Obama to Al Sharpton: ‘My Religious Faith’ Makes Me Believe Republicans Will Agree to Raise Taxes

According to President Obama, his “religious faith” is what helps him continue to believe that Republican lawmakers will eventually raise taxes on wealthy Americans, who, Obama was sure to point out again, need to “pay their fair share.”
Speaking to Reverend Al Sharpton following the Super Committee’s monumental failure Monday, the president stated his disappointment in Republicans for being “short-sighted” in not offering any serious revenues.
“So the position they’re taking is short-sighted, but it must be my religious fait, reverend, cause hope springs eternal…”
Newsbusters provides the clip. Transcript to follow.
Sharpton asked Obama, “How do you respond to their [Super Committee] announcing that they can’t reach a deal, and where do we go from here?”
Obama replied:
Look, there‘s no doubt that I’m disappointed that not just Congress generally, but the Republicans in particular, are not willing to put serious revenue on the table as part of a balanced plan . . . So the position they’re taking is short-sighted. Uh, but, uh, you know, I, uh, it, it, it must be my, uh, religious faith, reverend, cause, uh, hope springs eternal and I continue to believe that at some point common sense will prevail and we’ll be able to work something out.

Romney is definitely the man for that and he explains it in this next video, to come out tomorrow. Posted on November 22, 2011 at 5:49amThis man has no shame and will use any ruse to try to pull the wool over the eyes of voters – “his religious beliefs”. Are those the ones he doesn’t have in church on Sunday? One day this man will answer to God, and it won’t be pretty, unless he is struck by lightning for his lies before then. He continues to believe that pandering to the Faithful will help him get his way, and that they are too stupid to notice, but he will have a very rude awakening in 2012. I don‘t know what Hillary’s pay off was in 2008 but there had better not be a GOP candidate willing to screw with this election, thereby allowing Obama to win again. IF we have an election, it needs to be squeeky clean (no third party switches) and a rousing sweep of GOP wins nationwide.

Posted on November 22, 2011 at 8:51amYou know, sadly most won’t have a second thought about his phrase, “religious faith” because most people are truly ignorant when it comes to faith. “Religion” is man-made. As another poster wrote, a person can be “religious” about anything-such as drinking coffee every morning. “Religion” usually means a list of “rules” or “laws” of “dos and don’ts“ in order to hopefully ”get to heaven“ or ”be in God’s favor” or whatnot. It is HUMAN attempts alone to “be good” or “be Godly” or “be holy.”
In Obama’s case, “religious faith” is more “politically acceptable” (or “politically correct”). It won’t (gasp!) “offend” anyone. It can be of any particular “religion” one wants it to be.
But a person of TRUE FAITH is NOT ashamed of it, no matter WHAT it is. Does he worship the god of Islam? Then he should SAY so. Does he worship Buddha? Then he should SAY so. Does he worship the Judeo Christian God and Jesus Christ? THEN HE SHOULD SAY SO.
“Religious faith” is a COP OUT. It is basically meaningless.
Which leads me to guess that Obama‘s faith in any god isn’t real-and that if he has any at all, it’s merely in himself.

Posted on November 21, 2011 at 10:02pmI would agree to serious tax reform that would eliminate all loopholes and deductions as well as all subsidies. That would in fact raise taxes on the rich more than anything else and encourage business with a reduction of corporate taxes. The democrats will not agree to that as it would eliminate their loopholes and restrict their direction of corporate welfare ala Solyndra.

Posted on November 22, 2011 at 12:15amThe only hope Obama should have is that Glenn doesn’t wake up and start talking about his ineligibility!
Sheriff Arpaio is closing in. Obama’s birth certificate contains many anomalies justifying further investigation by law enforcement, as does his social security number. Both are alleged to be fraudulent by numerous experts. However even if the alleged fraud had gone unnoticed and it’s assumed he was born in HI, Obama is still not Constitutionally eligible.
Article 2, Section 1, requires the President to be a natural born citizen. This involves two equally important prerequisites. The first is being born in the USA or sovereign US jurisdiction. The second is being born to US citizen parents (plural). Both prerequisites must be satisfied. Obama absolutely failed to meet one prerequisite at birth and maybe both. He does not have TWO US citizen parents! Therefore he is not eligible.[1]

Report Post »Far from being well researched and properly referenced, the nonsense on your website is just a mass of circular reasoning that never addresses the essential questions. On what law, court decision or other authoritative source do you base the belief that natural born citizen is not synonymous with citizen by birth? What authority has ever endorsed the belief that the term natural born citizen excludes citizens other than naturalized citizens born in other countries? What law court decision or other authoritative source after 1898 when the Supreme Court addressed the issue of citizenship by birth has ever held that anyone born in this country is not a natural born citizen? What source do you have for the belief that being the child of two citizens is a requirement for establishing natural born citizenship other than your deliberate misinterpretation of an irrelevant Supreme Court decision that both predates their 1898 ruling, and specifically says that it is not setting a precedent or establishing a complete and exclusive definition of natural born citizenship?
