Obama Presser Recap: A ‘Shellacking’ but No Policy Referendum and Still ‘In a Ditch’

On Wednesday, President Obama held a press conference to discuss the 2010 elections. Elusive, he refused to recognize that Americans might be sending him a message regarding their thoughts on his policies, but did admit that Tuesday’s elections felt “bad” and were a “shellacking.” He ended with some introspection, and also compared this time in his presidency to similar times in Clinton‘s and Reagan’s. All in his own own Obamania way.
Obama opened by eluding to the election as “humbling” and not “fun:”
He went back-and-forth with Savannah Guthrie about whether or not the election was a referendum on his policies, saying it was instead about the economy. Still, he acknowledged voter frustration, and said it could be because he didn’t follow through on his promise to change the way politics was done. For example, he “had to” sign earmarked legislation in order to “get things done,” but recognizes that upset some:
Just when you thought he might slip up and admit the elections really could have been about his policies, he makes sure to point out they weren’t — and less you be mistaken, voters were not making any statement about health care legislation:
Heck, he even expounded on his “ditch” analogy (in response to a specific question about it), saying that the country is still in that ditch and now Republicans and Democrats have to work together to push it out:
He ended the presser with some introspection, calling the Democratic defeats a “shellacking” while saying they offer “lessons” that are good for him…
…and compared the situation he’s in now to similar times in the presidencies of “great communicators” like Clinton and Reagan:

It accompanies great boughts of laughter and severe greying of the hair. In limited extreme cases we have seen delusional behavior where the patient denies the root cause and continues with the idea that it’s an economic problem instead of a policy mis alignment. Being able to take direct feedback resulting in policy changes is the only know remedy to the disease..

He is not a leader and he will never be bi-partisan unless he is dragged to it, whining, kicking and screaming. I heard a lot of excuses for his failures but not a lot of contrition. I think he really feels he didn’t explain his Obamacare enough. Ugh!

Everybody stay alert to what the United Nations is doing especially through their local “green” organizations and such (ICLEI). It’s sort of true “Green is the new Red” but it’s actually worse than that. The UN Agenda 21 and the Earth Charter are imminent threats to our national sovereignty and people like Obama are being used to give over control of our own country to the “good of the global community”. The very idea of “global” community should be an alarm to EVERYONE who loves individual freedom. They are mutually exclusive although the people trying to ram this through will never admit it.

I get it now, I know why America has had it with liberals. I was at what was suppose to be a victory party for a local democratic politician last night… it was a concession speech. MSNBC was on TV half of the room cheered some of the comments by the MSNBC team while others were embarrased. Except when Bachman was on – they all cheered when he called her in a trance, then she dropped the big one…. the tingly feeling comment smacked Matthews and silenced the room. Right then I knew why America looks down on us libs and the night just fell apart from there.
But that was not the worst of it. As results from the rest of Florida came in, my fellow dems got ugly. The continuous racial remarks about Marco Rubio and Allen West got down right ugly, words I would never utter myself and was shocked that democrats would speak them so openly in public. Then came the results that Lizbeth Benacquisto, a republican state senate candidate had won. She got national press for responding to her opponentsTV adds about abortion and rape with her own rape expirience. I was shocked with the remarks from a prominent local lesbian who told our little group in quite graphic terms of what she would do to her. That was it – I left the party.
After the results from last night, the comments of MSNBC, the people I thought were my fellow dems and dreading having to go in to work today and face little miss tea party in my office I was close to calling in sick. But I held my head up and dragged my ass in, I got my coffee and waited for that smug little Palin wannabee to let me have it. Instead she came up to me and put her hand on my shoulder and asked how I was doing. I sat in my office and realized she has treated me with much more respect than I had been treating her but I was just not open to see it.
I get it, there is a reason why we lost last night, there is a reason why msnbc is getting whooped by fox, if we continue to go down that path we will lose everything and I don’t want to be like the vile people I was with last night or the pompous panel on msnbc. I’m not joining the tea party or anything but we in the democratic party better use last night as a reality check because the rest of America is leaving us behind.

I gringe whenever he or anyone on his team talks about laserlike focus. He first used it during the State of the Union speech regarding jobs, jobs, jobs. What did we get–healthcare? What will they try to ram down our throats next?

–Direct deposit of paycheck? TAXED.
–Moving money from one account to another? TAXED.
–Take cash in to bank or credit union from child piggy bank. TAXED.
IF only 1% then $5,000 transaction means $50 imposed “TRANSACTION FEE” & your $5,000 becomes $4,950…Barrow $200,000 for a home purchase from a banking institution results in a $2000 extra FEE paid to federal government, you only get $198,000.

Suggestions I have read (& maybe other speculations) are:
–This bill, spells it out that everyone will pay the Government 1% of their gross income.
–Page 9 states the House and Senate shall convene
not later than November 23, 2010
and Page 11 states the vote on passage shall occur
not later than December 23, 2010.
…and Who said the post election night Nov.2010-Jan.2011 “LAME DUCK” session would be meek for fear of retribution in 2012?
