Obama Losing to Romney in 2012 Presidential Poll; Palin Would Win GOP Primary

It may be early, and even “too close to call,” but Mitt Romney is currently beating Barack Obama in the latest 2012 presidential poll.
According to a Qunnipiac University poll of likely registered voters released Monday, the former Massachusetts governor leads Obama 45-44 percent. The lead, however, does fall within the two point margin of error.
Still, in encouraging news for the Romney camp, he leads Obama in one of the most important voter categories — independents. That group backed Romney over Obama 46-35 percent.
Obama also lost independent voters to former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, who leads the president 47 percent-40 percent in that voting block.
The poll also shows that Americans do not believe Obama deserves a second term: respondents voted 49-43 to deny him re-election.
Among other top GOP contenders, Huckabee trails Obama 46-44 percent and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is behind by eight points, 48 percent-40 percent.
Still, the poll suggests Palin would win the GOP nomination.
“In a mythical Republican primary Ms. Palin gets 19 percent, including 25 percent of GOP women,” the poll says, “followed by Romney with 18 percent, Huckabee at 17 percent, Gingrich at 15 percent, Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty at 6 percent and Daniels, Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour and Sen. John Thune of South Dakota at 2 percent each.”

I agree with all of you. Sarah is my number one choice because I know the truth about her and what she has been able to accomplish. The one item that impresses me more than any other about her has to do with her taking on both Democrats and Republicans while she was Governor. If you were not FOR Alaska, just looking out for yourself, she made darn sure you were pushed aside. That’s the kind of honest, public servant, non-politician we need in DC.
But lets not kid ourselves, we are going to have to work hard for her. We will be in good company so it should be quite enjoyable.

Posted on November 22, 2010 at 3:38pmThat’s a pretty arrogant remark. How do you figure she‘s clueless and are you trying to say that Jimmy Carter captured the pubic’s imagination. She has worked tirelessly for the cause, and for that alone she deserves accolades. I‘m not sure either if she’s right for the presidential spot. At the moment, though, no one has stepped out onto the stage that can really fire up the ranks (except Sarah) and you’ve just got to have that. Hopefully, while she keeps up the momentum, that person will appear or we’re toast. By the way, it takes a lot of skill, cunning and patience to be a moose hunter – not bad qualities for a leader, don’t you think.

Posted on November 23, 2010 at 3:17pmHow true. I don’t know how anyone using a common reality show to promote themselves could be considered a serious candidate for President. She’s attractive and high spirited but she is also a buffoon. The left and center see it and many people from the right see it as well. As much as you might not agree with Obama one thing most thinking people can see is that he is no idiot. If she is the only candidate the Republicans can put forth then expect 4 more years of Obama.

Posted on November 22, 2010 at 2:08pmI think if Palin polished her speaking skills a bit and did some weekly radio addresses about in depth policy, her polling against Obama would go up. I believe she is completely capable to beat Obama and would be a fine President. But perception is everything.
If she won the nomination her polling numbers would also go up because there would be no other contenders in the field.
Right now, the ball is in Sarah Palin’s court and my instincts say she already has a great adviser.
If we are going to turn this country around it will take a very strong constitutional, common sense and unconventional conservative to do it. If Palin was a guy, I venture to guess she would be beating the socks off of Obama in polling.

Posted on November 22, 2010 at 2:33pmI don’t like Mitt 100%, but I will be the first to defend his record. Romneycare is nothing like Obamacare. It was structured differently and was changed once he was out of office. The state took a .025 tax on gas to pay for premiums for those 20% who were not insured in the state. There was nothing unconstitutional, no power grab, and no mandates, just a plan to save on the state paying out for the uninsured.

Posted on November 22, 2010 at 10:35pmI’m with Libertygoddess………….Romney does NOT like obamacare because it is FEDERAL and not done on a state level. The states are the ones that should be working through and finding solutions. The states with the best ideas, lower taxes, best education…….will have people moving to fill the tax base. The health care program that Romney pushed……..has been “remodeled” by liberal Dems since he left office.
Huckabee is a huckster because he was not truthful about his smearing of Romney’s religion. Any Baptist preacher that was a big speaker at the big Baptist convention in Salt Lake City several years ago, DOES know enough about Mormons to stir up negative and contentious feelings towards Mitt. Shame on a “religious” Huckabee furthering his own agenda/aspirations. That showed, to me, a tremendous lack of character.
There are a NUMBER of capable and patriotic citizens that would certainly be miles better than the current. But let’s remember, WE cannot be backstabbing, hateful, critical and condemning of Palin, Romney, Paul, Christie, Gingrich etc., etc. We will have our own opinions…….but, PLEASE, let’s be CIVIL, constructive, united as possible and prayerful! We don’t need a lot of “in fighting”. We TRULY do need an inspired leader for this country. BUT……..we NEED all KINDS and MANY conservatives in MANY areas! Thanks to ALL of those promoting conservative issues around the country!
Report Post »ccr
Posted on November 22, 2010 at 11:45pmI realized I was hypocritical……….in being sarcastic about Huckabee. Because of the reason stated, I do not hold Mike Huckabee in a position of respect. I should have not called him “Huckster”…… If truly his motive is to promote conservatism in an honest and respectful way, I would support him if he were to be the candidate. I personally think we have stronger candidates with less baggage, but I would support if I felt of sincere honesty and respect in the upcoming months.
I would call on others to move past the propaganda (I call it that because I believe the truth is mingled in inaccuracies and deliberate distortions) of Romney’s so called flipping. There are a NUMBER of others who have flipped on issues as well………BUT……..the propaganda has not been there. Let us look honestly and fairly while looking at records of a man who has shown great leadership and skill in fiscal responsibility in tenuous situations (saving companies….yes, people DO lose jobs oftentimes when trying to save companies. It IS a fact of the free enterprise system. Don’t like it? Perhaps moving to a more socialist country would be better…….AND then saving the Olympics.) We DO NEED an experienced leader to help us make the difficult choices that would lie ahead. I do not know if Romney is THE answer, but I am certainly not going to ignore the many positive things he has done because of the much propaganda against him. I will try to be fair and balanced.

We want nothing to do with any politics as usual. Trim the fat. Lose the pork. Start the engines all over again and give America back to Americans. They are the ones who made it work and they are the ones who will get it back on track. If the only difference between our early days and today is slavery, then that’s great! We don‘t have slavery anymore and we won’t. That is, unless we allow the progressives to continue to destroy everything we’ve built up to now.
As an aside: I am frankly getting tired of the racial overtones of the political arguments. Why would you believe Obama would not support slavery? Don’t African-Americans learn their own history of how they came to the New World? Who do you think sold the Africans to the slave traders? Their own people! So, why do you believe they wouldn’t do that today? In fact they do. There are numerous examples of slave trade, torture, murder, and other atrocities where there are absolutely no white people involved. This is why we must be careful of the race card, and the stereotypes. People really are just people, no matter what color. They will be just as loving or just as evil towards one another as anyone else. We are after all, only human. But we are…ALL human.

good point.
But most of the dead voters are “helped out” by the unions so perhaps if we ran Jimmy Hoffa the union dead voter “helpers” would be more inclined to vote for him over Obama. It doesn’t matter which dead person we run the results will be the same. We could run Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels as his VP (maybe not they we’re/aren’t US citizens.)
The good thing about dead people is we don’t have to listen to them give speeches that insult our intelligence. Plus this idea isn’t without precedent. Earlier this month Jenny Oropeza won re-election to the california state senate despite having died two weeks before the election.
Perhaps what we really need to do is declare national bankruptcy, dissolve the federal gov’t, let the 50 states become 50 countries and allow them to get themselves together and in order then reconvene in 5-10 years and see if we want to reform the union and start all over.
just an idea.

Governor Palin’s “business experience” comes with the negotiations and dealings she has had with one of the most powerful industries in the world: the energy industry. This includes the negotiations on what will be the largest private infrastructure project in North American history. Governor Palin has successfully negotiated new tax structures, lease deals and other issues that arise in the Alaska energy industry.
At the end of the day, Governor Palin negotiated billion dollar deals with one of the toughest industries in the world.
If you want to talk about her tenure in AK, you may want to consider her balanced budgets. She left the state with an $8 billion rainy day fund and a $1 billion education fund and a budget smaller than her predecessor’s. WSJ Editorial page editor Paul Gigot said Gov. Palin “has demonstrated a sophisticated understanding of monetary policy” in this Opinion Journal Video broadcast November 9, 2010. Columnist Daniel Henninger harkened back to Gov. Palin’s first Washington Speakers Bureau speech delivered in Hong Kong, in which “she correctly analyzed the causes of the financial crisis, the government causes, including easy credit from the Fed. This is a consistent message for her. This speech is not something out of the blue.”

Posted on November 22, 2010 at 2:02pmSarah Palin is in lock-step with the American people on the majority of the issues: immigration, health care reform, off shore drilling, extending the Bush tax cuts, the mosque at Ground Zero, etc. Regarding gravitas, Governor Palin has written, spoken, and commented on issues ranging from the devaluing of the US dollar to the bureaucratization of health care to the Obama administration’s stance on Israel to the overreach of the EPA. She is comfortable discussing social, economic, environmental, regulatory, foreign, and national security issues.
With regards to leadership, Governor Palin has led a town, a state, and has co-led a family. She has private sector experience in working in journalism and her family’s fishing business. She has public sector experience with her time as city councilwoman, mayor, and governor. She has experience with negotiations between the public and the private sector with her work on AGIA. She worked across party lines with ethics reform legislation. Since stepping aside from the Governor’s office, she has been the leading voice of conservatism. When other supposed leaders are busy sticking their finger in the wind or sitting on the fence when it comes to current policy, Governor Palin has stood strongly for conservative values and commonsense.
With regards to political achievements, in three legislative sessions as Governor, in addition to what has already been mentioned, she forward funded education, passed major ethics reform, revamped the oil taxation code to make it more inline with the Alaska constitution, and increased funding for children with special needs. She rejected stimulus funds that were unsustainable and had strings attached. She stood firmly for the 10th amendment on numerous occasions and was a constant proponent of energy independence. She took on the Establishment of both parties and won.
She holds the Republican Party accountable for less spending, less debt, and to reduce the size of government.
When other supposed leaders are busy sticking their finger in the wind or sitting on the fence when it comes to current policy, Governor Palin has stood strongly for conservative values and commonsense.

Ayn Rand was once asked if she were a conservative, my answer was, “there’s nothing left to conserve, I am a Radical for Capitalism.“ What we need in the White House is a ”radical for capitalism.” not another Rino. Unfortunately, there was no “radical for capitalism” considered in this poll. Of those considered, either Sarah Palin or Mr. Gingrich is probably the best choice.
Before a decision has to be made, maybe we’ll find a modern George Washington or Benjamin Franklin that can be entrusted with our future, someone, who will restore Capitalism and the greatness that was the United States. http://commonsense21c.com/

“We the People” need to form a “Write-In Candidate Initiative” for the primaries in EVERY state to elect Gov. Chris Christie even if he doesn’t want to be president. George Washington didn’t want to be king, George Washington didn’t want to be president, he only agreed after it was assured to him that eventually, he could step down and someone else could take over and look what a wonderful president he was.
The first, and biggest problem with ANYONE that wants to be president is the fact that they WANT to be president.
