Obama Makes Another Gaffe — References Hawaii as Being in ‘Asia’

Add this to the president’s gaffe list — you know, the one that includes the 57 states and the time he said he gave a medal to living soldier that actually turned out to have sacrificed his life. What was it this time? While speaking in Hawaii this week, President Obama referenced Hawaii as being in Asia:
Foxnews.com explains the mistake:
But President Obama apparently forgot where he was during his press conference Sunday on the outskirts of Honolulu — despite being born there.
The president mistakenly described his location as “Asia” while answering a question about budget cuts.
“When I meet with world leaders, what’s striking — whether it’s in Europe or here in Asia — the kinds of fundamental reforms and changes, both on the revenue side and the public pension side, that other countries are having to make are so much more significant than what we need to do in order to get our books in order,” Obama said. [Emphasis added]
Obama understandably had Asia on the mind, as his press conference came in the middle of the U.S. hosting the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit, where representatives from many Asian countries were in attendance.
And, hey, Hawaii is a latecomer, having only been a state since 1959.

The Polynesian Islands are a loose group of atolls and islands in the south west Pacific: they are part of Oceania, which is not a continent, but a region.

There is 50 “states” in the Union known as the “United States of America” United by and under the Constitution. Then there is 14 “federal states” that the Federal government recognizes. You are taught they are “territories”. Never the less they ARE “States”. As simple proof of this, I assume most of you know Obama campaigns in Puerto Rico. Why? It is not a “state” of the Union. The reason is they are federal states and DO VOTE in primaries. The “USA” is defined in federal law as “the 50 states”, the “United States” is defined in a great many places as “D.C., Guam, Puerto Rico,American Samoa,Virgin Islands, the Pacific trust territories whcih are Palua and Micronesia. More evidence is the 14th amendment’s “Neither the United States NOR any state”. It plainly says they are different things. Peace.

IMO you’re clinging on to a single mistatement, which you know is ridiculous, to act like you are real smart, because even you, as ill-educated as you are, know that Hawaii isn’t in Asia. Seriously, does that really make you feel good inside?
And yes, President Obama did say “57 states”. And you pretend he doesn‘t know there are 50 states and proclaim he’s just plain stupid. Whatever. Okay, he mispoke But what he was talking about is, quoting from yahoo answers, “Beyond the 50 States, the other 7 Democratic Nominating Contests are: American Samoa (AS), Democrats Abroad (DA), District of Columbia (DC), Guam (GU), Puerto Rico (PR), Unassigned Delegates (UN), and Virgin Islands (VI).
Other territories and groups send delegates to the convention besides those in the 50 states. There are only 50 states. We all know that.

I was told by other military families that when the military families leave Hawaii, their kids are 1-2 grades behind compared to state-side schools. I decided to homeschool my son while I was there. If he truly believes there are 57 states (don’t we only have 5 territories?) and Hawaii is part of Asia, we are truly doomed.

Indeed, and that when combined with the fact there are still so many who will not awaken and see the danger about them, makes him all the more dangerous. I already have a partial plan being made for if (or maybe i should say when) he declares the dictatorship or socialisation of the US; it may be the only way to get the point of our freedom being so precious to the nation.
