‘Obama That I Used to Know’: 2008 Supporters Release Hilariously Scathing Anti-Obama Parody

Gotye Parody Mocks Obama That I Used to Know

If you listen to pop radio at all — or even if you pay attention to the music that plays in the grocery store — you know that the group Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know” is one of the hottest songs in the country right now. The catchy tune and eccentric music video are burning up the airwaves and the Internet. And now some 2008 Obama supporters have capitalized off of it with a scathing, yet hilarious, parody of the song that blasts the president.

The video is called “Obama That I Used to Know” and mocks everything from Obama’s high unemployment rate, to his promises of change, and even his use of drones and vow to close Guantanamo.

It includes lyrics such as, “But college ended, had to pay my rent / at least your the first gay president, but the change I got was that I moved in with my mother.”

There’s also: “Because you won and then you cut me off, but now your speeches never soar as high as unemployment.”

To be fair, the video takes its shots at Romney, and that brings up a larger point: Those that are portrayed in these types of videos aren‘t so disillusioned with Obama that they’re going to vote for Romney. However, it does reveal that so many are starting to see that much of Obama’s rhetoric over the last five years have been politicking. And while these voters won’t switch to Romney, it could mean that more middle-of-the-road voters will.

      When are people going to realize that there is no left or right? It is all the same agenda from both sides they just call it different things. Everybody hates Obama but the fail to realize that mccain would have done the same thing if he would have won. It is bankers that control everything. We need to prosecute these bad actors and get back to what made this country great. You think this is the land of the free? Show your papers slaves. You think you have a vote? How is that possibloe when both parties are backed by the same bankers? Things are changing fast and we are not waking up fast enough. Republican and Democrat are words that are built up to control you. You identify with this word then they tell you what being one is and you fall right in line. America is on its last leg and we need to support real journalist not actors/comentators.

      No they are not all exactly the same, yes some republicans are big spenders, but even McCain would not have signed the healthcare bill, and the republicans would not have ever made that healthcare bill, and the bills that bush signed were mostly written and passed by democrats, not that bush does not get some of the blame ………..

Since our schools no longer teach what happened in the 30‘s with regard to Hitler’s Germany or even Stalins Russia, we have people running around with no discernment of what evil looks like…they even deny its existence just like Satan would like you to do regarding who he is.       I‘m sorry but if we started boycotting every single company because they excise their free speech that we don’t agree with then we would all end up living in mud huts.

      Sorry, but in this economy I have to save every penny so if Amazon has it cheaper, I’m buying it there. What I can do is just make sure I donate what I can to groups that are opposite of what that company has donated to.

The Obama they used to know is a fabrication developed by a large amount of people, including, but not limited to, his autobiographer, Ayers, his big-government, anti-socialist, and/or subversive parents and mentors, and everyone who has agreed not to speak out that may have knowledge.

      The truth is slowly getting out. This nation can survive 4 years of Obama… but just barely. Wake up and smell the Executive Orders.

      While I won’t dispute the Manchurian Candidate business, respectfully, you’re sort of missing the point.

      What we have here are former Obama supporters who are going through all the trouble of producing such a well-polished video. I’ve done video production, and I can tell by looking at it that that video was no small project. Set decoration, multiple shots on the animations, make-up…that video was self-evidently WORK to produce, and you don’t do that sort of thing on a lark.

      That is a HUGE case of buyer’s remorse on display right there. I’m just waiting for some more former Obama supporters to do their version of “Won’t Get Fooled Again” by The Who. THAT would be, if you’ll pardon the expression, epic pwnage.

      Top, please don’t blame the media. That makes all of us look stupid. It’s very easy nowadays to discover a candidates voting record. There are dozens of credible websites that can be accessed.

      Obamas’ voting record, both in the Illinois legislature and the U.S. Senate, was all any sane human being needed to know that he was unqualified. If you didn’t know then shame on you. If you didn’t educate others once you did know, them double shame on you. Peace.

    Who exactly is “the Obama that we used to know”. I think the whole problem is that we never knew Obama. He was never properly vetted…well, other than by Hannity. What we used to know is that he was a complete ineffective congressman…and surprise he is now a completely ineffective President. We don’t know for sure if his birth certificate is real. We don’t know why he has a Social Security Card from Connecticut. All of his school records have been sealed…so what exactly did we know about him?
