Obama Defends ‘Timid’ Health Care Law: Change Won‘t Happen ’Overnight’

In this first clip President Obama explains that his health care plan is similar to “every piece of progressive legislation,” like Social Security and Civil Rights legislation. He explains that in the first 18 months of his administration they’ve “created a structure” for the change to come.

A reprint in my local paper has completely and undeniably put a lump in my throat. Apparently, some schools have decided to implement the Tony Blair Foundation’s ‘Face to Faith’ Program as part of the “Partners for a New Beginning” commitment instituted by Bill Clinton. All this stems from Obama’s call for a “new beginning” between the U.S. and the Muslim world!

So now, more than 120 American schools will be going beyond textbook discussions of world religion to engage directly with their peers in Muslim-majority countries by means of on-line video-conferencing. This is being instituted in order for students to learn and discuss their respective religious beliefs and values so that they might develop a better understanding and tolerance of each other’s religion. It’s all couched under “global issues of common concern” and “how individual beliefs/values shape a better understanding of these issues.” With all the problems our country is facing, is this really what is needed?

It’s all falling into place now. We get rid of the Pledge of Allegiance in our classrooms. We get rid of the reading of a Bible verse and bowing our heads in prayer. We take out the singing of “America” (My Country Tis of Thee) and our national anthem. And, we replace these things with the interactive study of ISLAM!! We abandon an understanding of our religious heritage, our history, and our Judeo-Christian ethic, and we replace them with revisionist history and a longing for a better understanding of ISLAM – radicals from which have caused nothing but death and destruction around the world for decades. On any level, does this make any sense at all?

It isn’t enough that NASA has been turned into a goodwill ambassador “feel good” organization to the Muslim world. It isn’t enough that our taxpayer dollars are being used to build mosques at home and around the world. It isn’t enough that while we kow tow to the Muslim regime in Iran, they continue to thumb their nose at our olive branches, criticize our every move, preach hatred and death to the infidels, and move closer and closer to the realization of nuclear weapons. It isn’t enough that our foreign relations policy consists of bowing to Muslim leaders and apologizing to them for every sin we’ve ever committed – real or imagined? That’s not enough?

It may have taken a few decades to accomplish this, but it is done. If some sanity doesn’t return very soon, we can kiss Christianity goodbye and say hello to Sharia Law. Ladies, pick out your head scarf material. Men, start collecting your stones. All that remains is for the American people to re-elect Imam Obama as Muslim dictator of the U.S. in 2012, and the deal is sealed. Obama, who believes in ‘collective/community’ salvation verses individual salvation is the perfect foil for this high priority transformation of America.

And the Tea Party movement is ‘extreme?’ Their candidates are ‘kooks?” Give me a break! Patriots, the time is nearing to pick up the pitchforks and lanterns and go about the serious business of taking our country back. It starts on November 2. Appeasement, excessive tolerance, and political correctness have no place in the “shining city on a hill.” These things are not what have made our country truly exceptional, and they will not serve us well going forward if we are to have the future we desire for the generations of Americans to come. Barack Obama was an experiment which went terribly wrong. It’s time now to put the ruling class out to pasture, and for the country class to come home again before we wake up one morning and fail to recognize the country we inherited.

I am hoping that the United States turns back and that we become a “sheep” nation. I am hoping that after the election and the house is republican that they will impeach Obama for that instance a while back of offering a job to a person that would sell his seat in congress. That is impeachable and if he blatanty refuses to work with the repubicans which he most probably will, I hope that they have the backbone to do it. We have too many cowards in office and if they don’t do what we want, we will get rid of them too. I felt Obama was a muslim from the beginning. The spirit of Christ just does NOT bear witness in that man. I don’t care what people think of me either in calling me stupid etc. If we cared more of what God thinks of us rather than man, our world would be much better.

    Felina G,
Interesting list, but I just heard a commercial this morning on his show for ancestry.com, so that entry appears to be in error. Indeed, as a frequent listener to the GB show for a long time, I find a number of those entries completely unfamiliar. I guess I could have forgotten many of those sponsors, but I tend to doubt it. Some, like ancestry.com, are probably still sponsoring the show. Others may in fact never have been sponsors, a possibility that seems particularly likely for Jack Daniels, for example.

Consequently, I am forced to ask, “Where is your sourcing for the list?” How can we get to the list, or to sources for any of the entries you listed? Without sourcing, it’s just a list of rumors.

Let me illustrate. Jack Daniels would be a singularly unlikely sponsor, since Glenn is a recovering alcoholic. Perhaps Note 4 would clarify that commercial relationship. Perhaps, for example, Jack Daniels owns company A, which owns company B, which advertizes/advertized on GB.

Another illustration. Glenn turned General Motors away as a sponsor (see, for example, Cadillac on the list) when they took the bailout money. Glenn quit them, they didn’t quit Glenn.

I don‘t believe I’ve heard a commercial for Coca-Cola on GB in a while, so they might be one of the sponsors who were successfully intimidated by the boycott tactics. But what is the statement referred to in parentheses after the entry for Coke? And where can I find it?

You say you have put time and money into this; does “this” mean specifically time and money researching the entries on this list? If so, then your credibility would be vastly enhanced by providing the link(s) to the relevant sources. In fact, without those links or other documentation, your list is not really worth considering.

I, for one, would like to read the statement by Coca-Cola referred to in your list. I am also very interested in Note 4 (Jack Daniels), as well as Note 3, Note 5, Note 7, and other statements.

What a tremendous list of vital industry leaders (sarcasm)! Let’s see: AVON, George Foreman, Lawyers.com (hmmmm, really?), Radio Shack, Republic of Macedonia (dang, you mean I can’t see all those clever Macedonian commercials on Beck anymore? CRAP!), USPS-penultimate organizational failure.
Gee, I guess there are millions of overly made-up, Macedonian HAM radio operators who can go back to standing in line at the post office or cooking there grease free burgers and not be bothered by watching the most popular show on TV. Whatever will Glenn do?

I love how he states “30 million people will have health insurance”, but it doesn’t mention the fact of how many millions will be out of health insurance once this bill takes full effect because employers will find it cheaper to pay the individual fines then pay for employee benefits. People who don’t work will get coverage on the backs of people who are working.

Mr, President, please tells when any of us said WE EXPECT YOU TO MAKE EVERYTHING BETTER OVERNIGHT. We did expect, however, that you should have something (positive) to show for approximately two years in the White House.

Exit question to Dems: please tell us here when your fearless leader admits that he owns the economy? Three years? Four? Five? Ten? When? After two decades, will all the problems still be Bush’s fault?

Hey John, your talk about X-box’s and other gadgets sounds a lot like comments Obama has made as well. And it sounds just as condecending and ignorant of different hobbies and evolving comunication methods.

Also, could you explain the difference between their “indoctrination” and your “fixing”. I mean, to me it sounds like it‘s only different since you’re bringing them around to your view.

@Moriarty – Wow, have you been sitting around all day just waiting for the right opportunity to slam someone for no reason and make yourself sound like an idiot? I never said we should take their gadgets and toys away permanently, or that they should be allowed to have them. I simply stated that young people today have little or no concern with the serious problems facing this country (problems that will be theirs at some point), so it would behoove them to get more involved in what’s going on and stop getting their information from Jon Stewart and Bill Maher. That would require them to spend a little less time with their gadgets, thats all.

Next time you try to compare me to Obama make sure you know what you’re talking about, It’s funny you accuse me of being ignorant and condescending – apparantly you are well aware that those traits describe you perfectly and it’s a sore subject for you. Hope you get some help for that!

I’m totaly guilty of those traits from time to time. But my real issue is people equate these hobbies with being uninvolved and ignorant. I tend to find that a gross mischaracterization and it’s something of a berzerker button for me. I‘ve spent my whole life hearing that the youth don’t care and aren‘t involved when I’ve always been a huge advocate of getting out voting and engaging many friends and acquaintances in discussions about issues.

And the comparission to Obama was just my way of pointing out that slamming the youth is not a partisan issues.

      @Moriarty –

I understand your argument and can sympathize to a point. However, although it is quite sad and troublesome, very few younger people do as you described in your post – get involved in the issues of today and inform themselves so that when they do vote they can do so intelligently, based on who they think best represents their own beliefs. Yet, ask several random young adults about the latest video game, for example, and they could probably tell you everything about it. I am actually a technology lover, I just think it is starting to take over the lives of young people, and at a younger age every year. And that truly makes me worry about the direction of our country. Everything in moderation, I suppose is what I’m trying to say.

BTW, you might have already guessed, but being compared to Obama in ANY way is my “berzerker” button.
