Obama Holds San Francisco Fundraiser… Massive Tea Party Breaks Out Complete With ‘NoBama’ Finger Wags

Bay Area Tea Party Protests President Obama Fundraiser at San Francisco Masonic Center

On February 16, President Obama held a major fundraiser with more than 2,500 doting supporters at the San Francisco Masonic Center. What the L.A. Times didn’t report, however, was that just outside, at least 200 men and women with the Bay Area Tea Party were protesting in the group’s designated protest area.

Fund47 blog reports that additional, smaller protests also gathered consisting of a a mix of Occupy Wall Street activists from around the Bay Area and marijuana legalization advocates:

OWS held a number of signs supporting Obama’s national contraception/abortifacient insurance mandate. Legalization advocates held placards that said “Let States Regulate!” (marijuana). The groups protested together, oblivious to the contradiction of “Let States Regulate!” and a national healthcare insurance mandate which prohibits states from setting their own insurance standards.

According to Sfgate.com:

Obama’s San Francisco day was light on policy and heavy on fundraising: The president starred at a pair of $38,500-per-person fundraisers, including one with high-tech business leaders that reporters were not allowed to attend. More than 2,500 people were also at the Masonic event, where tickets started at $100. That was Obama’s fourth fundraiser of the day. He began with a breakfast in Orange County. Proceeds from the events go to the Obama Victory Fund, a joint fundraising committee authorized by his presidential campaign, Obama for America, and the Democratic National Committee.

I am actually pkleasantly surprised that there are as many sane people in SF as appeared at the Tea Party protest. Maybe there is still some hope that California won’t go completely down the tubes.

Too late. All the rich folks with sense hauled a$$ out of California years ago, because they got tired of being taxed out of all their money to carry the load for everybody else. And it’s not just income taxes, either. Gas tax there is the highest in the nation. Then there‘s homeowner’s taxes, electric energy taxes, “green” taxes, and all kinds of hidden nickle-and-dime taxes. And California isn’t even a nice place to live or raise a family anymore. It’s like an aging, worn-out whore.

California is a huge, huge state. Like the rest of the States of this Union, it‘s got it’s apples and oranges. You’ll be surprised between the differences (culturally, politically, religiously, etc.) of LA and its neighboring east border towns. Likewise, north or east of San Francisco is quite different also. My State Maryland is the same. The whole (or the rest of the) State is almost majority Conservative or Republican (geographically), except for Montgomery County, Prince George’s County and Baltimore City. But since liberals are best at overpopulating areas (urbanization sprawl, bringing traffic, ruining small towns, destroying farms, etc), they’re the ones with the most number of votes here. Unfortunately their influence has spread into the surrounding areas these past three to five years. Which really ticks me off.

We see the entitlement welfare state tax its citizens every way they can and still are broke (in a natural resource rich state) and bringing the rest of the country down with you. Whether its Liberal Republican Governors and Liberal Democrat Governors….they’re all the same…..LIBERALS. Regulations, entitlement spending, sanctuary cities, 11.1% unemployment filthy rich hollywood liberals and a BROKE STATE. Compare to Texas……Conservative State. Low Regulations, Low taxes, oil drilling, 4% unemployment and RESPECT for the Constitution of the USA.
I don’t need Glenn Beck to explain it to me…….its not rocket science.

Hello! California born and raised. I’m not surprised…WE are here.
What matters is WHERE you look in California. Some areas are more conservative than others. I live in Los Angeles (ugh, very liberal). Yes, I’ve found people who share my values. There are alot of great people here! They are just as angy about what’s happening to this state (and our nation). I think we share a feeling of being out numbered or being ignored or basically being told to shut up and sit down.
It’s wrong to say the WHOLE state is filled to the rafters with moonbats and loonies. Though from the outside looking in, I can understand why one might get that impression (if that‘s all you’re shown).

Back when H. Ross Perot was running for President, I lived and worked in San Francisco and was campaigning for him there. There was a very large following for him there.

Sure, San Francisco has more than its fair share of “left of the left”, but politically it is really very broad in spectrum. So, it doesn’t surprise me at all that the Tea Party is alive and well there.

“a joint fundraising committee..” I bet Obama headed up that committee! He wants to dumb down our society and our children. We need to stop these illegal drugs from reaching our children and we need to be locking up these criminals that target them. Just 2 nights ago I caught four 15 year old teenagers smoking dope out of a pipe in broad daylight right behind my home. People walking by within 15′ of them paid no attention, but I paid attention, and followed them until the police caught up with them. These were probably good kids that were starting down a path of destruction. I only hope some of them will have their eyes opened to the evil that they are playing around with. My parents always told me that if you play with fire you will get burned. Just look at Whitney Houston and the path that she chose. Wake up America! The progressives are attacking us from within.

Maybe you should actually try attending a few of the meetings of the Tea Parties going on all over the country and see for yourself, though that might upset the preconceived notion you want to cling to.

I don’t know the exact stats, but I think maybe “white people” could still be the largest people-group in our country. So generally-speaking, smaller groups may tend to be “mostly white.”

Strikingly though, are the number of black people who support black people and/or liberal ideology. I’ve heard way too many people (some whites included) who voted for Obama based ONLY on his skin color. I’m sorry, but that’s just stupid to do with ANY person, regardless of the color of his or her skin.

I guess too many people still ONLY see skin color and don’t go any deeper than that.

I red a blurb the other day about how much a person can contribute to a campaign. It used to be no more than a couple of thousand bucks a person I think, but the odictator admin banished that to any amount you want. I can’t find the story anywhere. But hell why not give the ashat 40 grand only to get 1/2 mil or bil for a BS green company or any BS company from this fraud, Great investment don’t you think.

@enicon or whatever your name is. You do realize that the socialism/marxism you guys want is designed as a two class system right? The ruling class and the serfs. These are people who want freedom. These are people who recognise the path to freedom. You are a twit.
