Obama: If I Were in Romney’s Shoes, ‘I Would Be Making the Same Argument’ About the Economy

President Barack Obama said you won‘t hear him complaining about rival Mitt Romney’s bashing his handling of the economy, because if he were in Romney’s place, he’d be “making the same argument.”

In an interview broadcast Sunday morning on CBS, Obama agreed that the economy is nowhere near the level of recovery it should be.

CBS’ Charlie Rose said that with unemployment at 8.2 percent, the ineffectiveness of the stimulus and Obama’s overall management of the economy, “yes it was a bad hand you were dealt, but you have not made it to what it ought to be — that is the centrality of their campaign.”

“Exactly, that is his argument, and you don’t hear me complaining about him making that argument, because if I was in his shoes I would be making the same argument,” Obama said.

Obama said it was still “important to know we did an awful lot in the first four years” and another term would ensure those policies to make the middle class “strong and growing” continue.

“The question right now for the American people is, which vision – mine or Mr. Romney’s – is most likely to deliver for those folks?” he said.

      Obama has skeletons like no-one has ever seen before and Romney can’t find a one.The thing Romney needs to do is quit catching and start pitching. Who cares about Bain Capitol? I don’t, but there is Acorn, Davis, Wright, Kenya and a ton of incompetent moves since he became president. Does Romney have a champagne manager at all?       With 14.9% actual unemployment… ya, anyone would be making the same argument as Romney. Obama is a failure. He admitted he‘s a failure when he said he’d be a one-term President if the unemployment rate hit 8%.

      You are spot on. His entitlement society members don’t have a problem answering the phone to poll takers, but getting them to the voting booths are another question.       Obama is doing things WE DO NOT EVEN KNOW ABOUT, against the American people because HE ACTUALLY DOES HATE AMERICA. If you HATE someone and you are NOT a good person, then what do you do???? YOU GET EVEN OR YOU RETALIATE IN SOME WAY. I think Obama’s first step, if he gets re-elected, is to BAN OUR GUNS, using the U.N. forces to help him collect them all.

    I’m afraid though this election is going to LOOK a lot like How our country fights WARS… even though we are in the fight…There is never any clear victory.. and anytime we can see a victorious win in sight.. somebody put the whammy on it.. Like that wasn’t their intention in the first place.

      AOL should have never shown photos of people wearing Mormon undergarments. There’s nothing wrong with wearing modest undergarments, but people are trying to make Mormons appear weird, for doing so.

      Why doesn’t AOL run a story about Muslim men wearing towels on their heads, and Muslim women covered head to toe, in a sheet?

    It’s interesting that no one asked how much of his “stimulus” went off shore!! Recent news reports indicate as much as 80% of the stimulus funds ended up going to foreign owned companies. Nice, real nice. We CANNOT allow this to continue. “IF” there is another term for the big zero, there will be NO middle class left! Just his rich buds and the rest of us who have to pay his bills. Thats not the America I know and love.

    Obama said it was still “important to know we did an awful lot in the first four years” Oh we know it all right Barry. We also know none of it helped, it actualy hurt. Why should you get four more years to try and get a clue on how the American economy works?

      LWILLIS59, While I’ve wondered the same thing, the Romney camp is very likely trying not to over spend from their war chest at the moment. Sure, they have had some good gains in donations lately. But, 0bama can step in front of any news camera virtually making a free campaign ad any time he wishes. I am hoping for a big push starting some time next month. Expect the fight to get really nasty between September and November.

    obama is a fraud….the economy is all his fault…with the help of every democrat in the senate and house….its thier progressive agenda and they own it…the only question that should be asked is WHERE ARE THE JOBS!………………i remember that freak pelosi and ried and frissyshiestshultz used to ask that question everytime they stumbled in front of the cameras during the bush yrs…WHERE ARE THE JOBS!

      Obama is once again rewriting history; and now I can see him taking up a new war cry as the campaign continues forward, hopefully to see Obama going off a cliff:

      “Blame Bush, Blame Romney.”

      That will be Obama’s new theme.
