Obama Blasts Syria For ‘Outrageous’ Use of Violence Against Protesters

WASHINGTON (AP/THE BLAZE) — President Barack Obama is condemning the latest use of force by Syria against anti-government demonstrators and says the regime’s “outrageous” use of violence against the protesters must “end now.”
The Blaze reported on today’s Syrian violence here and here.
At least 75 people were killed Friday—including a young boy who was shot in the head—when Syrian security forces fired bullets and tear gas at thousands of protesters across the country. It was the bloodiest day of the monthlong uprising against President Bashar Assad.
In a statement, Obama says Syria’s moves a day earlier to repeal a decades-old emergency law and allow peaceful demonstrations were not serious in light of Friday’s events.
He called on Assad to change course and obey the will of his people by giving them what they seek – freedom of expression, association, peaceful assembly and the ability to choose their leaders.

There are absolutely no parallels between Syria and Libya, whose geography is conducive to invasions. Let us not forget that Libya sits right on the Mediterranean Sea near Italy. It is much easier therefore to launch attacks from ships and Italian bases. Syria on the other hand is much further away from the European states. Not only that but Syria is politically connected with Iran. That fact alone would prevent any foreign invasion.

Posted on April 22, 2011 at 7:43pmI don’t know that I agree that “everyone who can be reached, has been reached.” I know a lot of young people who simply do not pay attention to the news – they don‘t know what’s going on. But once they realize what is happening, they are definitely on the right side. Don’t give up on warning people!
Some people are only just waking up now… and some are still in a confused slumber. We need to have the information ready for them, so they can understand who the major players are, where they came from, what their motives are, and what the intended result is – and why their wrong, and what the right thing is, and why it is right.
By the way, if anyone can point me to a resource that does that in an efficient manner, I would definitely pass it on to my friends. It’s hard to get the point across by just sending links to news stories and hoping they will read them.

You missed the point. Obama refuses to protect the American people but insists on butting in, in foreign countries that have not threatened the USA. Under our Constitution… he is in violation of the law. He must have a declaration of war from Congress before he can drop bombs on another country. He also refuses to stop the outright invasion of our southern border and insists the States not protect themselves. We do care, but it is not our job as a nation to kill them to save them.
