As the president gears up for the 2012 campaign, he may need to brush up on his stump speeches. Sure, he’s canned the teleprompters recently, but telling America we need to “build stuff and invent stuff” isn’t really the epitome of eloquence:

The other ways are not desirable and the last means of keeping our country. Whatever the case, we need to reclaim the United States as it was meant to be, not as the progressive agenda wants it to be.

Progressives deserve to have everything exactly as they desire. What better way than to provide them half of the nation’s lands? They can develop their own government. They won’t need and army. They can tax and spend to their heart’s content. They won’t have to deal with our archaic Constitution. Best of all, they can regulate every aspect of life cradle to grave. Why doesn’t this idea gain better traction?

The Constitution is 8 pages long. It was written to be understood by the farmer, craftsman, and the lawyer, but it is the lawyers who have the most trouble understanding it.

His workers made it better but Edison him self did not. That would be like saying he invented electricity. He had nothing to do with that except by stock in DC generators.

Our President does know how to invent stuff though. He does it every time he speaks to us. Repect for office inhibits me from giving what he does it’s proper name.
And to give credit where credit is due…,his financial team did INVENT a new United States currency called “Phony Dough”.
His foreign policy wizards did INVENT a whole new approach to the Palestinian problem called,“Blame Israel”.
His United Nations team did INVENT a whole new concept of this nation as one with myriad Human Rights abuses so that we could be taken to task by the likes of Saudi Arabia.
And please…, let us not forget that while we are engaged in a two front war against Islamofascism his crack Joint Chiefs appointees ALL were willing to INVENT a kinder, gentler, military by repealing “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”…, with the added bonus of WOMEN serving in combat! WOW!

My contribution? I am working on a way to dispose of my Al Gore, twisty, G.E., Immelt, mercury laden lightbulbs safely. As soon as I do I will contact the E.P.A. which as I write is “INVENTING” ways to tax us for carbon dioxide abuses.

It takes over 800 million dollars to bring 1 product to market because of all the gov regulation, and it just keeps getting worse. The pharma companies aren’t allowed to make a profit so the have stopped much of their R&D. No new meds will becoming because of Obamacare.

The FDA has been shutting down manufacturing facillities under the guise of safety. The reality is that if the man ufacturing of drugs is slowed down, their use will be slowed and consequenly Medicare/Medicaid payments will be slowed. The attack is unprecedented. Call you local HOSPITAL pharmacy and ask if there is a shortage of any drugs. The list is long.

I wonder how much of that 800 million is spent on litigation and government red tape “for the good of the people”? Some protection is needed but how far have we gone?

You can’t snap your fingers and make the USA competitive at manufacturing again. This President is pro-business to some extent: pro BIG business. One is truly revolutionary idea of a new fuel system (no Im not crazy its legit and could change everything!) based off of already existing proven technology. These guys do everything possible to squash the inventor of today where a 100yrs ago they were embracing them. It sucks there are so many like myself with true potential who cant get a shot at a job or bringing something truly innovative to the market!
@Grandma: you got taken. Sorry but I must tell you the truth those new product companies rip ppl off. You have to do the footwork yourself. I got taken when I was 19 by an invention company on one of my designs. They never marketed it to the right ppl, instead of actual gadget mfgs, they mkt’d to plumbing business etc.

That way the speaker could make fantastic, stirring, and highly emotional speeches to the public without having to look down at his notes. As a matter of fact, the speaker would not have to write the speeches himself. He could have a trained staff who are artists when it comes to rhetoric. The speaker could esentially be a stuffed-suit who simply recited the propoganda that magically appears on the invisible screens in front of him. If he had some style or charisma, he could sell the people anything or demonize anyone who publicly opposed the agenda behind the speeh-writers. Nah……too diabolical. I have a conscience, you know! I suppose that I will just keep trying to perfect my new airport security device….you don’t even need to take your clothes off! Such convenience!

You forgot to mention another very important reason why “humanity was stuck at the same level of technology” for so long: Religion!. Science has been in a battle with the church from day one. Copernicus, Galileo and countless other men of science, were persecuted, even killed by the church.
The wisdom of the ages was almost wiped out by the religious book burning of the dark ages. If it wasn’t for Arab translations of the classics in Iraqi libraries – out of reach of the Christian church – most of literature and documents would have been lost.
Even today the tentacles of religion have a large percentage of Americans believing that Darwin’s scientific theory of evolution – the basis of all biology and modern medicine – is a hoax.
Never mind Obama’s followers, because of religion, the age of reason has yet to take hold of much of America!

We find a way to slice up motgages in tiny pieces
then we mix them all together so the bad ones are all mixed in with good ones
We cram as many bad slices as we can but not too many we still want a AAA rating
then we create a big box full of these mortgages as investments to pension funds and foreign countries, we give the brokers huge commissions for dumping them, i mean selling them.
then to get those pesky liabilities off bank books we create an insurance program so that we can move the products off the banks books in exchange for an insurance policy
now the banks can do keep creating more mortgages keep hiding those ridicously bad ones
and now we have a great system to get every american a house.
How’s that for something new? I hope no body did that yet!!

I know that’s the standard Leftist dogma. Ironically, the Catholic Church was quite pro-science, but you have to read books about it by actual historians instead of political screeds by people inspired by Mark. That said, yes, religion did help keep things regressed, but religion had NO power without the various states backing them up. The Pope could decree all the live long day, but as England proved (and later, Martin Luther) if the state says “nope” then the Church was impotent.
It was, in fact, the Protestant birth that gave rise to individual literacy across Europe, which gave rise to the Renaissance. Protestants, last check, were religious. And lest we forget, up until oh, forty years ago, the vast majority of Americans and Europeans were quite religious.
So clearly, if it were religion doing it, then we’d still be living in the dark ages technologically.

Most large companies are no longer American companies, Yes, they may have office headquarters in the U.S. but they are really huge multinational, global corporations. They operate outside of national boundaries. Hence the constant push for free trade with other countries.
Multinationals have no loyalty to the good old U.S.of A. – only to profits. They think nothing of closing down American shops to relocate where labor and production costs are cheaper. As a result, unemployment goes up here. Business then ships their products back to the U.S. and other countries to sell, but people here either aren’t working or are earning less, so they can’t afford to buy the goods. The economy stalls and more jobs are lost, The process repeats on and on.
The only way to fix today’s American economy is to see the problem as a global problem, not to wear blinders to shut out the rest of the world.

Many have to have degrees (again NOT the ones on the line at car companies) just to get a job.. and certain ones have to keep going to school.. (wouldn’t want someone bring a electric wire from the pole to your home WITHOUT some kind of knowledge of electric would you?).. HOWEVER when they bailed out the car companies instead of allowing them to fail it was wrong.. I know a few union workers who DO NOT get a lifetime pension at 50 or 55.. nor will they be getting lifetime healthcare.. they DO pay SS and they DO have a 401K.. just like the private sector.. However.. Most INDUSTRIAL unions now have a small pension plan for their employees, a one time payout for healthcare when you retire..and your on your own with SS (if it’s still around) and their 401K.. The ONLY unions who have the OLD type UNION benefits are GOVERNMENT controlled.. either FEDERAL, LOCAL or STATE.. and to get a job with one of them you have to KNOW someone.. and the taxpayers get to pay these huge pensions unlike what goes on in industrial unions..

I’d be more inclined to anticipate a variation on this theme. A new invention would be incentive for liberals to craft a whole bunch of new ordinances and regulations. They don‘t like enforcing most of the laws on the books now because it’s just so much more fun to keep dreaming up new ones with all the new regulatory bodies to oversee them.

How about we invent a smaller, less intrusive government, that lets a man keep more of what he earned than the government can steal. Oh wait… they did.
