Obama Has Lost ‘Millions of Dollars in Support’ Since 2008

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama has lost millions of dollars in support from former donors in Democratic strongholds and districts that he won narrowly four years ago.
An Associated Press analysis found tens of thousands of supporters who gave Obama cash in the early stages of his last campaign have held out this time. And a handful have given to Republican candidates.
Obama’s re-election effort is hardly hurting for cash: His campaign and the Democratic Party has raised more than $70 million for his re-election since July, and the campaign boasts a million contributors.
At the same time, one Republican front-runner, Mitt Romney, has closed in financially in areas of the country that gave a solid stream of checks to Obama in the 2008 campaign, including Southern California, Florida and New England.

Posted on October 28, 2011 at 9:35amObama’s campaign AND the Democratic Party have raised $70M since July? At this rate, they will have raised about 30% of their stated $1B goal by election day. And this was the goal of the campaign committee alone. Note how we are beginning to combine figures to make this look good. There must be more people than just me who are pissed that he bowed to foreign dictators and apologized for the country he leads around the world.

Posted on October 28, 2011 at 10:10amI didn’t know the PM of Japan was a dictator, since that’s the only one Obama bowed to. The things you can learn on the Blaze!
This article is such proof of what’s wrong with politics in America today, we measure support in dollars and not voters. Pathetic.

The only one was the PM of Japan?!?! I think not. You seem to have forgotten the famous bow to the king (or whatever he is) of Saudi Arabia. Google it buddy – it’s all over the net.

Posted on October 28, 2011 at 7:09amNo, but fixing the election or the electronic voting machines will. This will not be an honest election. There will be illegal aliens voting, dead people voting, etc. If people can collect a dead relatives Social security check for years, what‘s to stop them from voting with their voter’s registration card? We need photo ID in all states.

Posted on October 28, 2011 at 7:32amMore voters voting against Obama in states republicans already carry will not help. More states casting their electoral vote for a republican this election, as opposed to 2008, will not help if they are more “low” numbers states.
Unless the republican candidate can carry the same states as 2008 PLUS Californina, or Florida, or a SIGNIFICENT number of east coast states…it will be another easy win for Obama.
Because we don’t go by “popular” vote…we go by electoral. In 2008 McCain only lost by 10 million votes…but only had 173 electoral votes compared to Obama’s 365.
See the voting results and the map in this link:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_election,_2008
Also,
in 2008 about 130 million voted
in 2004 about 122 million voted
in 2000 about 102 million voted
So, you can see, that either the increase in voters are either voting democrat, or they are voting republican in states we already carry and which have VERY low electoral votes.

Posted on October 28, 2011 at 6:35amHe doesn’t really need all that much money. Democrats are going to vote for him because there will not be a challenger. Add to that, all the blacks voting for probably the 2nd time in their lives, all the illegals with fake cards, the “cradle to grave” crowd who can’t risk losing their free ride for the sake of the country and the fence sitters thinking there is no sense “getting off in mid stream”…and you have another victory for socialism.
Also, the republican candidate will have left a bad taste in the mouths of the American public by the time the election comes about. Not due to themselves (well…not mostly), and not due to Obama…but due to there being to many “viable” republican candidates who are slinging mud at each other as fast as they can dig it up.
It is a shame there are too many talking head, media whores who just want to talk, talk, talk…but who are too cowardly to toss their hats in the ring. You hear me Christie! You hear me Palin! You hear me Ryan! You hear me West!

Posted on October 28, 2011 at 6:54amBTW, I’m guesstimating a 70% chance Obama will be re-elected…but just in case all the wannabes drop out and get started on their book deals, leaving us with a clear republican choice…we should begin speculating on who he will pardon/commute in his final days.
TheBlaze…start watching the visitors logs at the whitehouse. When the writing is clearly on the wall, it will be as obvious as it was with Clinton.

Report Post »Obama will get the money by any means, fair or foul. What “we the poeple” truely need to be on alert for is the stolen/fraudulant votes. This is why the dems are fighting tooth and nail to NOT have voters show an ID when they go vote. Assuming “Caesar Obama” allows the next presidental election, expect fraud on a massive scale.

There would be no authority that could put him in a orange suit with out a Libya type action. I pray that who ever the GOP candidate turns out to be (and I pray it is not Romney) Obama is defeated and conservatives ( I dont care if they are dems or repubs so long as they belive in the Constitution) take control of both houses of congress. We must pressure who ever is in office to return to the Constitution and gifted to us by God through our founding fathers. God Bless the UNITED STATES of AMERICA!!!

Posted on October 28, 2011 at 12:06amTeam Obama has said for the last year they planned on collecting $1,000,000,000 to combat the deep pockets of the GOP (who spent a fraction of the estimated $750,000,000 Team Obama spent in the run up to the 2008 election), but in order to do that he will have to really, really step up his game.
One Billion minus $70 million leaves nearly a billion left to be raised (OK, $930 million to go).
Divide $930 million by 12 months and Team Obama needs to raise about $77.5 million a month, every month between now and election day…
Prospects seem doubtful – though maybe they could fire up the middle east “donate from gift cards” operation again…
