Obama: Odds Are, I’ll Get Re-Elected

President Barack Obama feels confident in his chances of winning a second term in 2012, telling supporters, “the odds” of his re-election are “much higher” than the odds of his getting elected in the first place.
Speaking at Democratic fundraiser in Washington Thursday, Obama acknowledged supporters’ recent concerns about his chances. In the last week alone, Republicans won congressional seats in New York and Nevada, and Democratic strategist James Carville issued a dire warning for the administration, saying now is the time to “panic.”
“Over the last couple of months there have been Democrats who voiced concerns and nervousness about, well, in this kind of economy, isn’t this just — aren’t these just huge headwinds in terms of your reelection?” Obama said.
“And I just have to remind people that, here’s one thing I know for certain: the odds of me being reelected are much higher than the odds of me being elected in the first place.”
According to ABC News, Obama made his remarks in front of 50 donors who each paid $35,800 to attend the gathering.
“We remain very confident about our ability to win a contest of ideas in 2012,” Obama said. ” As long as we can get the message out.”
In fact, USA Today reported, Obama told the crowd one supporter’s wish is “that my next inauguration is warmer than the last one.”
Obama also briefly addressed the Republican Party, saying in certain ways the 2012 election will have a “clarifying” effect.
“If you see the direction that the Republican Party is now going in, you have a party that offers a fundamentally different vision of where America should be,” Obama said. “And that contest is going to, I think, help shape America for not just the next five years, but for decades to come.”

Report Post »Do not underestimate this petulant child. We are 14mos out from the election. Anything can happen between then and now. He has taken steps aka executive orders to get more votes. Most recently his attempts at backdoor amnesty, he will get the hispanic vote. There is the DOJ working against us too since letting the Black Kitty Cats off the hook with voter poll intimidation. Then you have this current field of GOP contenders none of which have that “WOW FINALLY” factor. Any of them 1 on 1 can beat Emperor barry, that isnt the problem. The problem lies with the election machine behind him, a case I make repeatedly when folks invoke “Ron Paul 2012” insanity. He can take BHO apart, but he especially, like the rest cannot take on the machine behind BHO. You think 08 was a ride with the liberal drones coming out of the wood work what do you think ‘12 will look like now that more Americans are awake. It will be very dirty and his election machine will be the ones shoveling it. They will get the uninformed, uneducated, unengaged zombie drones to vote for him again using one of his already dirty tricks in play. What dirty trick? The one he repeated like a bad record about a week ago “pass this bill” in regards to his jobs bill. He knows it wont get through EITHER side of the fence. Doesnt matter the socialists will use it as a weapon to sway votes his way…. http://SavingtheRepublic.com

Posted on September 16, 2011 at 9:38pmOn numerous occasions, Gingrich showed himself a friend to Clinton’s military policies, with a flagrant disregard for the constitutional mandate that Congress alone may declare war. He made a formal appeal to the House of Representatives in 1995 to “increase the power of President Clinton” by repealing the War Powers Act. He praised Clinton’s unconstitutional use of the U.S. military to inflict a communist regime on Haiti in 1994, the same year he voted for an extra $1.2 billion for United Nations “peacekeeping” missions. He also urged the President to expand U.S. military presence in Bosnia the following year.

Posted on September 16, 2011 at 10:54pmI agree with many who have there doubts about defeating Obama. The union machine, a complicit media, accorn, soros, this will be a very difficult election to win. I keep reading posts that say Obama will get creamed, don’t bet on it, they will steal another one. I am ready to fight, spend and volunteer to win this election, but I am not optimistic. Progressives are so close to achieving their ultimate goal of socializing America, if not destroying Her, I am afraid that they will stop at nothing.
If B O wins re-election he will be completely unfettered in his second term and will wreak irreperable damage to Our Country. At that point we revert back to the Declaration of Independence…”But when a long train of abuses and usurpations… it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security”.

Posted on September 17, 2011 at 7:15amJobs Bill Force States to Surrender Sovereignty
Jobs Bill is not about creating jobs, but surrendering States Sovereignty. Under Sec.376, States receiving any Federal funding whether Medicaid, Medicare, Tuition, FEMA, etc. will now surrender its Sovereignty under this new Jobs Bill. Surrendering Sovereign Immunity allows states to be sued by anyone recognized by the Federal Government. Interesting that Hilda Solis has been advocating the rights of illegals and now this Jobs plan forces states to yield its sovereignty to be sued. It is also likely Labor Unions could invoke this requirement to supersede Right to Work and force unionization of state agencies and businesses. Is this a Jobs Bill or a Bill to expand Federal power via DOJ, DOL, and others members of the Federal Family?

Report Post »The putridness coming from the Whitehouse, the congress, senate is totally disgusting. It‘s been that way for years and thanks to Obummer it’s all come to light, the problem now is: how to flush that big toilet of the
excrement that has been lying there with Obummer on the top making the pile get higher.

Unless somehow you could sway ABC,CBS,CNN,NBC,MSNBC, HDLN or any other mainstream media outlets, they will never get the message out. I feel for you Mr Obama, your odds of getting your message out are slim. Poor guy. It would be weird if that happened. Then I bet you’ll swear one network ruined everything for you. Or Hell maybe AM radio ruins it for you . (In other words, there were people who felt guilty and voted to make themselves feel better.) Obama doesn’t have those votes this time around. It is most definitely more difficult for him this time around.

Posted on September 17, 2011 at 9:17amI truly think the corruption machine is in play, as it has been the last few elections. Also the fact they are trying to remake how elections are won/lost by revamping the electorate college tells me we have already lost control. Posted on September 16, 2011 at 8:12pmWe must do more than just vote when the time comes. We must do more than sit and wait for the media addled majority to decide our fate and the fate of our nation. We have a Constitution! We must act and demand that our Constitution be honored by our elected public servants.
It was God’s will that our Founding Fathers succeeded in creating our nation by wresting themselves from the grasp of tyranny to forge freedom for themselves and future generations of Americans with our Constitution. However freedom isn’t free; it is now up to us to keep it.
Thomas Jefferson wisely warned, “Eternal vigilance is the price of freedom.”
Similar in nature to the wisdom of Jefferson, Dr. Benjamin Franklin also cautioned, “Those who will trade liberty for security deserve neither.”
Indeed, having finally completed their task of writing the Constitution, as the members emerged from the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia on September 18, 1787, Dr. Benjamin Franklin was asked by an anxiously awaiting Mrs. Powel, “Well Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?” whereupon he knowingly replied, “A republic, if you can keep it.”
It’s your Constitution, your nation, your freedom and your choice!
