Obama: ‘I’ve Got Another Five Years Coming Up’ to Tackle Immigration

President Barack Obama said this week he has "another five years" to reform the immigration system. (AP)
President Barack Obama, sounding confident about his re-election chances, said this week he has “another five years” to tackle immigration reform.
In a telephone interview that aired Wednesday on Univision Radio’s Los Angeles-based “Piolin Por La Mañana” show, Obama told a largely Spanish-speaking audience he still has plenty of time to deal with immigration, a central promise during his 2008 campaign.
“My presidency is not over,” Obama said. “I’ve got another five years coming up. We’re going to get this done.”
Defending the work his administration has already done on behalf of the Latino community, Obama said the only way any progress will be made is with congressional support, and dinged Republicans for being “unwilling to talk at all” about the issue.
“Unfortunately, the Republican side, which used to at least give lip service to immigration reform, now they’ve gone completely to a different place and have shown themselves unwilling to talk at all about any sensible solutions to this issue,” Obama said. “We are just going to have to keep up the pressure until they act.”

You know, the ones that forbid illegal immigrants from illegally reaping the benefits of our once glorious nation. Once those laws are enforced, then we can have the youths of our country working in the places of the illegals who currently do the work that teens would have been doing 20-40 years ago… I had to compete with 30 year old Mexicans for a part time high school job in order to save for college tuition. Am I missing something, or can the problems facing America easily be resolved?
