Obama Continues to Omit ‘Creator’ From Declaration of Independence

During a speech Monday, President Barack Obama once again omitted the Declaration of Independence‘s mention of man’s “Creator” as the source of his “unalienable rights.” While delivering remarks at a dinner fundraiser for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) in Rockville, Md., President Obama spoke about what he called the “essence” of the upcoming midterm election:

As wonderful as the land is here in the United States, as much as we have been blessed by the bounty of this magnificent continent that stretches from the Atlantic to the Pacific, what makes this place special is not something physical. It has to do with this idea that was started by 13 colonies that decided to throw off the yoke of an empire, and said, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that each of us are endowed with certain inalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”

The sole mention of man‘s Creator in Obama’s remarks came at the end when he thanked the audience and said, “God bless you.”

This isn’t the first time the president has selectively edited the Declaration in not acknowledging the role of God in bestowing these rights upon man. During a Sept. 15 speech before the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute’s Annual Awards Gala, the president omitted the religious reference, but the White House dismissed criticism, saying that Obama “went off script and adlibbed when he made that mistake.” But just a week later, the President made the exact same “mistake” speaking during another fundraiser, this time in New York City.

When asked why the president did not use the words “endowed by their Creator” in his Monday speech, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs told reporters Tuesday, “I can assure you the president believes in the Declaration of Independence.”

    That is such a slap in the face to every Founding Father, soldier who has died for this freedom, American past and present and ultimately God himself. But what it really does is show that he has no true faith, no true Christianity because you cannot be “Christ like” without believing in God the Father! He also has no true love of this country and he cannot lead the way he needs to without it.

    Might be fine, ABC, so long as Obama represented himself as an atheist. He doesn’t. But, you are one of the few that will defend your vote to the bitter end. At least, many other people have seen the error of their ways in believing the “Hope and Change” hype. I feel sorry for you that you have to try to defend your poor choice in voting for Obama.

I’ll stay humble and let him have the last word. I personally wish that he were an atheist, since they are better thinkers than Christians in the modern age.

      Why does everyone keep questioning his faith? If you needed ANY proof of whether or not he is a Christian, consider this: He has denied – vehemently – as have many of his supporters – that he is a socialist. He has said “Don’t call me that.” Never once – NOT ONE SINGLE TIME – has he or any of his supporters denied that he [thinks he] is the Messiah. A true Christian would NEVER allow himself to be called that.

    What’s a black worshipper? I agree that he is deliberately omitting the word creator, but I don’t know why. Muslims believe in a creator, they call allah their creator, so there wouldn’t be any conflict. Unless he is stating that there is no God. And if so, he is heading for an $ss whoopin’. God has been notoriously harsh with world leaders who deny His existence. The man simply intends to demoralize America and he misses no opportunity to show his disdain for us. It is more clear than ever just how deeply he seethes with hatred of America.

      I like your point about Obama wanting to demoralize America..I also think the people who say he believes our RIGHTS come from Government and no one else are correct about him. Think about it…why leave out “Creator” when quoting the Founding Documents? Because he believes those rights are really not from any Creator; but from government…hence the right to food, a roof over your head, and the right to a job (among other progressive rights). It’s the Progressive disease that has been ripping away our foundations for the last 100 or so years. Time for those of us who truly know who gives us our rights, to stand up and keep telling all the proggies in DC that Americans believe in God as the only giver of our rights…

      ABC, oh come on?????? The founding fathers clearly recognized that the Constitution wasn’t perfect so.. they set forthh an amendment process. The 13th Amendment was added to eliminate slavery. That was the proper way to promote change. Using judges whether conservative or progressive to use their ideas as a substitute for the Amendment process is a major factor in the destruction of our Constitution. Tell me of any more Progressive political document created by the hands of man, anywhere or at anytime.

      Many voters will show up at the poles with little or no idea of how to vote (I work the poles and see this all the time, more than 50% of voters walking up really do not know the ballot or what is on it)

      Take the day off and go to the poles – help answer questions – counter the Dems – their Unions get the the day off and the Union bosses send underlings to work all the poles all the time.

      That is why Obama cannot say that God is the Creator, meaning that our God Almighty is the Creator, because it was displease Allah.

      Obama goes to church and is a Christian. That he chooses in public speeches to interpret the source of man’s rights outside of a creator–if that is indeed what he is doing–is of no consequence. Just because he doesn’t practice his religion as you practice yours does not mean he is not Christian or that he seeks to remove Christianity from America.

Do you consider Jeremiah Wright’s church representative of Christianity? Do you just believe blindly believe everything that comes out of Obama’s mouth? Actions speak for true character.       Our representatives in Washington should at the very least recite our founding documents correctly. And they should certainly acknowledge the Judeo/Christian basis of those founding documents. The rewriting of our history is dishonest and indefensible.

      ABC, Obama is a “christian” in name only. Christianity clearly teaches individual salvation not group salvation…. Christianity clearly teaches the atonement of Christ as the literal Son of God. Obama‘s liberation theology doesn’t. I would like to see Obama declare clearly that he rejected the statement on his school records while in Indonesia that he was a MUSLIM.

      Writers, staff, and Mr. President; No matter how hard you try, you will never re-write the Declaration of Independence, the Gettysburg Address or any other historic document. It is not within your rights, and it is definitely “above your paygrade” to edit this nation’s history, especially that which is written down and preserved painstakingly under glass in the National Archives. You will never be that powerful. The American public is not made up of rubes and dolts. We are aware of your schemes and your agenda. Your efforts to remove the Creator God from our history will only hurt you in the end. God will not be mocked. This land was settled out of a missional statement of faith and freedom combined. You cannot change that fact no matter how inconvenient it may be. Get over yourself and get with the program. You look foolish.

      The rest of the Declaration he left out reads, “…That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.       Have you noticed that the latest ads for MSNBS (“Lean Forward”), where they quote from the Declaration, they ALSO omit the phrase “….are endowed by their Creator……”.

      have to agree with you on that.. so why beat a dead horse? When reporting on this just use it as a fact .. the president does not beleive in a creator therefore omits it in our Delectation of Independence.. and it should be pointed out his NON belief every time he omits it..personally I have NO respect for this president.. I didn’t vote for or like Bush but he was at least smart enough NOT to piss the people off by omitting one of the most important parts of our DOI

      It’s not about mentioning a specific god. It’s about acknowledging that unalienable rights come from god, and therefore there is a line which government may not rightfully cross, else the People rightfully take back what government has stolen:

Additionally… since he is trying to take the power of deciding what are inalienable rights, it is pretty stupid to leave such an obvious tell as this that you are subverting the endowments of our rights by the creator.

      If this man wants to quote from the Declaration of Independence then he should use the entire section he is quoting, not be selective about the wording but wait, this is what they always do, on or off script they want to misquote, rewrite and misinterpret any of the founding documents they wish.

      So if Obummer doesn’t believe in “The Creator,” then he should quit quoting the Declaration, particularly that sentence! To keep leaving out “The Creator” tells me that Obummer believes that “he’s” the one that has granted those rights. Newsflash: You are not God, Obummer, so quit looking to be worshipped as God!!!       Much has been said in regards to Barack Obama’s religious faith, Christianity X Islam. I strongly believe that Barack Obama himself is his religious faith. He sees himself as a power above any spiritual influence over mankind. His political history of a long association with known and self declared communists also presents the probability that he‘s an atheist and doesn’t believe in any supreme being, He leaves out the “ creator ” in his speeches because he simply rejects the idea that a supreme creator exists.

      Except that he is telling the country that he and his family are Christians who believe in God or otherwise known as the CREATOR. If one in fact believes in God and then one would proudly state the word CREATOR. I do agree with you when you say that he is just showing what he believes. Or in this case he is just showing us that he is a dishonest President who will say anything and do anything to get what he wants.

      I think he is AFRAID of the acknowledgment to the existence of God because that would mean that Obama is not the final answer. Our God is not his god (un-capitalized) and that offends him just like political cartoons of Muslims, profiling of suspected terrorists (oh, that is right, Obama said we could not call them terrorists), non-English speaking vagrants lurking around border towns in Arizona and Texas (and there is no such thing as an illegal immigrant or alien – I call em “illegal trespassers” or “invaders with the intent to steal my tax dollar in the form of unlawfully attained benefits”). If these offend anyone, sorry. It is my Freedom of Speech amendment coming out.

      Here’s a translation of what ABC actually MEANT by his first post:

      “So what. I’d take an atheist over a religious politician if the atheist were the Democrat.”

      But that misses the point entirely. It’s not a question of whether or not Obama is religious. He claims to be. However, he fails consistantly to acknowledge that the diety that he claims to believe in is the source of our inalienable rights.

      In my opinion, this is because Obama believes that rights are bestowed on the people by government. Were they given to us by God as a birthright, government could not take them away. If there is one truth about Obama of which we can be certain, it is that his ideal government is one that can give and take away rights to the people at will. And, of course, that there will be far more taking than giving.

      What disgusts me the the most is when I have to walk through the main lobby of the VA Hospital in Houston,Texas and see a portriat of the kenyen next to the great Doctor Michael De Bakey who invented MASH which we all know as mobile surgical hospitals creatotor.Dr. De Bakeky has saved more soliders’ lives thyan any known man.
