Obama Breaks Silence on Biden Remarks: Got ‘A Little Bit Over His Skis’ on Same-Sex Marriage

President Barack Obama said he had already planned to come out in support of same-sex marriage this year, though admitted Vice President Joe Biden accelerated the timeline a little bit.
“I had already made a decision that we were going to probably take this position before the election, before the convention,” Obama told ABC News in an interview aired Thursday. “He probably got out a little bit over his skis, but out of generosity of spirit.”
Biden said on Sunday’s “Meet the Press” that he was “absolutely comfortable” with marriage rights for same-sex couples. Still, Obama said he wasn’t upset with his No. 2.
“Would I have preferred to have done this in my own way, in my own terms without I think there being a lot of notice to everyone? Sure. But all’s well that ends well,” Obama said.

Also during the interview, Obama addressed the now-famous clip of him leaving first lady Michelle Obama on Air Force One.
“I thought she was behind me!” Obama said. “She gave me so much grief.”

This answer in this interview as deliberately crafted to make him appear sympathetic to those who support gay marriage, but permits him to be non threatening to those who oppose it because it is stated as a personal opinion. Presidential opinion, unlike that of the Supreme Court Justices, carries no legal weight. Obama fully intends to do nothing on the issue of gay marriage, yet appease those who desire him to do something.
For months he has sat upon an executive order crafted by gay activists that would prohibit discrimination upon the basis of gender identity or preference for federal contractors. This is an example of an area where he can act, but elects not to.
If Obama can be forced into acting on this issue, the backlash will hurt him in the election. The way to do this is to point out to lefties how Obama is choosing not to act on gay marriage and just appeasing them with opinions.

I have a feeling He’s going to drop Biden like a lead balloon and put Hillary in the number 2 spot…
Then it will be a landslide victory Him and Hillary and she then can make a run in 2016…

Kudos to OB, though, for endorsing same-sex marriage. It was the right thing to do, whether or not Biden forced his hand. He always said he didn’t care if he was a one-term president; perhaps now he’ll get his wish!
