Obama Ad Slams Romney on Jobs Record & Offshore Accounts — to the Tune of Romney‘s ’America the Beautiful’

President Barack Obama’s latest campaign ad hits rival Mitt Romney for holding offshore bank accounts and accuses him of shipping jobs overseas — all to the tune of the former Massachusetts governor’s own rendition of “America the Beautiful.”
The 30-second ad “Firms,” released Saturday, comes after a relentless spate of attacks on Romney’s jobs record by the Obama campaign. It repeats charges that Romney shipped American jobs to China and Mexico while at Bain Capital; that he sent jobs to India as governor of Massachusetts; and that he holds accounts in Switzerland, Bermuda and the Cayman Islands.
“Mitt Romney’s not the solution. He’s the problem,” the ad says.
Romney has strongly denied outsourcing American jobs and has defended his role at Bain Capital, most recently during a series of media interviews Friday. He has maintained he had no active role at Bain after 1999 when he left to manage the Salt Lake City Olympics, and that the outsourcing the Obama campaign charges him with occurred after he was finished managing the company. Romney’s campaign has also defended the offshore accounts, saying he paid all the taxes legally required, though has refused to release multiple years of his tax returns.
“As the failures of his presidency become more evident, Barack Obama has resorted to the tactics of a typical politician – dishonest and totally unsubstantiated attacks meant to distract from his own record by smearing the reputation of his opponent,” Romney spokeswoman Amanda Henneberg told the New York Times.
“The Obama campaign appears to be stuck in their own ‘groundhog day,’ repeating the same, debunked charges they’ve waged for weeks in an effort to distract voters from this administration’s failure to fix the economy and create jobs,” she said.

Posted on July 14, 2012 at 12:21pmStudents of Marxism, like our dear leader, have the opinion that a business has the sole purpose of providing wages, benefits and taxes to their employees and government.
Any mention of the purpose of starting a business is to make a profit is shunned. Greedy even!
But then none that think business is just a means to create jobs, have never been bothered with making one work. Most in this administration never worked in the private sector, providing a product of service.
It’s a lot easier to sit in the faculty lounge and tell each other how the world works, then to actually raise some money with a valid idea and go out into the free market and make it work.
What is the cause of jobs leaving our country?
It’s not Mitt Romney! It’s progressives like our dear leader that want to spend more so they can then tax more, that force businesses to move to a better environment.
Wake up America! Vote for our proven failure, Barry the magnificent, to keep businesses off shore.

Posted on July 14, 2012 at 12:49pmOh please. Nafta has finally bitten us in the ass along with all the other free trade agreements. It was drafted by the “right” and signed into law by the “left”. They are both responsible for jobs leaving our country. Since the central themes of Marxism are redistribution of wealth, and the government owning the means of production, (take a look at who owns the production the only people allowed to be in office), coupled with an economic model of central planning created by a Fabian Socialist.; plus the partnership between the government and the media… All but a handful are marxists to some extent. It‘s almost like we’re voting for the green commies vs. the oil commies. And both of them are owned by the central banks.

Posted on July 14, 2012 at 3:36pmRepublicorp, Ron Paul has done more for this country than most reps in Congress. He has started a movement that will take over the Republican Party, and this movement will change the party back to what it used to be (a party that truly believes in (liberty, small government, fiscal responsibility, Constitutional principles), things this party has fallen away from. You can bash Ron Paul all you want, but this man has more integrity in his little finger, than you or Romney have in your entire bodies. You are a little man that has no idea what it is to be a hero. Ron Paul is going to go down in history as a hero to the Constitution and will be labeled as the Congressman that started us on the path to save our Republic. Posted on July 14, 2012 at 5:36pmENCINOM, There you go again, making the usual accusations that are simply not true. In other words you are telling lies….again. Yep, Bain Capitol did finally give up on GS Technologies, the steel mill that the likes of you will only claim. But, GS Technologies was a financial cesspool to begin with along with the unions involved having a strangle hold over the company. All Bain was able to do was to merely slow it’s impending doom. You do seem to forget, and probably on purpose the other steel mill, Steel Dynamics that Bain was able to turn around and become very successful. Steel Dynamics or SDI has now grown to the fifth largest provider of carbon steel in the U.S. and employ 6,800. You further forget Bain getting Staples off the ground and running. They now employ more than 90,000 nation wide. There is Sports Authority too, they now employ over 14,000.
Report Post »ENCINOM, all of these successes actually did occur while Romney was at Bain, unlike the failure of GS Technologies. Another thing to remember, the leadership of Bain when that occurred is an 0bama supporter and bundler.

I would like to know how Mitt Romney is going to ‘create’ jobs (as he calls it). It seems to me that the government doesnt create jobs unless we are talking about government jobs or socialism. Is that what Mitt Romney has in mind?
Romney’s business experience is taking over mediocre and failing companies – is that what he plans on doing as president? Just looking for clarification here….It’s not like the campaign can explain these points

Posted on July 14, 2012 at 6:30pmSOYBOMB315, That certainly is a misnomer when a president or any politician say they will create jobs. Naturally, 0bama says it quite often too. The best way that I can think of that the government can create real jobs by getting out of the way, and lowering some taxes in this climate. We have way too many runaway agencies that just keep their boot on the necks of business and seemingly manufacture new regulations faster than business can keep up. I’m not saying to allow businesses to pollute the land, air, or water. Nor to change things back to the old ways when many of the buildings were handicap inaccessible. Do some reviews and change the regulations to something more sensible and not business unfriendly.

“The sanctions imposed on our country are the most severe and strictest sanctions ever imposed on a country,” Mr. Ahmadinejad said during a meeting with Intelligence Ministry officials in Tehran, reported by Iranian news services. “But the enemies’ assumption that they can put Iran in a weak position through these sanctions is false and is the result of their materialistic calculations.”
Mr. Ahmadinejad also said Iran should turn the sanctions into an “opportunity to eliminate the country’s current reliance on oil revenue and take away from the enemy the use of oil as a weapon for imposing sanctions.”
Iran relies on oil exports for 80 percent of its national budget. By some industry calculations, Iranian oil exports have already fallen by 40 percent so far this year, and the country is losing billions of dollars a month it had not anticipated.
Oil industry experts say Iran’s predicament has worsened substantially because of the new European oil embargo, imposed on Sunday, and American measures imposed on Friday that penalize buyers of Iranian oil.

They are broken souls. “Better than risky liberty” they will say. Republican house slaves HAVE a little pride and are embarrassed about being slaves. “I’m NOT a slave” they will say, nonetheless will FIGHT TO PRESERVE the plantation, as they are content and FEEL “safe”, as long as they are NOT field slaves. Now… the field slaves (Tea Party, Liberty supporters) HATE their slavery and plan escape every waking moment. But their efforts are ALWAYS sabotaged by the republican house slaves, who CLAIM to seek freedom, but HATE freedom.
The plantation “massa” (Obama/Romney) KNOW the house slaves will fight the field slaves to preserve the plantation, as long as they are FOOLED into thinking the massas are “conservative” vs. “liberal” AND that they will be remain HOUSE slaves and not be put in the field to toil. Fact: Net illegal immigration is close to zero today, thanks to Obama’s tough policy at the border. Even Republicans have commended him for this.
Great Ad!! I loved it and Obama folks are putting Romney on the defensive and really chipping away at his numbers. Really meek response from the Romney campaign.

You are right, one of the reason it is down because of the economy. If we had not strengthen the border then the illegal immigration would have gone up. BTW they have very vigilant on H-1 visas too. Cracking down hard on employers who hire illegal immigrants. You may not agree but his administration has done a good job on immigration.

Posted on July 14, 2012 at 1:34pmCBROWN, using terms for which you do not know the definition exposes you as an ignorant fool (aka Democrat). “Crony Capitalism” means the Government picking winners and losers in nusiness. It was coined to describe Obama administration policies. It also exposes, as clearly as can be, the Left’s use of a fallacious defense mechanism called Projection. This is the act of falsely accusing your opponent of those things of which you are actually guilty. In this case, Obama IS actually a Crony Capitalist,so his supporters scream “Mitt Romney is a Crony Capitalist!”. In other recent cases, Obama has been proven a Liar, so his supporters scream “Mitt Romney is a Liar!”. They are pitiful indeed and their mindless followers are even more so.

Posted on July 14, 2012 at 3:24pmObama and his friends admire rich successful folks. They respect them and proud we have a bunch of them in our country. The problem we have are with folks game the system. A example is Private Equity using LBO. In a leverage buy out the PE firm sometimes runs the firm into bankruptcy but the PE firms still makes money. Or when firms outsource jobs and gut the eco-system. Again a short term gain with a long term loss. In the long term unemployment figure you will see a significant jump in older (54+) , former working class folks. Also, another set of crony capitalist are these credit card companies (duopoly). Small Business are screwed by them and they have no choice because they .influence Congress and keep jacking up their fees.
Government investment into science, infrastructure and medicine is not a bad idea. BTW Internet, GPS, semi-conductor, bio-engineering, … were kicked off by Government investment. Free market does well with Public – Private partnership. When the country going thru a recession then we have to spend a bit to create demand and invest for the future. In good times cut these spending.
Liberals and Conservatives both have good ideas and I give you great examples from both sides. The country today is divided 50-50 and we have to compromise and get ahead. Earlier we solve our problems the better it is, in future the solution is gong to worse.
