Obama Confronts Heckler Over Iran: ‘Nobody Has Announced a War, Young Lady’

At a fundraiser in New York City on Thursday, a heckler interrupted the president’s speech to defend any action against Iran. That prompted the president to stop, wage his finger, and tell the protester, “Nobody has announced a wary, young lady.”
The woman reportedly shouted, “Use your leadership! No war on Iran!”
Obama responded: “No one’s announced a war, young lady. … You’re jumping the gun a little bit there.”
The comments originally sparked a little more controversy after the pool reporter noted the president said “Nobody has announced a war yet,” which some said signaled imminent action. The pool reporter eventually corrected the record and deleted “yet.”
The event, at ABC Carpet & Home, cost attendees $1,000 per person.
By the way, according to the Daily Beast, “The fundraiser, his 100th of the reelection campaign, was one of a slew of events held Thursday night in the heart of Manhattan. At the swankiest of affairs, guests paid $35,8000 a plate at ABC Kitchen—a nearby popular dining spot.”

But our public servants are provoking Iran to strike first (this is called “blowback”), just like FDR did to the Japanese.

“The Lew Rockwell.com site…. LOL.
“One of the possibilities (besides Paul himself) of being Ron Paul’s Newsletter ghostwriter. Great source of information for the racist in someone…”
Let’s talk about the so-called racist newsletters, then.
Only one newsletter that I have learned about so far (the one about the “disappearing white majority”) is marginally racist; though I admit that the since lists of supposedly racist comments from those newsletters (which include such sentiments as “libertarians can’t be racist”, etc.) that I have seen posted in The Blaze’s Comments section are obviously NOT racist, that I am loathe to seek out the rest of the comments on my own.
And I’ve already dealt with the one article before: Even the marginally racist comments can be excused given the qualifications made, and also given the fact that MOST people find it difficult to see the necessarily racist basis for race-based cultural identities (e.g. “Black Community”, “White Community”, etc.), and to see that it is impossible for one’s race to compel them to hold any kind of philosophy at all.
We are all equal as far as our capacity for discovering truth; But to the extent that our philosophy leads us to equate genetics with behavior, is the extent that we will group ourselves by color; Therefore, critiques of race-based cultural identities are not racist, per se.

No, I am not for war in the least. But, I am for defending freedom. I would rather be dead than live in tyranny.
BTW- I lived in the Middle East for two years. Not fun people! Not fun, please do not let Islam get any hold over here. You think the people of Greece look dead in side? We have going back over forty years now continued (for some reason) to feel giving up small pieces at a time of our liberty and freedom is ok. It is never ok . 9/11 was a decapitation strike against America. Our enemy went after our economy, military, and government. From that point weak leadership failed to unite the nation and send one clear message to our enemy. When you see our armies wave a white flag of surrender or stand and die for your misguided beliefs. Then destroyed to surrender and victory all that wanted to die for this evil ideology. The Muslims are no different than a growing ideology of hate and death. They soon will have growing armies and weapons. We the people of the United States are a boulder in their path to domination. To not realize this one would be a fool. Your freedom and national security is being put at stake. It is simply a sad state to a free people to believe adding defensive security (homeland security) without a goal to winning offense. Weak leadership sending this nation down the path of self gratification has now also lead to weaker leadership leaving our fighting forces in harms way without a direction to victory.

Something tells me we would be a little more than just deliver empty rhetoric and threats similar to Iran. And why would any country accept a determination by countries that have nukes regarding who can and can’t have them. If you can’t see the middle east for what it is…the replacement for the BS cold war, communist threat for the purpose of continuing and growing the military industrial complex, your simply not a rational person. You sit here safe in the US, while we have war ships, military bases, and troops in neighboring countries and try to pitch that Iran is a threat. Can you possibly say that if you were Iran, facing a nuclear Israel, you wouldn’t develop one. Seriously, answer that honestly. Posted on March 2, 2012 at 9:09amProgressives/ Liberals crack me up. If you actually analyze everything that Liberals support and defend, you will find that Liberals support anything and everything that ends life. But the funny thing is that because most Liberals are not really spiritual (in that they have issues reflecting on themselves) everything they support actually serves the purpose of increasing life. Even in the way Liberals actions make other people think deeply on the type of person that a Liberal must be, helps form a more lively person. Even with many women getting abortions it helps to create life in that it builds up the spiritual being of a woman who gets an abortion, because later in the life the woman will have internal conflict. That conflict becomes a good thing in the heart of a woman, and no amount of indoctrination to end stigmas can counter the feeling of guilt that sneaks up later in life. Moreover, everything that Liberals do has the exact opposite effect in the long term for what they were trying to achieve, with everything they do.
Report Post »Itsjusttim
Posted on March 2, 2012 at 9:15amTo be more exact, if a woman has no conflicts ever over getting an abortion, and it never sneaks up on them, then the woman was dead inside before she got the abortion, and therefore she already had her reward for an abortion before she even had the abortion.

A new report card by the American Civil Liberties Union, Liberty Watch 2012, ranks Paul higher than Obama on a host of progressive and anti-war issues.
The area where President Obama and Ron Paul are the most alike is on foreign policy. Both seem to share the conviction that the United States is to blame for many of the world’s problems. Obama said in 2009 that “America has shown arrogance.” In many other statements, he has made clear his belief that the U.S. does not have the moral authority to lead the world. In a similar vein, Ron Paul stated in a 2007 presidential debate on Fox News that the 9/11 attacks were “blowback” from U.S. interference in Middle Eastern politics.

Posted on March 2, 2012 at 11:03amThe Constitution is merely a piece of paper if we don’t uphold it properly. No one in their right minds can say that has been done in at least the past 50 years. You guys and Ron Paul somehow believe that will change simply with Ron Paul as President. That is ridiculous. The courts have destroyed the meaning of our Constitution for decades and no single President can overhaul the courts in one or even two terms. And these courts, without a doubt, will allow Sharia to creep in. Just like they allowed abortion to pour into our nation.
The problem rests with our courts and often our legislation. You do not have a higher view of the Constitution simply because you believe it can stand against all evils on its own. This is a silly view of the Constitution. It is not a force in and of itself. And it only is effective if we don’t pervert it in our government and courts. Ron Paul as President would not have the power to silence the bad choices of our courts on issues like Sharia.

LOL you see, this is why time2 never has any information to use against Ron Paul, he only attacks him with typical scared phrases like “kook, crazy, loon, dangerous, and anti semite”.
He is a perfect example of a liberal progressive neocon who has no clue of what is going on. The problem is there are more of these morons than people who arent blinded by fear of Muslims, Obama, terrorists, and whatever else they wanted to declare war on.

Posted on March 2, 2012 at 8:55amWell we have three carriers off their coast, we have 45 bases surrounding them with over 100k troops. We have had both sides Republicans and Democrats say Iran must be hit. We have sanctioned them, we have drones flying over them. Pretty sure we are doing things covertly and using cyber attacks on them.
WE ARE ALREADY AT WAR WITH THEM JUST WITH THE SANCTIONS!!!!
Before you support sending American kids into another wasteland Muslim country, sign your kids up first. Iran isnt worth one American life because they pose no threat to the United States at all.
Ask yourself this honestly, has our foreign policy made us safer or less safe. Remember 911, we were attacked and it unified our country. People signed up to join the armed forces because they wanted revenge. How many Muslim children have died during our wars with their countries. How many fathers, brothers, and uncles have we killed. We are creating more hate towards us.
All of the bases and wars have done nothing but bring us to our knees financial. This was Osama Bin Laden’s plan to begin with and we fell for it. We are collapsing from within because they knew we could not be beaten on the battle field. Not to mention the 900 bases in 130 countries hasnt worked. They are setting up on our southern border.
Pull our troops home, defend our borders, quit giving foreign aid, take care of ourselves. We are broke!!!!

“Always blame America first” is a canned line that has outlived its usefulness. It is used by those ignorant, violent thugs, whose lives are consumed with wanting war and more war. When a child exhibits bad behavior and the parent corrects that behavior, would we accept the childish response, “Always blame the child first?”

Not nearly enough of them. We went into Iraq in 1991 with 500,000 troops with the only mission of getting Saddam out of Kuwait and hurting his military capability. (Remember his troops were raping and pillaging Kuwaiti cities.) We invaded Iraq in 2003 with just over 200,000 troops and a ridiculously restrictive rules of engagment.
If we would have carpet-bombed like in 91, and truly had a shock and awe and struck Iran with a continuous shower of cruise missles, this would have been over and done in a matter of months.
Learn about WWII.

Posted on March 2, 2012 at 1:14pmI AM that ‘kid’ WHO SIGNED THE ENLISTMENT PAPERS MYSELF, and I WILL GO and remove threats if it is neccessary. “Kids?” Really? Did our President or Congress announce a draft? I AM IN AN ALL VOLUNTEER MILITARY! Don’t use us to hide. We volunteered. The fact that a lot of my ‘contemporaries’ in the military support Rep. Paul shows they don’t want to do what they SWORE AND OATH TO DO! And don‘t give me the ’Constitution’ line. The Constitution isn’t something you throw around and turn into a political football. Rep. Paul and his ilk live in the past. There is NO POSSIBLE way to be isolationist when you can be attacked in a matter of hours from anywehre in the world! Don’t even get me started on his lack of reality when it comes to drugs and prostitution…personal responsibility is NEARLY NON-EXISTENT in our culture NOW! Take away restrictions on destructive behavior and what will you get? I’m sick of Rep. Paul’s oversimplification of EVERYTHING. His economic policies are extremely sound, but still extreme. He would make a great economic adviser to Sen. Santorum. Sen. Santorum is far from perfect, but I would rather have him than ANY of the other candidates. I’m waiting for a Rep. Paul Ryan ticket…2016? 2020?

Ok your response is we havent killed enough of them. Really? You completely missed the point. We are creating more people that want to get in planes and fly them into our buildings.
As far as the tactics used to fight war, I believe if you “declare” war you use every resource and completely destroy the enemy. You dont rebuild them or occupy them afterwards either. Our leaders dont want to declare war anymore because it a vote they can be held accountable for.
@govt
What part of “threats foreign and domestic” did you miss. Iran in no way is a threat to us. You actually made my point and the libertarian point earlier. The United States military obliterated the Iraqi army even under restricted conditions.
When I refer to troops as kids, its because they are someones kids. I know that our army is all volunteer, doesnt mean they should be used by our government to police the world, over throw people we dont like, and occupy lands at the detriment of our economic health.
As far as Dr. Paul goes, his views arent extreme considering the time we live in. We are 16 trillion in debt. You people dont understand there is no fixing this problem without a lot of change.
You think Santorum, invading Iran and no cutting spending only spending increases is smart? It wont matter what Iran does when our cities are burning because of our own rioters tearing the place down.
Ron Paul 2012!!! Voting for a clone gets you 4 more with Obama.

Fact is GOVIS4… there are not as many as Paul supporters would have one believe. Most Military Paul supporters are “disgruntled” bunker mentality Vets, whiney one term dead enders (who should have never volunteered in the first place), internet posers with no Military Service at all, (very common here on The Blaze) Adam Kokesh/John Kerry/John Murtha types, those chaptered out for various reasons, record embellishers, Stolen Valor perps etc.
And for the very few who are actually pretty squared away… extremely naive, or spent their days as a REMF of some sorts.

Posted on March 3, 2012 at 12:16amRegardless of why or how Rep. Paul has influenced our military members, his opinions and potential future policy are dangerous, reckless and foolish. Again, Rep. Paul Ryan knows economics. He didn‘t run because he hasn’t had enough time to develop his platform. Rep. Paul knows economics. That’s it. Th rest of his platform is naive and ignorant. REAL solutions require intricate and DIFFICULT plans and decisions. When you oversimplify the world, you miss threats. Take your conspiracy theories somewhere else. We live in the real world here. People are either dissatisfied with their lives and want ours to suck as bad as their (Iran’s government and Islamic extremists), or know we have a lot and want to be in a position to take it (China). Sticking our head in the sand invites another Pearl Harbor or 9/11. Knowledge and faith gets us out of this mess. It WILL be hard. It WILL hurt. But it can be done. I am by no means advocating Iraq-style incursions into Iran. The State Dept. builds countries, NOT the U.S. military. STOPPING the Iranian GOVERNMENT MUST happen. The people tried to stand up to it before. We sat by and watched freedom get squashed by our ENEMIES in their government. We have the power. If we fail to use it, we will lose it, along with our status as superpower. And the next superpower may not be so benevolent. I hope you can live with that. I can’t.
