Obama Mixes up Iraq & Afghanistan Conflicts During Live YouTube Interview

From CNN:
President Barack Obama experienced a rare speaking stumble Thursday, mixing up Iraq and Afghanistan when responding in a YouTube interview to questions challenging the wars in those countries.
The president twice referred to Afghanistan when clearly talking about the situation in Iraq.
He said that the United States would withdraw all combat troops from Afghanistan by the end of 2011 and that combat operations there had ended, which actually describes the situation and policy for Iraq.
It was unclear whether Obama realized his mistake. He then correctly stated the situation in Afghanistan, saying the United States would start withdrawing some forces beginning in July, with the goal of handing over full security responsibilities to the Afghan government in 2014.

What is it about Obama that gives him such power over the media, Congress and the “gullibles” in America?
Report Post »Enuff Zenuff
Posted on January 28, 2011 at 6:10amGood Question – His power over the media & Congress comes from cronyism, i.e. his willingness to play Progressive games with other people’s money. He wants to raise a billion dollars for his re-election but if elected he will do again what he did the last two years – spending trillions of our dollars to repay those who got him elected the first time… only it‘s no longer just the taxpayer’s money any more – it‘s our childrens’, grandchildrens‘ and great grandchildrens’ money he’s spending to keep the Mainstream media and the Democrats in power by pandering to Union leaders, government employees, minorities, foreigners, etc.

Obama (the ‘constitutional scholar’) also gets mixed up about a ‘representative republic’ and a democracy… but so does most of Congress. They all seem to think that just because they were elected to be ‘representatives’ that we gave them absolute unrestrained authority to pass any bill or tax they choose.
They swore an oath to be legally bound by our Constitution but they don’t seem to know that the word “democracy” never appears anywhere in any of our founding documents (nor in any of the 50 states’ constitutions for that matter). They act as though a simple majority can overrule the constitution any time they choose to. There should be some minimum standards before allowing them to take office – no matter who elected them. Their votes affect all of us so it’s insane that we allow these idiots to make laws just because the people of Detroit or San Francisco elected them as their representatives. At least give them some basic training in how our system works first.

Yea, well, I am not all that sure how rare his speaking gaffs are. It just depends how you count them. If you count his flip flops, false accusation, shameful apologies, miss-characterizations, political gaming, climate fantasies, dodges to be pro-American, bows, miss-salutes, excessive spending advocacy, class warfare rhetoric, waiver waving, green illusions, pro-Europe and socialism while anti dollar and capitalism, etc, etc, etc…in short the opening of his mouth, his so called gifted intellect regularly stumbles all over common sense, civility and good governing. But then it just depends how you count it all up. Obviously, we cannot count on his words… however, there comes a day when he will be counted again, by we who do count.
In some manner, I shall miss him. He has been better for America than McCain… in the long run. Likely, McCain would have never enraged the tea party, the elevation of America’s best. Some medicine is bitter and hard to swallow but it is better than slowly slipping into a mindless stupor of no recovery. I think I lack vision for where our recovery will lead. Recovery has begun, but the weariness of a severe illness still clouds the better days that we make for ourselves and our children. Stay the course, your course of course, not his.

So long as Obama gets his money and the “ruling classes” can divide spheres of influence with the Islamic world (oil money), then we well have a peaceful one world order.
Of course, they underestimate islamists. Thugs are only in it for the money. That is their religion.
