Obama Admin Seeks $469M To Prevent Overseas ‘Global Warming’ Disasters — Including Terrorism

In its ongoing effort to battle “global climate change” (née “global warming”) and slow the rise of the oceans, the Obama administration has latched onto a $469 million dollar initiative designed to prevent disasters caused by climate change — including terrorism — in Africa and South America

Green programs included in the new climate change scheme, which would be handled through USAID, range from “helping farmers preserve pastureland to helping women who can’t afford to move from hot and dry areas made worse by global warming,” according to the Washington Examiner’s Paul Bedard.

Several democrats, including former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, predict “ideological” House Republicans will fight the administration’s latest “global warming” — er — “global climate change” initiative.

And although U.S. taxpayers have already paid handsomely for “global climate change” prevention, it could be decades before any country sees the global warming disasters the administration says we need to be protected from, one State Department official said.

“That’s because rising temperatures and varying rainfall “are things that are slowly progressing over time, on a decades-long scale,” said Kit Batten, the global climate change coordinator at USAID, at the Center for American Progress (CAP) symposium.

“You don’t have a sharp turning point,” she added.

And it was CAP that posited the theory (later picked up by the Obama administration) that climate change, if not properly prevented, could lead to terrorism.

How does that work?

Climate change “might change human migration in north-western Africa, likely opening up huge swaths of land to terror groups like al Qaeda. Also, ‘disenfranchised youth’ would be push into terrorism,” Bedard writes.

“The administration believes that helping farmers use a greener growing processes and reducing carbon emissions will thwart that change–and reduce terror threats–by cutting the potential for rising temperatures and odd rain patterns that ignite human migration,” he adds.

The Obama administration’s interest in this latest anti-climate change scheme is part of an overall push for a “greener” environment.

“[T]he president’s reelection campaign is talking up the environment, global warming and Sunday’s Earth Day, even using it to raise money for his campaign,” Bedard notes.

In fact, the following message, which would seem to imply the president’s opponents dig polluted water and air, was put out by his reelection campaign Monday:

President Obama knows we don’t have to sacrifice clean air and clean water to create jobs and grow our economy. But time and again, we’ve seen that our opponents are willing to play politics with the health of our natural resources—and the American people—just to protect the bottom line of their special-interest allies. If it was up to them, we’d have no EPA working to protect our kids from harmful air pollution or make sure our water is safe to drink—polluters would once again have a free pass. And I probably don’t need to remind you of their views on climate change.

      Getting back to our Constitutional roots should be the biggest concern among all voters this election. It has been slowly eroded away for a century by progressives on both sides of the aisle. Everyone should watch these video’s. The first has been edited down for time constraint, but gets the message out that everyone should be realizing. The second is eye opening but I know some will start to watch, then stop, because they do not want to hear the truth. But please, watch the entire thing. The media has been lying the entire election so far and it is time to see the truth the media will not say.

      Is there ever enough money for this disaster to redistribute? One day it’s this; the next day it’s that. Give me a break. He DESPISES the taxpayers that he uses to fund his boondoggles. He only cares about those who do not pay taxes, yet relies on the 95 million of us, out of 309 million in this country, to foot the bill of all of his green initiative failures and redistribution. Think about that taxpayer- less than 1/3 of us are driving the heartbeat of this country and are being told we are not paying enough. Is that fair? And exactly what is my fairshare? I would like a number.

    Ahhh….yesssss! Another scam in getting us to pay for not only global warming, but also in taking wealth from our country and putting it into Africa! I say send Hillary right away and leave her there! Just another scam! Now BHO wants to also increase student loans here in America? Not like the car scam could do any harm and also the housing scam on top of it. Now the bond market bubble is ready to burst! You’d think he would want to get out of debt, but he keeps pushing the envelope even more to the brink of disaster! I really don’t trust any of the government these days nor do I really think they want us to ever have any say here in America! Having so many lawyers in the government isn’t a wise idea to begin with! What ever happened to normal hard working people?

    this is crap. climate change is cyclic. in small amounts over 7 year cycles. in greater amounts over epochs. and over many cycles of varying lengths over numerous different periods of times, decades, centuries and the like. man just isn‘t enough of a force to change earth’s climate.
