WASHINGTON (The Blaze/AP) — President Barack Obama will appear on an episode of “Mythbusters,” a television show that uses science to determine the truth behind urban legends.
The White House says the episode, taped on July 27, will air Dec. 8 on the Discovery Channel.
Discovery says the episode considers this question: Did Greek scientist Archimedes set fire to an invading Roman fleet using only mirrors and the reflected rays of the sun?
Officials say the president’s appearance, which has already been taped, is part of a White House push to promote math and science education. On Monday, Obama hosts a White House science fair celebrating students who have won science, technology, engineering and math competitions.
“I taped a special guest appearance for their show, although I didn’t get to blow anything up,” the president told an East Room audience Monday.
According to CNET, Obama lamented that he didn’t get to take part in any explosions while taping the segment: “I was a little frustrated about that.”

How many Presidents have been on this many television shows? What is next, a cameo in a big budget movie??

Barry read his lines, gave his stupid little plug while pretending to be a fan, then they left. Producers will jam it into the show for people at home to let it go in one ear and out the other. They will get vastly more disapproving emails than approving ones.
I was annoyed at first, but whatever. It will be fun editing it out and shredding the data.

Posted on October 18, 2010 at 3:45pmWoah! Slow down pardner…Take a few deep breaths. Look for the shift key, that is to make capital letters so you can start sentences. Then find the period key, it is down by the space bar on the right. Maybe in your case the exclamation point would come in handy too. Now that we have figured out the necessary signposts of sentences we can now work on complete thoughts…
This post is about our favorite president on Mythbusters. I wonder if Adam and Jamie are flaming libs? They seem way too smart to buy into that Kool-Aide, but then again they are in San Fran…Anyway, it would appear that you are responding to another story. You are all worked up because Obama is re-writing laws and that is dangerous? Hell hoss, everything that idiot has done thus far is a clear and present danger to our country! This country elected him in fair and square, now we need to wait out his term. Let’s just hope congress is still relevant enough to stalemate him for the next two years. They can work on impeachment though I do not believe that will go far. They can also try to fix the health care mess but unless the Republicans can win enough seats to override a veto nothing will get done for the next two years. The best we can do is keep praying that enough Americans have woken up to this danger so we can fix it in 2012…That is unless the Mayan stuff is true or Christ either raptures us or comes again depending on your theology. Then it will not matter anyway…Heck, in the big scheme of things it really does not matter…Find Christ, reserve a spot in the Kingdom. This life is fleeting at best, it could be much worse…
Smile, it costs nothing!

Discovery Channel is as left as they can go as is most cable channels such as food network. They do a special on any obama and I tune out. (are you listening TV producers?) Food Network did an episode of iron chef with obama’s personal white house chef and not only did I not watch it, I changed the channel when the commercials for it came on. I can’t look a the obamas. Posted on October 18, 2010 at 6:32pmWhite Devil, I believe you may be refering to the episode of Iron Chef America where they used the vegetables that were grown in Michelle Obamas garden. It was later revealed that the vegetables in question had been picked a week earlier. Those veggies sure did look fresh to be a week old!! Any chef worth his cleaver will want the freshest ingredients he can find and a week old ain’t it. It’s also my belief that these were in fact “imposter” vegetables and that the producers were trying to kiss up to the FirstLady’s agenda. I am sure ya‘ll are also familiar with Michelle’s eat healthy campaign to fight obesity. I mean just last week she had a greasy cheeseburger and fries. Obviously the rules don’t apply to Barack & Michelle!!

Posted on October 18, 2010 at 3:50pmThey’ve tested it twice already actually. Once in one of the very first episodes, and then again in a followup prompted by pseudo scientist fan comments on their forums telling them all the things they supposedly did wrong in the original tests.
It’s been thouroughly and completely debunked already. Another look at this nonsensical myth is pointless and nothing more than a lame excuse to put Obama on TV. An attempt to paint himself as some kind of science vanguard and ally himself with something people actually like.
Mythbusters jumped the shark quite a while ago though. At this point it’s less mythbusting and more reality television. It’s not so much about science and proving or disproving myths and more about making really big explosions and generally destroying as much as they can in as dramatic a fashion as possible. Half the stuff they “test” now are just stuff they came up with themselves or saw in a video on youtube.
I lost interest when they tested the myth of if it was really better to “hit the ground running”. They took the phrase literally and were trying to test if a person or a car gets going faster quicker if you suspend them in the air while moving and then drop them on the ground. The phrase is not literal. It simply means get to the task immediately and don’t waste time because there is none to waste.

(For non-watchers, that means they have tried to build Archimedes’ solar powered fire starting “beam” on two separate occasions (once with the help of MIT, if I remember correctly) and could not make it work.)
But we must all remember, Obama is a Progressive. He believes that, just because something has consistently failed despite repeated attempts, there is no evidence that it will not work when he, himself is involved.
You know, things like Keynesian economics.
