Two bystanders, a man and a woman, try to intervene throughout, and for the most part are unsuccessful. The beating eventually spills over from the train car to the platform.
Now, here‘s what’s alleged. According to the video description, the fight started over a seat. As Gawker rightly points out, so far we can’t verify that. Still, the video is quite dramatic:
Gothamist contacted the MTA — the transit authority that runs the subways — but it had no information on the incident.
