A readout of President Obama’s congratulatory call to Russian president-elect Vladimir Putin, highlights Obama’s praise for “achievements” in U.S.-Russia relations over the past three years with President Medvedev, including cooperation on Afghanistan, the conclusion and ratification of the START agreement, Russia’s recent invitation to join the World Trade Organization (WTO) and what he believes is the country’s “cooperation on Iran.”
Politico provides the full readout:
“President Obama called Russian President-elect and Prime Minister Putin to congratulate him on his recent victory in the Russian Presidential election. President Obama highlighted achievements in U.S.-Russia relations over the past three years with President Medvedev, including cooperation on Afghanistan, the conclusion and ratification of the START agreement, Russia’s recent invitation to join the World Trade Organization (WTO) and cooperation on Iran. President Obama and President-Elect Putin agreed that the successful reset in relations should be built upon during the coming years. The President said that he looked forward to hosting President-Elect Putin at the G-8 Summit in May at Camp David. The two leaders outlined areas for future cooperation, including strengthening trade and investment relations arising out of Russia’s pending accession to the WTO. President Obama and President-Elect Putin agreed to continue discussions on areas where the United States and Russia have differed, including Syria and missile defense. President Obama and President-Elect Putin agreed to continue their efforts to find common ground and remove obstacles to better relations.”
It seems the president failed to address the recent riots taking place across the country fueled by what many Russians believe was Putin’s fraudulent and engineered election win.

I wonder who will have a stronger influence on the outcome of our 2012 elections; the SEIU employees collecting/tallying votes, or the american people.

Posted on March 10, 2012 at 1:35amThere was fraud in Russia and it did help Putin but if anyone thinks that if there wasn’t fraud that Putin would not be in office is mistaken. The majority of Russian‘s still prefer Putin over the others they just don’t have anyone yet to challenge him, their system is made up of fragmented parties only the Communist party has it’s act together but they only apeal to the pensioners. Putin on the other hand would make life difficult for his opposition if he really had someone that could unseat him. But if and when that man arrives we all have to accept that Putin will be around a long time. Obama will find dealing with Putin a nightmare Putin is hell bent on challenging the US he does not want one country calling the shots he wants a multi polar world. But he has a problem that he will have to deal with very soon and that is China, making deals with them will by him time but sooner or later he will have to stop them from taking the Far east back from Russia. There are fights over there all the time that don’t get reported along the Khabrorvsk boarder and the Amur water way that is where the Chinese will force their way into eastern Siberia and make a move on the oil and gas fields and Sakilin Island For those who say Putin stole the election and does not belong as the president your anger or discust for him is understandable but he would have one anyway and he knows that now. Who ever America wants to win over there the Russian’s will vote against them.

Uncle Ben is a joke and hated around the world. Cooperating with the US on Iran, huh? Yeah, they cooperating alright. Since the USSR crumbled, who the hell do you think bought and stole most of the old Soviet weaponry and military grade anything? Who the heck is supplying them with materials to make a nuke Barry? Just another massive international kowtow and blunder. But then America has 57 states, Hawaii is in Asia, and the Navy has the rank of corpsemen. So, naturally Russia is a happy ally to the USA, oh and China is too. Ha!! Stupid Uncle Ben.

Posted on March 9, 2012 at 9:36pmSo typically an Obama behavior : Praise your enemies and slap your allies . After all of the Putin anti American rhetoric, just more Obama groveling. But, heck, what can you expect from the Obama administration ? They are probably more Left wing than Putin who is sure to meet criticism from the Russian Communist Party which, like our labor unions, is trying to reform the “new” Russia back to the “old” Russia. The Communists want their old power back and see the ex- KGB Putin as too anti-Russian/ Western. Very strange. Will be interesting to see what transpires in Russia in the months to come.

Posted on March 10, 2012 at 3:36amBryan, I don’t think you realize just how disenfranchised the Libertarian base of the Republican Party is. I can’t speak for every Libertarian, though I know there’s a LARGE segment that sees absolutely no difference between Romney and Obama. We are not trying to threaten everyone by saying we’re going to write in Paul, vote Johnson, or just stay home. We are expressing our frustration that the GOP will not listen to us on matters that are very important to us. War, debt and civil liberties. Romney won’t even be able to pull the 2nd amendment right advocates into the booth because he favors gun control. If it plays out like everyone believes it will and Romney gets the nod, there will be very low voter turnout in the general, and the Republican party will be split. Obama wins. And even if you are right, nothing’s going to change. Not one thing.
