NYU Fellow Posts Appalling Tweets in Response to Reporter’s Sexual Assault

A journalist and NYU law fellow has had to apologize after he posted some appalling, and insensitive, Twitter messages in response to news that CBS reporter Lara Logan was sexually assaulted by a mob while in Egypt.

The messages from Nir Rosen began appearing yesterday afternoon after news of the assault broke. Initially, he brushed off Logan’s attack, saying that in a crowd of people such actions are to be expected. But the tweets became more angry as time passed, and Rosen’s anti-war beliefs quickly fused with a surprising insensitivity. The tweets begin at the bottom of each section:

Eventually, Rosen seemed to realize his comments were inappropriate. At one point, he said he was done tweeting, but subsequent tweets did appear on his account:

In his most recent tweet, Rosen again tries to pass off the comments as jokes that got out of hand:

This guy is a huge douche. My thoughts and prayers go out to Lara Logan and her family.

On another note why was she allowed to go in. There are some places women shouldn’t go. Not because they aren’t capable, but because they might be seen as prey. Its just not safe. Anderson Cooper gets beat. Lara Logan gets beat and sexually assaulted. Getting an ass whipping is one thing, sexual battery another.
Sorry but that is just the provider/protector in this knuckle dragging conservative talking,

One more thing. As an extreme example to liberal trolls on here. Had this happened down here in a 2nd Ammendment friendly state, this attacked would have been stopped before it started with a couple of well placed .45′s

People like this seem not to grasp that wars arenot Manichean duels between either Right and Wrong, or War and Peace. Peace is often not an option, which means that the GOOD GUYS, relatively speaking, have to fight. Most of Afghanistan WANTED us there, because the Taliban were mean-spirited, sadistic SOB’s. Virtually all the ground taken in the first, successful phase of the war, was taken by indigenous forces supported by a few hundred Spec. Op types.

Moral relativism means that an inappropriate look or comment in one context outweighs rape and murder in another. I don’t call it post-rationalism for nothing. There are literally no principles left but hatred and conformity. Here, he is simply triggering his “we hate war-mongers” meme, and running with it in public.

This is just a rare public display of what the internal dialogue of these rotten human beings looks like.

Good. Look so many on the left are sitting there telling us these rattlesnakes arent poisonous, that they are peaceful and they wont bite. They tell us to just go on and sit down with the rattlesnakes cause it will be fine, one of them sticks their hand in the nest and gets bit. It sucks and is horrible but we are all sitting here telling everyone these are RATTLESNAKES and are poisonous and will KILL you at the first opportunity. I HOPE no more Lara’s have to happen before the left starts to realize that maybe trusting the middle east and Islam isnt the best course of action.

The number of young people who have lost job opportunities and others who have run afoul of the law because of what they have posted on the Internet is becoming astronomical. Cyber bullying, risque pictures, rants and un-p.c. posts are all out there for anyone to see.

      To Showtime,

Lamebrain media is right. For all its modern ways, Egypt is a MUSLIM country. Why would anyone send a woman to cover an uprising linked to the Muslim Brotherhood is beyond me. Oh, I’m sure that editor or assignment coordinator is whining in an office right now, “Well, we believe in equal opportunity – everyone should have the chance to be assaulted by the unruly Muslim crowd.” Thank God she lived to tell about it.

Regarding the tweets, I guess because I’m older now, I can’t see why everyone has to share every passing thought that wanders through their minds with the entire nation. Why would anyone care that I managed to finish up my work assignments and am now eating peanut butter toast? Are people‘s lives so desolate that the fact that I’m going to pick up more kitty crunchies and stop off at the bank later today makes their day? That’s really sad, it really is.

In my humble opinion. I do think those who spout publicly insensitive things about others tragedies do harm by minimizing the effect things like this have on people. Regardless of her personal troubles to say someone deserved something like this or had it coming to her is a statement I think most of us would find a heavy weight if the same measure was applied to our own lives (let he who has no sin cast the first stone). I think the right thing to do is condemn the action of the criminals. Point out the insensitive comments and accept his apology. How many of us have shout off our mouths only to regret it later. ALL of us have if we are being honest. Pray for the woman and her family and I will also pray that this professor has learned a valuable lesson. They are always sorry “after” they get wind that they are going to be fired for being entirely inappropriate and intentionally hurtful – right after the leftists realize that outside their own “anything goes so long as it contributes to the cause” mentality exposes them to the scorn the actual beliefs deserve.

The “real” person was revealed initially and that base, hateful, hurtful person isn’t masked by his apologies later – that regret was for himself, in my view.

In my opinion, those on the left are fundamentally cowards – who prefer a statist controlled world where they do not have to do much at all – or ever have to look upon those that are accomplised and hard-working, because that is a mirror and a standard they are not prepared to try and match. For those on the left, in my view, there is only mediocrity and excellence and the pursuit of it is to be attacked.
