Obama Cracks Birther Joke During Betty White’s NBC Birthday Special

In an NBC special that aired Monday night in honor of Betty White’s 90th birthday, President Obama cracked a birther joke during a pre-recorded bit from the Oval Office.

The segment featured a voiceover of Obama reading a letter he was composing to the elderly actress who has resurrected her career. That letter referenced White’s “long form birth certificate:”

Dear Betty,

You look so fantastic and full of energy, I can’t believe you’re 90 years old. In fact, I don’t believe it.

That’s why I’m writing to ask if you will produce a copy of your long-form birth certificate.

Thanks, and happy birthday, no matter how old you are.

Obama is then shown placing a picture of White behind his desk and listening to the “Golden Girls” theme song through his headphones:

      Probably the most sincere, down to earth person I ever met.

    “Very Interesting Bit Of Detective Work”

    1. Back in 1961 people of color were called ‘Negroes.’ So how can the
    Obama ‘birth certificate’ state he is ‘African-American’ when the term
    wasn’t used at that time?

    2. The birth certificate that the White House released lists Obama’s
    birth as August 4, 1961. It also lists Barack Hussein Obama as his
    father. No big deal, right? At the time of Obama’s birth, it also
    shows that his father is aged 25 years old, and that Obama’s father
    was born in ” Kenya, East Africa “. This wouldn’t seem like anything
    of concern, except the fact that Kenya did not even exist until 1963,
    two whole years after Obama’s birth, and 27 years after his father’s
    birth. How could Obama’s father have been born in a country that did
    not yet exist? Up and until Kenya was formed in 1963, it was known as
    the “British East Africa Protectorate”.

    3. On the birth certificate released by the White House, the listed
    place of birth is “Kapi’olani Maternity & Gynecological Hospital”.
    This cannot be, because the hospital(s) in question in 1961 were
    called “KauiKeolani Children’s Hospital“ and ”Kapi’olani Maternity
    Home”, respectively. The name did not change to Kapi’olani Maternity &
    Gynecological Hospital until 1978, when these two hospitals merged.
    How can this particular name of the hospital be on a birth certificate
    dated 1961 if this name had not yet been applied to it until 1978?

      The formal name for Kenya was British East Africa. In 1961, Kenya was a common name for that country.

      Of course, I wish that the birth certificate theory was true.

      Kenya was known to be a region of East Africa, and a birth certificate would have said African-American because his father was African and his mother was American. Interesting bit about the hospital though. It should be pointed out though that even if there was no controversy regarding his birth, he would not be an American citizen. When he was born the naturalization laws stated that a child retained his parent’s immigration status until a certain age. Obama’s mother (who he was in the care of) moved to Indonesia and became a citizen of Indonesia therefore making Obama an Indonesian citizen. He never applied for citizenship in the US and that is why his passport never said US when he was allowed to enter Pakistan (at a time when US Citizens were not allowed entry into that country).

      At least he can laugh at it I guess…

      I was living in Hawaii in 1975 and I went to Kapi’ olani Hopsital many times. Where are you getting your information from? Plus in June of 1976 Cher had Elijah Blue Allman at the hospital and it was still called Kapi’olani Hospital. I never heard it called a maternity Home. Ever.

      To many questions about this birth certificate. Why would his good friend former Gov (of Hawaii) Abercrombie say a week before this birth certificate was “produced” that it could not be found and in fact did not exist. The Dems waited until some of their media pals like Chris Mathews began complaining about it publicly before they created this certificate.

      World Nut Daily? Is that a website for squirrels? I googled it but couldn’t find it. I have a lot of squirrels in my yard. Perhaps they might enjoy the site? I did find a World Net Daily though. It is an interesting site that seems to offer opinions that are polar opposite of your own. He made it ALL about his BIRTH location and NOT the fact that he is NOT a NATURAL born citizen, since his Dad was African with allegiance to another country. Obama is an Indonesian citizen, IMO, since his Mom took him there and he was legally adopted by his INDONESIAN father. Maybe that’s why there are so many problems with his SS numberS… just saying.     I am not a birther but I hope obama is grilled non-stop about all the things in his past (Ayers, Dorn,Wright, Rezko, his Commie friend as a kid, drugs, drug dealing, grades in school, early friends and associates, girlfriends/boyfriends, his voting record in the senate,…all the things that were completely ignored when he took over the country)…and if thety question him on why his father was listed as an “African-American” in 1961….so be it.
    We knew…and still know nothing about his past and you can bet he‘ll dig so far into the Republican nominee’s past and records we will know his sperm count and colonoscopy results as well as whether he stole a cookie in the third grade.
    This time the light needs to be directed at the chosen one.
