Obama Caught on Hot Mic: Tells Russian Prez He‘ll Have More ’Flexibility‘ ’After My Election’

ABC’s Jake Tapper has a stunning report out of Seoul, South Korea this morning. According to him, President Obama was caught on a hot mic telling outgoing Russian President Dmitri Medvedev that if given “space,” he’ll have more flexibility “after my election.”

Here’s how Tapper puts it:

At the tail end of his 90 minute meeting with Russian President Dmitri Medvedev Monday, President Obama said that he would have “more flexibility” to deal with controversial issues such as missile defense, but incoming Russian President Vladimir Putin needs to give him “space.”

The exchange was picked up by microphones as reporters were let into the room for remarks by the two leaders.

And here’s the exchange:

President Obama: On all these issues, but particularly missile defense, this, this can be solved but it’s important for him to give me space.

President Medvedev: Yeah, I understand. I understand your message about space. Space for you…

President Obama: This is my last election. After my election I have more flexibility.

President Medvedev: I understand. I will transmit this information to Vladimir.

You can hear the comments below:

A senior administration official tried to brush it aside in a statement to ABC: “this is a political year in which the Russians just had an election, we’re about to have a presidential and congressional elections — this is not the kind of year in which we’re going to resolve incredibly complicated issue like this. So there’s an advantage to pulling back and letting the technical experts work on this as the president has been saying.”

Fox News has the official statement from the White House:

Ben Rhodes, deputy national security adviser for strategic communications, said the U.S. is “committed” to implementing the missile defense system, “which we’ve repeatedly said is not aimed at Russia.”

“However, given the longstanding difference between the U.S. and Russia on this issue, it will take time and technical work before we can try to reach an agreement,” he said in a statement.

“Since 2012 is an election year in both countries, with an election and leadership transition in Russia and an election in the United States, it is clearly not a year in which we are going to achieve a breakthrough. Therefore, President Obama and President Medvedev agreed that it was best to instruct our technical experts to do the work of better understanding our respective positions, providing space for continued discussions on missile defense cooperation going forward.”

This isn’t the first time Obama has been caught on a hot mic. In November he was overheard blasting Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu to French President Sarkozy. Additionally, Vice President Joe Biden was heard telling Obama the health care bill was a “big fu**ing deal” after that legislation passed.

The latter was just turned into a t-shirt by the Obama campaign.

      If this black racist gets in for another term, I’m pretty sure there is going to be armed racial conflicts, not just because of his policies, but because of both his action and the action of Eric Holder and other anti-white, pro-black racists in the administration. There‘s a good chance we’ll see the second civil war unfold also.

      Just look at how the black war mongers are creating a big lie out of the Zimmerman incident, which is filled with their veiled threats of violence and outright calls for armed conflict. They don’t care whether Zimmerman is guilty or not, they want control of the US with the community organizer as their president.

      Another term means an even more anti-white, anti-America attitude, and these uprisings will be common place.

      They don’t really need a just reason to call for “racial justice. (Civil war) Anything will do.

      I am generally not a fan of improper photograph use for news articles. the left seems to do it the most, where they find a “cought off-guard” photo, and use it for the cover of the story. They loved doing it to Bush. The Blaze does it also, and you oftne see the pic of Obama with his head cocked back, or the crazy pics of Pelosi or Hillary.

      That being said, the cover pic for this story was brilliant. I had a good laugh over it.

      THIS IS A BOMBSHELL FOR OBAMA. Obama is “Frank, Candid, and Honest” about not being able to address an important issue before the election. He asked Putin ease up on the missile defense issue and give him time and space to focus on his reelection campaign. This would be a big distraction for him now, and would not help him get reelected.       Talking behind people’s back is nothing new for the slick tongue and cool bravado of President Obama. Will the masses be upset that this time he‘s talking behind the people’s back and not Netanyahu’s? I doubt it. I actually think this is exactly the Hope and Change they voted for in ‘08; and they will prove my point this November when he’s re-elected.

      Even if he’s not re-elected, we‘re still in trouble as I really don’t think we’ll have a new leader of the executive branch come February 2013 either way. The NDAA and re-defining of when martial law can be applied by the President happened on his watch for a reason I’m afraid.

      I appreciate you comments.

      Just recently I did a 12 hour trip (two ways) with an atheist. We had some very interesting conversations (discussions, not arguments). he is a very educated and well read individual, and I learned a number of things in regards to world history and other topics.

      He found it interesting that politically, and on issues concerning morality that we are very parallel in our thinking. As a born again Christian, I draw my beliefs mainly from what I know Biblically. He drew his beliefs from applications of history, logic, and critical thinking. We still drew the same conclusions though on most topics.

      So many on the left claim to be followers of knowledge and education, but they have no ability to argue, because they refuse to apply logic (especially to topics like welfare). In my opinion, those on the left are more religious in their devout following of secular humanism (a religion) than what most that claim Christianity.

      I’ll tell you where our ethically challenged representatives have been–they’ve been too busy enriching themselves with insider trading stock deals, voting themselves raises and new benefits, etc. etc. to pay attention to what the Great Eared One is doing. They really don’t CARE what happens to the rest of us, as long as they get theirs.

      They don’t seem to realize that by abrogating the powers of Congress to the Eared One, they have made themselves irrelevent, and therefore prime candidates for the gulag or chopping block once he declares himself “Dictator for Life”–thanks largely to their complete derelection of the duties of their offices.       Screamineagle, I agree with your statement, but I am afraid that the American people are going to do it again with Romney. Americans again are fed up, scared, hurting and are looking for something to help them. They listen to the lies and believe them over and over again. If we are to remain a free and prosperous country, we need to get back to the roots that made us great in the first place. The free market will take care of everything with a little time, but if we ignore it, we will face destruction. Our economy will fall and the establishments only solution will be to join with the IMF and U.N. and create a one world economic solution, so that we might never experience this crisis again. I can just hear them now. If people want to be scared, they should be horrified at that scenario. At least with Paul, we know where he stands and he will not agree to give up our sovereignty.

      Spine, Entitlements are soaring under Obama’s administration – his spending makes Bush look like a penny pincher. The unemployment numbers are worse than they are being touted and the MSM is doing its best to put a happy face on the economy. Gas prices have more than doubled since he has been in office and his energy policies are hurting, not helping (with his own energy secretary first admitting his goal was not to bring down gas prices. More people are receiving government assistance as programs are being expanded. Obama is using class warfare and wants to redistribute the wealth (what is that called, Spine?) Remember, the ‘redistribute the wealth’ were his words. His health care bill is vastly more costly than previously stated, he is promising freebies to suck in the useful idiots, and he ignores congress as he puffs up his chest and declares, “If they don’t pass my policies, I will”. He is probably one of the worst offenders of the constitution and his leadership skills are lacking since he demonizes his opponents while crying for bi-partisanship. He started his presidency declaring his partisanship when he told the republicans he didn’t need them. The flushing sound, Spine, is the country if Obama is elected for another 4 years.

      ECONOMIST? Lol. I stopped at reading his newsletters. He couldn’t seem to manage those… doubt he can manage his porfolio w/o financial help… nor a country for that matter… regardless of what mediocre talent he recruits and has supporting him.

      No matter what you say, we will not have anything different in this country until we all have the courage and foresight to do what is necessary. Stop the status quo. The status quo did not start with Obama, and it will not end with Obama as long as we take the easy road. We need to throw a monkey wrench into the establishment machine. That monkey wrench is Ron Paul. He is the only candidate that will throw the car into reverse and stop the progression we have been on for decades. For those of you who do not see that, you will deserve what you get. It is not if Obama gets elected, but who we replace him with. I hope that more will wake up to the fact that moving away from the Constitution is the problem, and electing someone who will continue even one small present policy, could be disasterous. None have a better record on the second amendment than Paul, and that is the only one they have had difficulty trashing. Elect a candidate that promises to abide by the Constitution or perish.
