Obama: ‘Scared’ Americans Aren’t Thinking ‘Clearly’

In his remarks at a Democratic fundraiser in Massachusetts Saturday evening, President Barack Obama said that Americans’ fear and frustration” are to blame for an intensely competitive midterm election season favoring Republican candidates.

“Part of the reason that our politics seems so tough right now and facts and science and argument does not seem to be winning the day all the time is because we‘re hardwired not to always think clearly when we’re scared,” Obama said Saturday evening in remarks at a small Democratic fundraiser Saturday evening. “And the country’s scared.”

Obama told the several dozen donors that he was offering them his “view from the Oval Office.” According to Politico, Obama blamed the economic downturn for Americans’ inability to “think clearly” and said the burden is on Democrats “to break through the fear and the frustration people are feeling.”

“You can respond in a couple of ways to a trauma like this,” Obama said, referring to the economy. “One is to pull back, retrench and respond to your fears by pushing away challenges, looking backwards. Another is to say we can meet these challenges and we are going to move forward. And that’s what this election is about.”

In similar remarks earlier in the day, Obama blamed Republicans for being uncooperative, saying the party decided to “ride people’s anger and frustration all the way to the ballot box,” and predicted more partisanship and gridlock next year. “I don’t anticipate that getting better next year,” he said. “I anticipate that getting worse.”

The president also campaigned in Ohio this weekend with a similar message:

So instead I should just give up thijnking all together and become the lock step citizen that he wants to rule over. Obama now says that he just hasn’t communicated his message well. He hasn’t been able to orate as well. Doesn’t it enter his mind that it is not the messenger..it is the message. The more that we learn about the corruption of TARP2, the insider deals of the omnibus bill, the exemptions of the stimulus bill, the dishonesty of the jobs bill…that is what we don’t like. It is not about who comes out as the pitchman..It is about content. The Obama isn’t pitching the message is not the point..the corruption of the legislation is the point. We are done with being treated like we are too stupid to know what he is talking about..we want substance and truth..not just corrupt political pandering. Saying that it is not corrupt doesn’t make it uncorrupt.

Again, Progressives are more intelligent then Conservatives. Look at all your right wing extremists who are currently representing the Republican party. O’Donnell, Miller, Angle, Paladino, etc. These people are monsters but Republicans will vote them in. Why? The answer is Republicans are followers and vote based on the Party not the platform. We just got done dealing with 8 years of a moronic Administration. President Obama may not be the best President, but I guarantee you if a Republican president were making the same decisions you all would support him. Why? Republicans are NOT intelligent. Of course, I’m generalizing to include mostly the average Republican.

The citizens of America scared because of the Progressives turning us into a Socialist nightmare? Government out of control? People of the US wanting to take back all the power seized by a handful of political ruling elites?

Sounds to me Mr Obama that it is not us – the people of America – who are running scared, we are running furious and mad for the ballot boxes.

Mr Obama you said you would fundamentally change America – and you have – for the people of America are coming to vote and take our country back. No matter how much those locked into the system hate, rage, rant, twist and blame the truth of matters.

For too long you Progressives have denied the people of America and now are scared to the core for to paraphrase the old saying “WE COME FOR YOU!!!”

May God see our country safe into the light from the storm that is now upon us, and when the Progressives loose in Nov. may He preserve us from their final desperate actions to keep the night from succuming unto the light.

No, he is absolutely correct – if you are being foreclosed on, have no job, no healthcare for your family – fear sets in and fear can stop individuals from thinking correct. Its a scientific fact – thats why politician love to us the politics of fear! True! Much medical and scientific research has been done in this area.

He has a point: Americans are scared. Not of change, though, since change is inevitable; voting for Obama under his simplistic campaign slogan of “hope and change” illustrates that point. But Americans want change for the better.

What is scary to many Americans is the direction of that change. Rather than taking steps to restore prosperity and individual liberty, Obama has pointed us towards ever expanding government, expanding government control of the economy, and reduction of individual liberty…all funded by a massive and unsustainable debt.

If Obama’s policies and goals were actually new ideas, he comments regarding fear of change would be valid. But they are not new; they are simply a repackaging of old ideas which have failed over and over again throughout the world and lead to misery for millions. At a time when the rest of the world is backing away from Socialism, we are plunging headlong into it. Are we scared of that? Hell yes.

History has shown the best way to foster prosperity through the creation of wealth is by limited government, free markets and individual liberties. The philosophy of limited Government is not new to America and, yes, it can be considered Reactionary (“looking back” as Obama like to put it), but no one wants to go back to America as it was in 1800…all we want a modern America reshaped using our founding principles.

He is also partially correct about the Republicans causing this mess; of course, the part that he leaves out is that the Democrats favor the same policies, but larger and faster. It would be more correct to say that Progressives, those (both R and D) that support Obama’s vision of America, are the ones that caused (and are perpetuating) the crisis. The good news is that America is awakening. New politicians that support the real American vision are winning over the entrenched career politicians and their Crony Capitalism. We are scared, but now we have hope for real change for the better.

What else are you to say when you are the front man of a coup that’s coalition of faithful is wavering and is on the verge of mutiny . . . Especially when it is a litany of deceptions that stands as their crumbling foundation.

I would imagine that Castro can relate . . . as can Chavez . . . Perhaps there’s a section in that special book, “The Open Veins of Latin America” that Hugo presented to the young inexperienced, up and coming revolutionist back in April of 2009. Perhaps it details such deceptions and how to keep them standing in the face of persistent truths and their destiny.

But truth is watching you Mr. President . . . picking away at your sand pile one granule at a time. And when mutiny finally sets in, and your media turns its back on you, the winds of change will turn your foundation into dust. Look around you Mr. President; are you standing on rock or do you feel your feet giving way?

Our Federal government refused a COLA for our senior citizens for the second year in a row; yet, sent $100 Billion over the next ten years to the Global Fund to help developing nations… Of course, this was done under the radar… And if our Federal government truly cared about our disastrous “economy” and ever-growing lack of jobs, they would just mandate E-Verify nationwide… Eight million jobs, currently stolen by illegal aliens, would open up overnight. Again, all talk and no show…

The Founding Fathers fought the Revolutionary War to free our country from the tyranny of King George III. Since our freedom was won, politicians have used the promise of unearned wealth and security to usurp that freedom and recreate tyranny, under new management.
The American Revolution has not been in so much danger since George Washington’s troops crossed the Delaware River on Christmas Eve in 1776.

“21st Century Common Sense” exposes the modern tyranny and proves that freedom is the basis of prosperity and wellbeing demonstrates that Tyranny creates only poverty and despair.
To help the victims of our educational system understand our danger, these subjects are discussed before proceeding to the scrutiny of the tyranny:
      • Creation of wealth
      • The relationship between wealth, freedom and money
      • The tyrant’s strategy and tactics
      • The economic systems: tyranny, the mixed economy and capitalism

The results of five of the wannabe tyrant’s “showcase programs”, some over 100 years old, are analyzed to expose their effects on the economy and creeping tyranny resulting from the wannabe tyrant’s agenda. These five programs are:
      • The Sherman Antitrust Laws
      • Bureaucracy
      • Inflation
      • Earmarks
      • The Income Tax

The final chapter identifies the greatest danger to the American Revolution and provides the recipe to regain our freedom and prosperity.

Dr Paul Brand, who pioneered surgical techniques for sufferers of leprosy, did extensive studies of 2 things; fear and pain. He found that fear and pain were healthy for us, as children, we burn ourselves and the healthy fear of that pain keep us from getting too close to fire, preventing us from being burned.

The analogy can be carried further, Mr Obama, we are scared, scared of being burned by your policies. That healthy fear, Lord willing, will keep us from allowing you and the other progressives from “fundamentally remaking the country” into your warped view of what you think it should be.

There is a reason that the Marines normally don’t use the newest of the new technologies. They use the stuff that is known to work and be reliable.
