Obama Re Elect Team Jumps on Romney Sons Birther Crack | Matt Romney Obama Birth Certificate

President Barack Obama's re-election campaign used a birth certificate joke by one of Mitt Romney's sons to promote their "Made in the USA" mug.

President Barack Obama’s 2012 re-election team was quick to jump on a crack made by Mitt Romney‘s son about the president’s birth certificate, using it as an opportunity to fundraise.

Responding to a New Hampshire audience member’s question about whether his father would release his federal tax returns, Romney‘s adult son Matt said Thursday he’d heard a joke that the GOP presidential candidate would do so once Obama released his grades and birth certificate.

“I heard someone suggest the other day that as soon as Obama releases his grades and birth certificate and sort of a long list of things, then maybe he’d do it,” Matt Romney, one of five sons, said.

Romney’s other son Tagg quickly jumped in to say, “That was not my dad saying that.”

Matt Romney subsequently apologized for the remark Friday, launching a Twitter account and using his first tweet to write, “I repeated a dumb joke. My bad.”

But the Obama team quickly seized on the remark, with campaign manager Jim Messina blasting an email to supporters accusing the Romney campaign of “pandering” to “extremists.”

“This is how the Romney campaign thinks it’s going to win the Republican primary: by pandering to the dead-ender fringe of extremists who still question where the president was born,” Messina wrote. Asking for a donation, he added, “We can’t make them rewrite their talking points. But we can drive up the cost of this kind of politics.”

Messina added that the campaign sells “Made in the USA” mugs printed with the president’s birth certificate “in case anyone else says they’ve never seen it.”

The campaign followed up the message with two tweets on Obama’s official Twitter account: One asking why Romney won’t release his tax returns, and another promoting the mugs again: “Mitt Romney’s son thinks President Obama should release his birth certificate. Guess he doesn’t have one of our mugs?”

Neither Obama nor Romney has released their college grades. According to ABC, then-Senator Obama released his tax returns during his first presidential campaign in March 2008. Romney has not done so.

    If that is best Obama’s team can do, they have a bigger problem than I suspected. Funny, I remember how I felt about Carter. (haven’t changed my mind there, in fact, loathe him more,) but no president in my whole life has made me feel like this one. I really don’t have the words to describe my feelings for this man. Anger, rage, disgust, frustrated-none of them work. I can tell you though, I have broken down and cried in despair for my country and my family who will live long after I am gone in an unrecognisable place. Only a good people can change this, I pray there are enough of us.

The press and media in this country completely failed it’s citizenry during his campaign and continuing fraud. The joke of a forgery that was released on whitehouse.gov was a slap in our face. His father was not a US citizen. Case closed. Yet the media chases down bimbo eruptions in the GOP. Thankfully, the internet is slowly unclenching the stranglehold by the MSM.

      The Constitution granted special rights and dispesations to the press to help uncover these very misrepresentations and deceptions. In my mind, the biggest enemy of this country is the far left media.They had better pray that things do not completely fall apart, because if this country falls into anarchy and civil unrest, they will be first against the wall!

      There‘s a reason Romney won’t release his tax returns, something that is traditional with presidential candidates. So what is he’s hiding? One theory is that he‘s paying less income tax than you or me although he’s worth a quarter of a billion bucks.

      Maybe he’s creating jobs with that money, although it’s not evident that he is. He made his fortune in part by taking over businesses, laying off poor and middle class workers, and then filing for bankruptcy so the companies would be bailed out by the banks they owned money to.

      In any case, why won’t he release his tax returns. Being a millionaire isn’t a crime, and many worship them for are their “job creating.” So what’s the big deal. As the right wing said over and over, “Just release the tax forms!” He could make all this go away if he would just release the tax forms, so why not?

      When this story gets out and people can compare this incident to the way President has expertly handled the economy and made the country safer by takling the scourge of dust on farms via the epa as well as stoping the rise of the seas and solved Mexico’s drug war by stoping the flow of guns to Mexico from the gun pushers at walmart and all the illegal gun stores in the US then it will be a no brainer for those that know than higher taxes bigger government are the secret to having a Utopia like has been created in Europe.

Wong Kim Ark, 169 U.S. 649 (1898), holds that Jus Soli is the mosy important determination for citizenship. Basically, being born on US soil is enough. Mindless racists like you can not accept an African American president.

      The better question is can you read. Art. 2 Sec. 1 limits the Presidency to Natural Born CITIZENS. By his birth on US Soil, Obama is a Natural Born CItizen.       Article 2 Section 1 establishes two classes of citizen. One can be a president and the other cannot be a president. A2S1 says only Natural Born Citizens can behold the office of president.

      I’m sure about one thing, if Mitt is appoligizing for his son‘s comment about Obama’s grades or birth certificate, then this just proves Mitt Romney is a Republican establishment guy.AKA: R.I.N.O. The Republican establishment is deathly afraid to say anything about King Obama because they might lose a precious independant voter who they believe are a bunch of milk toast Obama rear end kissers, like they themselves are.
