Obama Attacks Job-Killing ATM Machines, MRC TV Responds With Hilarious Spoof Video

A few days ago, President Obama claimed that ATM machines are part of the problem when it comes to America’s ongoing unemployment conundrum. Today, MRC TV released an entertaining rebuttal.
On Wednesday, the president said:
“There are some structural issues with our economy where a lot of businesses have learned to become much more efficient with a lot fewer workers. You see it when you go to a bank and you use an ATM. You don’t go to a bank teller. Or you go to the airport and you’re using a kiosk instead of checking at the gate. So all these things have created changes in the economy.”
Of course, Republicans have had a field day making fun of this assertion. Meredith Jessup covered House Speaker John Boehner’s hilarious response on The Blaze blog this past Wednesday. Following Obama’s comments, Boehner‘s office released a poking letter from the ATMs’ perspective. A portion of it reads:
President Obama says I’m to blame for high unemployment – part of the “structural” problems with the economy. Yes, he actually said my electronic brethren and I – who dispense cash and make lines move a little more quickly at the airport – are part of the reason 1.5 million fewer Americans have jobs than when the “stimulus” was enacted.
You can read the rest here. While the letter is certainly partisan (and equally as entertaining and the president’s original comments), MarketWatch says that executives and economists agree with critics on this one. Jobs numbers simply do not back up Obama’s assertions:
…there are actually more bank tellers in the U.S. now than there were five, 15 or even 25 years ago, when ATMs first became widely available. Except for a small drop after the recent recession, the number of tellers has risen gradually for the past century.
To respond to the entire debacle, MRC TV set out on a mock crusade to get Americans to sign a petition “banning job-killing ATM machines.” The results are truly enjoyable. Watch below:

Maybe government would follow the same lead. The government will never create a job more efficient than throwing hard earned tax dollars to regulate the very people that earned it. 2 million conflicts of interest jobs do not grow the economy, schtupid! As a 40 year old person, I can say I’ve seen ATM machines in just about every retail location now for the past 30 years. However.. that does NOT explain WHY we have lost MORE jobs since Obama started creating those stimulus ones…. Maybe it’s the fact people no longer have money.. therefore there is no need to manufacture more ATM’S?? NEXT ALL the cashiers will be replaced with self checkouts.. cause there won’t be enough people with money to buy anything..therefore there will be NO NEED for cashiers.. BTW.. I never use self checkout.. for the purpose of keeping someone employed (hopefully).. besides why should I do the work the store should be doing.. they aren’t giving me a discount..

What the President did NOT say in the carefully cropped clip was that ATMs were responsible for unemployment. Somebody post THAT clip please.
Automation has replaced human effort since when? the beginning of the Industrial Age? 150 years ago? Do you seriously believe that a Harvard educated President is astonished that automation and computers replace human effort? Or was he making another point, about how banks are screwing you out of a couple of bucks every time you use an ATM, a transaction that costs them a pennies.
It’s astonishing to me that people vigorously oppose any legislation prevents big banks (the ones you pay your credit card bills to) and big businesses from screwing you every way they can.
And that ability for those businesses to charge you 25% interest on a credit card debt, and a $2.50 charge for withdrawing $20 bucks is not called “unfair,” it’s called Freedom. And any effort that prevents banks and businesses from screwing Americans is called “tyranny.”
That’s called “brainwashing.”

Get a different bank and pay off your credit cards. I have never paid a cent of interest nor a cent for ATM withdrawals. As a matter of fact I have a credit card that actually pays me a few hundred bucks a year! It still is beyond how you can be so skeptical of business and banks but is completely absent on big government. All are people and all have the same shortcomings.

All of these jack-wagons that signed it are “surface thinkers”. The survey should have included several more questions….like um….”Who did you vote for as Prez. in the last election?“ ”What is your highest education level?“ ”Are you aware of how shallow you are?“ ”How often do your peers call you an ‘idiot’ for something you said or did?”
Sadly, we DO need a couple of decades under a crushing Depression — just to wake these idiots up, it seems.
