NYPD Sergeant Saves Own Life by Jamming Finger Into Trigger of Felon’s Gun

NYPD Sergeant Saves Own Life by Jamming Finger Into Trigger of Felons Gun

A quick-thinking, and, agile-fingered NYPD sergeant saved his own life Monday when he stopped a murderous felon from shooting him in the stomach. Sgt. Michael Miller accomplished this feat by jamming his right ring finger in between the Taurus .38 revolver’s hammer and cylinder, making it impossible for the armed assailant, Eugene Graves, to shoot. According to The New York Post, Graves tried to pull the trigger so many times, he broke Miller’s finger. Fortunately, that was the worst of the damage.

The Post reports:

Sgt. Michael Miller and Officer William Reddin were on patrol when they noticed a livery cab speeding eastbound on Quincy Street near Malcolm X Boulevard at about 4 a.m. today. The plainclothes cops pulled the beige Lincoln Towncar over, but when they walked up displaying their shields they noticed that one of the passengers in the back seat, Eugene Graves, was making suspicious movements near his waistband.

After the cops told the passengers to get out of the car, Miller, a 13-year-veteran, reached toward a bulge at Graves’ waist and felt the gun underneath his clothes.

“He told him to put his hands behind him, and that’s when he started to fight,” said a police source.

Reddin called for backup as he rushed to help Miller. The Post adds:

Graves managed to press his Taurus .38 revolver into Miller’s stomach, but Miller grabbed hold of the gun, wedging his right ring finger between the gun’s hammer and cylinder, before the murderous Graves could fire a shot.

Police officers arrived within moments and helped to subdue the still-struggling Graves, who was also reportedly in possession of approximately 2 ounces of crack cocaine.

It matters, and yes you are correct, the media don’t like to mention it. We are left to guess, based upon other aspects of the story what the race of the criminal is. Many white people are hurt because they pretend that there is no greater risk of crime from blacks. The media perpetuate the myth that all races engage in crime equally by carefully avoiding all mention of race except when it cannot be avoided or when there is a picture with the story.

Why does that matter? Race is a societal construct. Don’t limit yourself to its vague definition.

To believe for one moment that all people can be classified as one of 7 “races” is to believe the only colors in the word are ROYGBIV. They are ambiguous definitions chosen from a set of infiniteness combinations.

If this felon is repeatedly trying to shoot a policeman, why does that not authorize the officers responding to use deadly force? It is a good thing the handgun was a revolver and not semiauto.

Unfortuantely, probably not. This guy will probably get 2/3 of his stretch cut and released early because many Progressives states would rather release prison inmates early than reform their poorly managed pension systems. Furthermore, “hard-labor” has been virtually erradicated from penal sentences because bleeding hearts feel it to be cruel and unusual punishment.

Had to try that with an Angry dog one time! Not pretty but effective. His owner threw a fit because I “Choked her dog”! She claimed he was too small to have done much damage.
This guy in the story should probably get offers from movie studios as a stunt actor, to be this agile when the guy was in the back seat and he was standing outside the car seconds before is awesomely dexterous.

The title of the story is all wrong…If you jam your finger into the trigger of a gun, you cause it to fire. NOT prevent it from firing.

I agree… If the story is accurate not only did he intend on killing the officer, but attempted multiple times… Put him in front of the firing line… Better yet, let the firing squad have .38’s and let Graves try to stop the hammer… Until his finger is completely severed… and then shoot’em anyway… Eye for and eye.
