Obama to Give Jobs Bill to Congress Monday

Bush, first lady Michelle Obama and former first lady Laura Bush (obscured) look on during ceremonies marking the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center, in New York, Sept. 11, 2011. Aside from the controversial comments made by New York Times Columnist Paul Krugman, Sunday saw a pause in the heated and contentious political dialogue and debate that has narrated politics over the last few months. A return to a time ten years ago, when the nation united in our defense of liberty after an attack from the very real and evil enemy.

Politics, however, is set to come back into the frame of Washington Monday, when President Barack Obama will send Congress his new $447 billion jobs bill and speak in the Rose Garden to call for swift passage, according to a White House official.

“He will call on Congress to pass the bill, which contains the kinds of proposals to grow the economy and create jobs that have been supported by both parties in the past,” an official told POLITICO.

The centerpiece of the plan is lower Social Security payroll taxes for individuals and businesses. There’s also new spending to hire teachers and rebuild schools, among other things.

Teachers, police officers, firefighters and others will join the president in the Rose Garden to call for passage, according to the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity ahead of the president’s remarks.

The bill’s text is set to come Monday night, following the request to the President made by House Republican leaders Friday afternoon asking for legislative text of the plan laid out during the President’s speech on Thursday. POLITICO:

“’The House and our committees will immediately begin the process of reviewing and considering your proposals,’ they said. ‘We will examine the impact of your proposals on both short and long term economic growth and we will identify modifications and additional ideas that could achieve economic and job growth in a manner that may be more impactful or effective.’”

Obama is also preparing to travel the country to build public support for the package he unveiled last week. He’ll visit Ohio Tuesday and North Carolina Wednesday to ask voters to pressure lawmakers to pass the bill.

The Associated Press contributed to this article.

    Yo, Obama.

Pull the taxes on those who create the jobs in the private sector and watch the economy take care of itself. Pull the taxes and lift the regulations choking the life out of small businesses and the jobs will come.

He’s been threatening job creators since Joe the Plummer ! How long has that been ? Every bill … from unemployment extensions to raising the debt ceiling has a tax increase for job creators. If he doesn’t pass this bill … he’ll try to include a tax increase in the next one. Business doesn‘t trust him or the Senate and will keep their money on the sidelines until he’s out of office. He’s holding the country hostage because of his predjudice against people making $250,000 and above.

Greece on Sunday slapped a new tax on real estate to plug a 2011 budget hole, pleased international lenders and secured a key new loan tranche as concerns mounted in Europe over its euro zone membership. I Quote “It’s the only measure that can be applied immediately and produce results quickly because it does not depend on the tax-collecting mechanism,” he told reporters, adding the levy would be collected through electricity bills. Congress should wipe their butts with this bill, and send it back to him/

Just another simiulus, just another way for Obama to take money from the hard working, and put it into the hands of his supporters.

Federal Government has no business creating jobs – read the constitution, read the declaration of independence – no where do either talk about creating jobs, or putting food on the table. Jobs and food is the duty of Americans to provide for themselves

Let us drill our own oil, stop the over-regulation, get off the back of big and small business, and America will fix the economy.

Another government program, they work like the two Irishman that were best buds for life and had made a pact between them that the survivor when the first one died would pour a pint of their favorite Irish whiskey on their grave to bless the earth. After the first one died the second showed up after the funeral and whizzed on his grave, said I didn’t think you would mind if I filtered it through me kidneys first. So the government wants to filter your money through their fingers before they release a little of it for the intended purpose. So if you ever wondered how the government works and where they got the idea, now you know.

Actually Randy, Obama wasn’t responsible for “storming the” WI capitol. That would be, uh, the people of Wisconsin, including teachers, policemen, firefighters and regular citizens. You know, the ones that voted out two Republican legislators while zero Democrats lost their offices in the recall elections.

Randy, I don‘t think you’re stupid. But what is pathetic is that you feel like you’re in an environment that any ludicrous comment you make, as long as it is against Obama, will be applauded and accepted as truth. The fact is that citizens of the good state of Wisconsin revolted against that actions of thGovernoror, and would never have elected him had he campaigned on the issues he put into effect once elected.

Randy, it’s not acceptable to simply make up any kindnonsenseence, blame President Obama and think it will stick. @JZS – More spin trash from JZS. Is that really your picture? Looks really good. Exactly what I imagined, except better looking. The recall in WI barely took back some Republicans. If anything it proved that the people still want Gov Walker and the rest that keep their seats. Guess what, Gov Walker is still in there even after that COWARDLY recall. That’s right. So your point sucks. Gov walker is already making progress and has balanced the budget. The city will finally crawl out of the financial mess that has been brought upon partially by the communist unions. Those people who “stormed” in there did not have a clue and, in case you have not been in a union, they are forced to march. I know what it‘s like to be in a union and the treatment that you get if you don’t go and march like a good little commie. Your spin is so pathetic. No one here will buy your trash. The current governor of Wis ran on a platform to do exactly what he did regarding the unions.

The good people of wis voted him in, knowing full well that he was going to limit union power.

Folks outside of Wis (Obama’s buddies) flooded the state with union thugs, and bussed in much of the opposition. You will notice that with all of the millions spent from outside the state for the recalls, they did not get much bang for the buck. The house already wasted it’s trump card, the debt ceiling.
All that’s left for them until the next election cycle is to keep saying NO.
That’s what they should have said to the Debt Ceiling raise.
Our AAA rating would have stayed intact if they had.
There would have been no immediate impact; and, everyone involved would have had reason to work on actually balancing the budget; as, with or without their input federal law would have balanced it for them.

Apparently, employers will be inspired to take on new employees to meet increased demands for their products from a workforce that RETAINS their current ‘payroll tax’ (SS contribution).

This is not a new deduction, and it deprives the SS fund of much needed funding as payouts exceed collections, but since it ‘costs’ nothing budget wise it’s a political winner!
