President Barack Obama on Thursday said the U.S. has lost some of its competitive edge and gotten a “little soft.”
Mr. Obama, in an interview with WESH-TV in Orlando, said his administration has been tough on the country’s trading partners and tried to strengthen U.S. manufacturing.
“This is a great great country that had gotten a little soft and we didn’t have that same competitive edge that we needed over the last couple of decades,” Mr. Obama said in response to a question about the country’s economic future. “We need to get back on track.”

Posted on September 29, 2011 at 11:52pmForget about Glenn Beck… Does anyone remember what America was like on 9/12/2001?
On 9/13/2001 we lost our minds. We were the strongest that we have ever been. It only lasted one day. Obama is right we are soft. Not how he describes it but on how our country since then has become. I weep for our future… too many wimps!!!

Posted on September 30, 2011 at 1:53amEhh we got soft over that b/c of media control to not show the vids & images afterwards. Stern even said around the same time it would all be forgotten! Ill agree with him we have gotten soft… but lets look into why! Glenn touched on part of it yesterday about how the youth have been programmed that they are great, beautiful, winners vs being told they suck! That my friends is b/c of Oprah!! Im dead serious this whole you are beautiful wonderful thing started with her, and as her show grew so did that movement with an entire generation. Then we have around the same time the growth of political correctness, with the onset of the Clinton era is when it went into complete overdrive This country has been systematically softened by progressives IMO like Winfrey, Clintons and of course main stream media and of course DC.
Things that were once acceptable became unacceptable and the media has been ramming it down our throats for years. Proggie Hollywood has done just as much to soften us up from making men look bad and stupid in commercials, tv shows etc to always portraying the US as the bad guy. DC has stuck its nose into every aspect of life from trying to tell us what we can and cant eat, drink, take (as far as meds/ supplements) and the list goes on & on. The country is soft because of those in power making us soft. This is just a game just more of his smoke and mirrors the country is soft b/c he epitomizes all who got us here, progressives! http://SavingtheRepublic.com

Posted on September 30, 2011 at 7:21amWe ARE weak. The Founding Fathers were strong. They would have removed the “enemy from within” that is sitting in the White House a LONG time ago. They would have focused on saving our nation. We just sit around griping about obama and his other anti-American cohorts while the Founding Fathers would have gotten rid of them either by force or by other methods. We may be limited to impeachment and working to have them put in prison for treason and other charges but we could still be working towards that goal. They would find out that as much as they would like to believe that they are invincible they are not and that they can be charged and even put in prison for treason at any time. After all, even in spite of the anti-American bias of the main stream media, based on events that everyone around this world has seen, it could be proven that everyone that has worked on destroying it Constitution is guilty of treason and should be put in prison for the rest of their lives.

Posted on September 30, 2011 at 7:56amIt is all about breaking the people of this country down bit by bit and piece by piece so that we will lose the will to fight back. The problem is that the people that were at one time known as the silent majority have risen up to become known as the TEA Party and we will not back down. The fact is that Glenn Beck made a very good point. Van Jones is also trying to get the right to become radical and become violent. Glenn has said rightly so that we must continue to be non-violent in our descent with the administration.

You should read Road to Serfdom. Progressives use the same words we do, but they have different meanings. Conservatives (old time liberals when it meant for liberty) mean freedom as in free from coercion, free to do commerce as you will, etc. Progressives (or liberals of today) mean freedom from want. They want a utopian society that can only be achieved through fascist means.

“In five days we begin the fundamental transformation of the United States of America…”
Get the ever loving govnerment out of our lives and off of our backs, with people who wish to build or make a success of businesses having firm foundations and expectations in policies coming down the line and this economy will take off again for the moon and the stars.

Posted on September 29, 2011 at 11:40pmQuite honestly, that‘s the most intelligent thing I’ve heard him say. Just the reasoning behind the statement is flawed. We are “soft” because of the abuse we tolerate under this (and past) regimes. No other citizenship in history has taken such a lose of liberty/wealth/well-being without revolt. Time to take a stand or willing go to the “gas chambers” Your children are already slaves. Very little left to fight for.

Posted on September 29, 2011 at 11:28pmI disagree with the President’s assessment completely. I do not think that Obama is any different than his wife in their contempt for America and all things American. She had never been proud of this country up until her husbands election so why would he be any different. His statment and of course his Worldwide Apology Tour stand in evidence to the fact that he does not like America and what it stands for. That is why his entire presidency has been devoted to destroying America as we know it and ignoring the Constitution. We need to elect politicians that value this nation and hold them to ALL of the limitations on government that The Constitution demands.

Posted on September 29, 2011 at 11:12pmThis is the first thing he has right. Americans have gotton soft. The only thing he has very, very wrong is the cause. The entitlement mentality of the progressives is the direct cause of Americans getting soft. Self reliance is a virtue. Obama thinks its a sin. Obama wants everyone dependent on the government dole to survive. Before the progressives got ahold of the country, Americans were self reliant, strong and more resilient than any other nationality.
